    Omg I absolutely love this. I can’t wait to get my African Grey to start flying. It’s currently not safe for Lelu to fly in my small house but when me and my wife buy our house hopefully in 6 months I’m going to let her wings grow in and start flight training her. Thank you again for your awesome videos. I will continue to watch them as you post them. BTW congrats on you new home 🏡 🕊🦜🐦🪶

    Harlan eats a lot of fresh vegetables and also likes carrots. They've been convenient to get since we live very close to a Whole Foods. During the pandemic though I have started keeping on hand some frozen vegetables to avoid frequent trips to the store. I found a mix of sliced, multi colored carrots, frozen and Harlan loves them. They soft like cooked when they thaw out and the colors add interest.

    Brilliant 👏 Wow, Smokey! She's got the best parrot daddy ever. You and Smokey have the most heartwarming ❤ bond. You make me smile... and I learn in every video. I respect you very much. It was so good to see Snuggles too! I just lost my 14 year old pomeranian so you are right to cherish every moment. My previous pomeranian passed at 18 years old. These little breeds live a long time! Did you train Snuggles too? Or was it your wife, as I saw her handle the dog quite a lot? Once again thanks for sharing your awesome bird.

    Hi! I observed most of your videos here, thanks for the great content! Could you please make a video explaining the whole story about the first days with Smokey. How it was, what things you did first, how Smokey went out of her cage and etc. could you tell the whole story about being with her from the very beginning, please? I have my new girl, she’s 6 months and i want to build healthy relationship with her, but some things are not too much successful, so I would really appreciate to learn your experience to understand better basis for the ‘begging days’. Thank you a lot!❤️

    it's a good start, but there's a lot more to learn. make sure you do plenty of research before you get one! Parrots are the #1 re-homed animal because so many people don't realize what they're getting into. Greys can live for 60+ years, if properly cared for!

    Do you ever worry that you are feeding Smokey too many seeds? I've been told not to feed seeds as they are too fattening and not healthy. But Smokey looks great, so... How is her blood work? I love seeing how you have trained her, so differently than most.

    Just got mine 4months ago, she's 4 she won't step up and will bite.. she only sits on door of her cage but goes in for me. At night when I say time for night night. And. She's sooooooooo Dusty, probably because I can't get her out to bath in the shower.

  • @tzxazrael

    @tzxazrael

    Greys simple ARE dusty birds... even if you can teach her to enjoy showering/bathing, she's still going to be a dusty bird most of the time. But it sounds like your relationship is moving ok. give her time, she'll get to know you and you can develop your relationship more!

    My African Grey, Jake, 14 years old and I got him when he was 6 years old. He was in quite a bad way when I bought him, he had his wings clipped and couldn't fly. He was also a plucker and had a terrible diet. Now his wings have grown and his diet is great - he's on pellets and fresh fruit and veg. I have lots of time with him and I love him so much. But he has started plucking again - and it's getting worse. I've taken him to the vet and he's had lots of tests, x-rays etc. but nothing is wrong with him. I don't go out to work so he has lots of time with me so doesn't get bored. What can I do to help him to stop pulling out his beautiful feathers?

    I just bought a 6 months Dutch Gray Parrot, The problem is sometimes he flies around the house and sit on the roof (where have some edges), and i can't bring him back or call him to come to me...! What's the best way to prevent this behavior, or control this behavior? Should i trim or tie his feathers(wings) as a start at least?. Thanks in advance.

    I have a 6 mon old african grey congo and it is biting me a lot have any tips?

  • @tzxazrael

    @tzxazrael

    3 жыл бұрын

    first step is to figure out WHY they're biting you. do they want something? are they trying to AVOID something? eg, maybe you're being too pushy and not giving them their own space... Smokey's been with her owner for many years, and there's been a lot of work building their relationship. all birds are individuals, so just because you see Smokey behaving a certain way doesn't mean all Greys will act like that.

    I have a similar cage made by HQ. It's very well made. I purchased it from Andy's Pet shop in San Jose, California, and they even put it together for me, no extra charge. The cost was under $400, which is a lot cheaper than stainless steel cages that are often made in China and are of very poor quality.

  • @Mara-qr3ut

    @Mara-qr3ut

    3 жыл бұрын

    wingsNpaws is such an amazing owner, i think if he tried to freefly he'd do amazing with her, but unfortunately greys are one of the more difficult species to freefly. Smokey stays outside in her aviary a lot so she's likely desensitised to most things though.
