I don't know Mike. But I'd ask him to speak to family and friends if he won't seek out therapy. It just might work. But the thing a lot of people don't get with a not criminally reaponsible findinsg (a.k.a. insanity defense) is that you don't get to walk away a free person after it. You get remanded to a mental health hospital and will be held there until the doctors are satisfied you're no longer a danger to yourself or the community. That may well never happen, or at least take longer than the criminal sentence would.

Side note ,.. as of Jan 7th I increased my standards as an employer. From Jan 21 all those employed by me MUST be bilingual and speak fluent Spanish. "tough break for the red hat crowd,..can you believe not a single one could speak Spanish." In two short weeks, I created 439 new positions for first-year immigrants that just got their citizenship in jobs making 78k plus a year! WELCOME TO AMERICA THE LAND OF OPPORTUNITY! Don't worry as an old-school republican I didn't just kick the 439 x-employees to the curb in the middle of a pandemic,.. I offered them paid language training in the village of Emiliano Zapata deep in the jungle of Chiapas. They can take a five-hour micro-bus ride from Ocosingo to San Quintin. From there you walk a couple of kilometers to Emiliano Zapata. From there it is 7 more kilometers of walking through the jungle to the edge of the pristine laguna Miramar where there is a small eco-tourism project and language learning center. I am even paying them min wage ! ,..odd so far no takers ,.. lol. p.s. you get what ya ask for ,..I served 22 years and did 6 combat tours I don't much cotton to those that stand against our nation or support a man that would attack it for his own ego.
