Took my children there when my son was about 5 and he is 44 now.. he was called up on the stage in the Saloon and a magician did a trick and pulled undies from my son's shirt. Oh mercy he was so embarrassed byt still had such a wonderful time. Miss all of these wonderful theme parks. Ghost Town in the Sky in Maggie Valley, NC & Land of Oz near Boone , NC and Tweetsie train in Boone, NC. They really need to bring back some of these wonderful places for families to take their children so they can have a lifetime of memories as my children and I have..

So cool! I was there with my family in the late 60s or early 70s. I am a train enthusiast so the train was my favorite part of the park and what I remember most. I remember the tunnel shortly after leaving the station was made from something like fiberglass over chicken wire. While on vacation in Gatlinburg with my own family now, I drove over to Cherokee just to see if I could find the location, and was so disappointed to see the casino there. As a child, we never made it to Ghost Town in the sky. We did attempt to visit the land of Oz, but my mother was claustrophobic and couldn’t ride the enclosed chair lift. Plus my dad didn’t want to pay the prices for tickets. Thank you for regenerating the memories. It was a great time to be alive.

I remember Frontierland very well. My girlfriend and I worked there in the early 1970s. She was one of the dancehall girls and I was the clerk at the giftstore inside the fort. I still have photos of when we worked there. I watched the horse riding and roping shows and the gunfights numerous times during the day since my store was in the fort. I made a costume for one of the Native American dancers that also did the gunfights. I have very fond memories of our time at Frontierland. I enjoyed watching your video. You did a great job of bringing back a blast from the past. Thanks for the nod to a get little amusement park.

WOW!! Boy did you bring back memories with both the videos. I am from here and we went a lot when I was young. We have a picture of my Great Grandfather Jake who was the conductor of the train. Boy do I miss this. Thank you. I'm going to share the two videos with my family. I bet that our Museum here in Cherokee would love the pictures or at least copies of them.

This is genius. I lack the attention to detail to do something like this. I grew up in Asheville, NC. I think we went to Frontierland in 1972 but I'm not sure. I know we specifically went to Santa Land and Ghost Town.

That is awesome! Been there many times as a youngster. I don't see the Ghost Town video on your KZread channel.
