The warmup exercise in the beginning is from that video hahahaha. I've played through that video SO MANY DANG TIMES. John Petrucci is my Guitar Jesus.
Hello Damion, appreciate your valuable insights. One of the most challenging aspects I've encountered is consistently dedicating time to practice each day, even if it's just for 10 or 15 minutes. I've come to realize that regularity is crucial for making progress. Now that I have more time in my retirement, I can commit to daily practice, and I've noticed significant improvement. My routine revolves around blues and country licks, with a focus on precision rather than speed. I draw inspiration from guitar legends like Larry Carlton, BB King, Gary Moore, and John Mayer. Your point about improvisation resonates with me, and I find the looper to be my best ally in that regard. Cheers from across the pond, Chris.

Heck yeah Chris! Fun fact, Gary Moore is a HUGE influence on my playing. I'm from Biloxi, Mississippi and grew up on the blues! That's honestly my background as a player hahaha that and metal. Get a guitar that inspires you and then put it somewhere where you'll see it every day.

As a warm up I often relies on Bernth's on KZread. I really appreciate the exercises he suggests. As a Metal guitarist, it fits what I need. You should check his channel 😉

I just recently watched this video by Tosin Abasi from Animals as Leaders on his selective picking technique. It’s crazy man 😊 he’s inspired me to keep practicing and playing more
