I wonder how many games these days (2019) take advantage of SLI? I keep hearing how dual gpu use is dead from lack of support.

It's an ultimate build, because duel SLI looks soooo cooool, the whole build is opulent to the extream, but if i could...I would.

This is a very nice setup... Makes me think me a lot of a redeux of the TJ07 from TechMaxTV from yesteryear... Cleaner wiring too! Heck, if you know any German translators, a mesh-up build would be epic!

So why did you decide to use two seperate 8-pin EPS cables instead of the pro combined 8x8-pin cable kit? Legit wondering since I'm considering those cables for my next build.

ChintzyPC if I had to guess I’d say it’s because CableMod only offers the “pro” option on the individual cables (which is the option that comes with the higher quality cable combs). If you get the 4+4 pin EPS connector or the 8+8 pin PCI power connector then the pro option isn’t available. So long story short: he probably wanted the ones that come with cable combs

Also you don't need to use 2x 8 cpu connectors

I think beyond the 3800x it's Starts to be required to plug them in for insurance to be on the safe side when overclocked. That's just my taught train as a newb pc builder. Starting my 1st build soon.

@Zach Campbell Last I looked you can still get a combined set with the pro versions and the pro's can come with combs if you want. I guess they may have changed this since I last looked. @@Rainbow__cookie It's safer to use 2x8, but as Buildzoid has pointed out you're right, it's not absolutely necessary with today's chips. They won't draw enough to really need it even on LN2. I'll be using two though since I can afford it, I might get an upgrade that could require it later on, and it's more aesthetically pleasing.
