A common misconception is that, to pursue a medical career you have to be super passionate from day 1 and you shouldn't have any second thoughts about it or else medicine is not for you. I think your story highlights that it's okay to try a different path before coming to the conclusion of studying medicine. Personally I've always wanted to study medicine however after to my undergrad I had a lot of doubt such as am I intellectually capable, can I afford it, what about family?? So it's really refreshing to see someone who shares similar feelings. Maha I'm rooting for you wish you the best of luck!

Fatima A Study as hard as you can, so when you wake up on the exam-morning you have no reason to think 'i could study more'. There is no better feeling that that, and all time you spend studying is worth it :) good luck 💞

I am Muslim and Egyptian but unfortunately I'm in Egypt .. and my dream was to study in a med school abroad where I can have a real education but again I didn't study enough in secondary school and I'm now in physical therapy university in Egypt and everything is just wrong and don't know how I could even try to achieve my original dream .. Although Im in college now, it is my last year, and I have spent the last 3 years in and out of the medicine path. But alhamdulliah I have decided that this is what I want to do. This is great!! I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who was dissatisfied with medicine at first! I was a Pre-Med major my freshman year but dropped it because of how competitive and cold everyone and switched to business. However, everyday I missed the science classes and my passion for medicine was still there and knew I had to switch back before it was too late! Now, as a junior, I’m going to take the rest of my Pre-Med classes knowing the environment and determined to get into medical school 😤😤

I came back and re-watched this and I'm tearing up...as a junior high student who is set on pursuing a career in medicine, this is so inspiring to watch. The ceremony really highlights the rewarding parts of med school and it's nice to know that it's not always "study, study, study" and that you do get to make lifelong friendships and have fun along the way. Your channel is seriously amazing and I hope you continue to make videos for as long as they make you happy :)

I'm taking it one day at a time and continue praying that God would grant me this same opportunity. I've declared that next year I WILL receive my white coat! #whitecoat2019. Hey first of all I love your channel even though I myself have no intentions to go to medical school (I think) but I just find it fascinating that doctors can do what they do. I myself am in sophomore year of college and like your previous self am interested in research , I'm glad you figured out that you are happier working with people rather than in a lab.
