I also hate how after those two waves they get, that’s it. They then go on to premiere in the OCG, where after that they can get one or two cards of support in a main set. I wish the TCG would continue to support their exclusive archetypes through the TCG exclusive slots in sets, rather then dedicating the remaining slots to random pack filler cards that never see any play

kinda like, idk, when they released a new BA monster like every set for the longest time I don't know why they no longer want to do that.

Libromancers even now feels like they need ONE more card to be good the deck is like a well oiled machine but it just feel like it needs something more+ i hope we get one day more Kozmo support

I know you say this, but honestly Libromancers are playable. There are some hybrid variants with dogmatika that go kind of crazy. The problem is more so that the meta cards are all 1 card starters and give 3+ in advantage per card, which makes so many decks just unplayable. But yeah, if they got some sort of Deck Summon of their own like an E-Tele or even a new Ritual which actually does something, then they would go up in stocks pretty quickly.

How about a link one that protects the field spell and gives targeting protection. On opponents turn you can ritual summon a monster on the link arrow it points to? A new ritual sends opponents card to the gy based on the number of libromancer on field used as tribute. I wanna name the link one as libromancer librarian and the ritual libromancer book shredder or burner. An in-archetype handtrap would be nice too.

Remember when they did BA and Kozmo.. yeah it's been 10 years since then...

The point of tcg exclusives nowadays is to raise hype in ocg so when they print the ocg exclusive cards as followup support their player base goes nuts for it. i.e. beatrice double helix guru

its cause unlike most other archetypes TCG archetypes are built to have a clear cut weakness. Whereas most other archetypes we get from OCG that are any good are just all around good and then also have something busted, where as TCG archetypes try to do something busted but have a clear answer built in.

And don't forget that at release, R-ACE was a solfachord or magistus. It took 2 very powerful themed support cards AND one of the best splashable engines that aligns with it for it to actually perform.

@@batsmak2506 idk i dont feel like thats the same. R-ace released unplayable, but not straight up unfinished. It felt like an actual cohesive strategy, and the support they got was less like a second wave and more a touch up so that they would perform as well as konami had clearly expected them to.

This stems from a fear of creating the next SPYRAL

It wasn't even the TCG which broke spyral it was the OCG by printing double helix

Except for Tistina that didn’t really look promising. War Rocks: That was close. 😮‍💨

The only way it becomes playable is if the OCG adopts it.

yep,. I find it much easier to play Myutants together with Nemeses.. Nemeses have Colossus, Eschatos and Protoss together and with hand traps like Maxx C and Ash to fodder from GY requirments. Both unknown archtype have strong synergy with banished manipulation. I had a blast playing against Tears during that formats. Sucks I can't play the deck on TCG given both Colossus and Protoss are both banned. It's not that TCG archtypes are bad,. just like Rikka,. some decks are just meant to be experimented before it could get recognized for it's potentials.

Its just another on the list of *modern TCG archetype that is not good on release but just so happens to become playable when OCG gets it cause they printed the exact kind of support we asked for after Wave 1*

Tistina might have been playable if the second wave had more than One playable card lol. Literally, if you don't read the name of the cards of the second wave, you would NEVER Say those are tistina "supports".

TCG exclusives should be stronger than the OCG’s originally made ones. *Like Dangers*

Gold Pride wave 1 was so cool but we didn’t get enough after that, only like 2 of the wave 2 cards were playable. Then after that they were just completely dogshit, including the one that OCG got first

But like you can play Divine Domain going 2nd if your opponent controls 3 face ups, send Hound to summon Crystal God Tistina from the deck, use Breath to set an opponent's monster to search Tainted, activate Crystal God to book the opponent's board, then Tribute Summon Tainted with Breath's effect then go into the link 10 with 4k attack due to Crystal God, detaching Tainted to nuke the board (Tainted eff let's it attack twice) and Hound lets it direct attack. Isn't that cool? No? I didn't think so either

I think it's unfair to compare 1st and even 2nd wave archetypes to more established ones like HERO or extremely pushed ones like Snake-Eyes. You can't expect someone to run 3x of multiple archetype cards just to fill space in a 40-card deck and it be worth it. They need another engine to win instead of being their own deck, which is unfortunately a lot to ask of most players trying to make a brand new archetype work.

Unfortunately Bright Armageddon isn't as good as you thought it was. I play it in D/D/D, but not for it's effect, but because it's a lvl 10 fiend. The protection effect is alright, but the negate effect isn't. You cannot attempt to use it, if the opponent doesn't control a pendulum monster and it only negates monsters that are currently on the field. Meaning if he keeps summoning, those monsters still have their effects. For all intents and purposes it's tier 1.

I dont even know why they do the exclusive things anyway.
