Such a touching video. I remember those days. I wept when you showed how Grammy knew what you were bringing her for a gift in 9 months. And the hormonal emotions are so very normal and touching. I was worried about permanent changes in my body, too. One piece of advice that my ob/gyn gave me is that you only need an extra 300 calories a day. That's a tall glass of milk. That was very helpful to me, so I recovered more quickly. We're so happy for you both and can't wait to meet the little one. All we want is a healthy pregnancy and baby. Such exciting times!

We found out that he was a boy on Christmas Eve. We already had two girls, and my husband was so excited to have a boy this time. (Not that he didn't love our girls, he spoils all 3 kids rotten.) But it was a great way to round out our family.

I am so excited for you! My daughter will be 9 this week and it was hard for me too. I'm STILL not as maternal as I think I should be. You are growing a baby and it take a TON of energy, which is weird cause your baby is like...small, so much energy AHH!! I know you won't post everything but being a mom is going to be so much fun for you. I'll let you know now, at the end of your pregnancy you won't be able to feel the baby as much and you will be worried. The baby will have NO room to move, drink something with sugar in it and you should feel the kicking and moving. Congratulations!!! It sounds like we're due at around the same time. I'm getting ready for a Thanksgiving baby. Everything you said about body changes resonnates with me so hard!!! I worked so hard in my life to take my body image and weight fears and turn them into a positive opportunity to focus on a strong and healthy body instead. It feels so strange and oddly discouraging that despite my continued efforts to exercise, I am getting weaker and more out of shape instead of the other way around. Hard to wrap my mind around that being a good thing. Pregnancy is just such a crazy, miraculous, bizarre experience!

Motherhood is the wildest, most amazing, most challenging thing ever. You're going to be amazing at it (and you'll mess it up, and that's okay). That baby will be so loved. Also, making this baby is the strongest thing your body will do. I struggled with body image for a really long time, and having a baby changed everything. Not being pregnant, but the actual having of the baby. I'll spare you the long story and all the details, but I remember looking at all 8 pounds of my first baby and being in complete awe that my body made her. I have 4 kiddos now. Two girls and two boys. Hardest and holiest work ever.

Everything is understandable. I remember wanting to sleep all the time when I was first pregnant. I have never been super-active (I don't sweat enough so doing too much makes me feel like my head is going to explode) but keep in mind that your body is busy supporting a baby. Yes, you get tired easier but it's like your body is running a marathon and you're trying to add a hike on top of it. You can only do so much! Hopefully that helps! Just do what you can and don't overdo it. Then everything will change after the baby gets here. (I lost almost all of the weight I gained with my second one within a few weeks - while nursing. Put it back on with ice cream - so limit ice cream consumption! Ha!)

Congratulations on your baby. Both of my kids were born in December. Son (first child) 19th and my daughter 3 (last child ) She was a month late. However, the doctor miscalculated the due date and made it November 30th. Nope she came on the 3rd. My son was born on his due date.

I hope you have people in your life telling you that all of your feelings are valid and, honestly, normal. If not, let me be that person. Pregnancy is a TRIP. It's cool. You're growing a human, but you also have lost all control of your body, and it feels like it's not yours anymore. And once you give birth, it's gonna take longer to get your body even remotely back to what it was pre-baby, but that's NORMAL. You will never be the same, mentally and physically, and that's 100% normal. You are growing a human. You are a GODDESS and you are amazing. This baby is so lucky to have you.
