I bought the first pressing of King Diamond's Fatal Portrait picture disc back when it was first released in 1986. And got rid of it a few years later. It is one of my biggest regrets in my life. It has become so rare over all these years. Years ago when I checked it was worth $300 USDA. I really screwed up big time for getting rid of that rarity.😔 welcome back MR. Brandon Vondoom.🤘🍺

You have alot more picture discs than me but I do think that newer ones definately sound better than the 80's discs. I also prefer when they come with the proper album covers. I have a couple of Iron Maiden ones with the jacket. Awesome Megadeth Countdown there. Have a great weekend mate and am hoping to get a video out myself this weekend😃🤘

I wish I could take over the garage 😅 but to be honest it's cold and has flooded in the past 😂. I do like picture discs but if I collected vinyl I'd have them for show and probably would hunt down the normal vinyl to spin although my thinking on that is because I'd be scared of scratching them. 😆 Always nice to see picture discs..... and yourself mate! 🍻🤘🏻

Thanks mate. Your reasoning certainly makes sense 🤘I mainly pick them up if the standard vinyl is out of my price range or I find it super cheap. Cold and damp is definitely not good for any collection. I recently insulated the back of the lift up door so that will help a lot🤘cheers

Awesome picture disc collection Brendan! You have some really wicked looking ones in your collection. Cool you have a Megadeth Countdown to extinction and Metallica Ride the lightning one, my dad has a Creeping death single picture disc which I showed in my dad's vinyl collection video. Some rare ones there. Sodom will be a hard find these days. Picture discs these days definitely sound much better than the ones in the 80s. I have a handful but thankfully they all come in packaging that you get normal vinyl in.

Thanks Mike🤘I notice some sound difference between the 80s and newer ones but really only in the quiet parts or dead wax there is a hissing scraping sound in the background but don’t really notice it during the songs. I can’t stand those clear heavy plastic sleeves so that’s why I add the stiffner and put it all in a new clear sleeve, tends to stand up well in my cubes. Nuclear Blast definitely does the right job in packaging pic discs

Great video BVD! I don't actually own any pic discs in my collection. Not something I come across often when looking for new records. The artwork always impresses so was cool to see Celtic Frost and Sodom 🤘

Thanks mate. Celtic and Sodom are probably my 2 most valuable pic discs based off discogs, I have Emperors Return artwork on a T-shirt, just amazing 🤘

Great video Brendan. I think picture discs are nice to look at, don't buy them to listen to them. The only good sounding I have is the Twisted Into Form that was released 2016, that sounds pretty good. I'm sadly a bit audiophile, so I think they overall are not worth spinning, hehe. You have some really awesome ones. And I like it when they come in a proper cover, and not just a plastic sleeve. Cheers. 🤘🏻🤘🏻

Fair enough mate, I only grab them if it’s something that I know I might not find or afford on standard vinyl or I find it cheap compared to the regular price it goes for. The Celtic Frost I paid $50 for and the median discogs is $240 so I found a bargain there 😝 those Nuclear Blast ones are kinda special arnt they 🤘

Thanks mate. I can see scratches and marks on them when holding up to light on some angles. Some colours are harder to see defects than others though. I think more for the hissing sound that a lot of pic discs have due to the clear coating over the picture. Cheers

Great collection you have there Brendan. They add something a bit different to the collection. The ones I've got sound ok and like you I don't seek them out, but if I come across them I'll pick them up if it's something I'm looking for. Thanks for showing.

Cool idea man . I was never crazy about having picture discs , buts it’s not like I was ever all that against them either . Don’t have that Blind Guardian album , next one I’m trying to get by them is Imaginations from the other side . So what’s your favorite Power Metal band ? I feel like you’re gonna say Helloween lol . Persecution Mania is one hell of a thrash classic , definitely gonna pick that one up one of these days too . Cheers B

I don't hate picture discs because of how they sound, I hate them because how they are generally packaged. Blind Guardian and Edguy do it right though!

Yes good call, that’s why I place the clear package ones in a sleeve with a stiffner 🤘 Nuclear Blast do the packaging right and you get double the artwork for your money 🤘
