Phew, good to know that you guys are ok. Was wanting to ask. My baby African Grey used to love me the most for her first 2 months and now shes one year, today's her birthday/hatchday... She's not so interested in me but loves my wife. Any idea how to become her favourite again...

Well, I'll go with the foraging toys and the vacuum cleaner. I have a small cage for my bird but I live in a 2 bedroom apartment and my bird is only in the cage at night to sleep. He's a green cheek conure which is also free flight trained and he comes with me everywhere so he doesn't need a big cage to get enough exercise. But I'd definitely recommend the aviary for someone who works 8 hours a day and the bird needs to be 5 days a week all that time caged. I can not recommend your videos enough, especially to new bird owners. You really encourage what I consider the most important things for captive birds in the most respectful manner. You have enough followers to be making a good impact on a lot of birds' lives. I hope I can help getting more people to listen to what you have to say for their bird's sake. Thank you, I am very proud of you (I probably sound like your mother hahaha)

Your videos are always so wonderful, I wish every parrot owner could be like you! My additional essentials for keeping my budgies are definitely a safe/quality bird carrier since my birds travel and take vet visits very well when provided a good sturdy carrier, an emergency backup cage or travel cage in case one of my birds needs to be quarantined and for smoothing over the process of moving from apartment to apartment, when I have to move my birds always have a home set up for them while their giant flight cage is on it's way, and finally, a bird first aid kit with certain medications (stress meds, antibiotics and anti-mite meds as recommended by a vet), cornstarch and hemostats in case of a broken blood feather and hand feeding formula.

You have very good vids. I had no idea such birds were very expensive, as well as the investment in cages, toys, training, time, fresh food prep and the fact that you have to get parrot sitters if you go on vacation or business trips. It's not the same as sending a cat or dog to be cared fir. These are different animals and could get emotionally scarred. It's like adopting a young child. You have to homeschool it and instead of clothes, provide toys and stimulation. It's great to see these vids, but it makes you realize your limitations.

Idk if its applicable for me because he really is very devilish but i love how you took the time to go over different scenarios. I would like your take on how to get your bird to stop plucking his feathers.if you could maybe make a video on feather maintenance and how to stop this bad behavior I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

Always glad to see sweet Smokey. Love the aviary and pleasant courtyard you have created. My grey has a huge corner cage about 6 feet tall but spends most his day hanging out on top of it or on one of his hanging ropes. He has the large kitchen/dining area to fly in and is good at doing figure 8s around the room. (He is safely confined if I am cooking but can join us for meals). One day I hope to build him an outside aviary attached to the house so he can go in and out by himself during nice weather.

I kept reading next I wanted any kind of conure, I did not want a large parrot as a first time bird owner. Next I decided that Indian ringnecks matched my personality perfect. I but a deposit down with The Best Bird Avairy in Flordia and I am waiting and still researching. You give the best advice of any of the tou tube guys, thank you.

Aaawe..I luv her too.. great vid and ty I appreciate all the hard work and dedication it takes to make these vids... waiting on my conure ...w be here Wednesday... my lovebird was 19 and passed in November. I don’t have any experience w a conure parrot so I’m watching, watching, learning all I can and I thank you for the help. Only thing I can think of you didn’t mention maybe is paper towels to line the bottom of the cage.. I also bought a uv light because I saw that they need the vitamin D to absorb the nutrients we feed them...my lovebird lived to be 19 on a seed diet only and millet... I wouldn’t recommend that, lol, but I want to give my new baby every opportunity to flourish. Reason for the light is because I don’t have a nice back yard to take my bird outside so if he’s only inside that’s why I feel my bird might benefit from a up light.

She is plucked raw but improving. I'm moving very slow as she is extremely fearful of everything. She is only 14yrs old. Devah. She can step up now.

I have a front deck that all I have to do is close half of it in. so they can stay outside during the daytime. of course while I'm there. I'm. so impressed in your information about your darling smoky. my avery bites me when he gets out he doesn't want to go back in. so what can I do to keep him from biting me when I put him up. plus I think his cage is to small. we had built an aviary outside for our macaw & smaller parrots out of a trampoline frame & wire, it's shaped like a tall dome. it's absolutely huge & big enough for a couple macaws if we were crazy enough to have more than 1 haha. Now if the weather could compromise with us! being in florida, the storms & heat make it difficult for spending too much time outside, at least until we've finished the weather protections & misting lines

I don’t have a bird yet, but I’m picking up a young Indian ringneck and we have a very long drive home ( 7 hours). What can I do to make the experiment the least stressful for him? And prevent him the best I can from getting driving sick. Will “relaxobird” ( offers sound therapy ) or any stressmix added to his foot help ? I read somewhere that I should not talk to him cause on our way home because then he would relate my voice to this stressful experience later on 😔( bad start to our relationship). Please help. I searched through your videos, and couldnt find anything about transporting a new bird home.

Hi! Since you stopped posturing, I now have a a bird myself a rescue blue front Amazon 40 yrs old, and when I was preparing to get him, which took a year, I watched a lot of your work. He was a very aggressive bird and I had to ignore all the blood. Your video on biting was great especially the bit where the bird doesn’t want to hurt you anymore, but nips too hard. You suggested we yell and walk out on the bird. The bird has been really careful since. I don’t know if I would have got him without the support of your videos. So you see I am delighted to hear you are back 🙏🏾

Loadss of love to Smokeyy😘😘😘, you have done a commendable job on her and absolutely loved the aviary, i have a question though! Where does Smokey stay during winters and rains? And do you cover her up at night?

Thanks for the video! It’s really helpful! I am considering to get an aviary but I worried that my African grey would fly away when I enter or leave the aviary. Do you have any advice on this? Thanks a lot!

Great and informative videos. Thanks. Could you please share how to stop the tail red feather falling off? We do not see new feather coming, only falling. What if there is no more red feather left? Many thanks.

I really like your new big aviary. I have a hexagon for my Eclectus, Yoshi is not in there all day so the size is just right for us. My question is since we had unusually much rain this year I see the ropes are partly black I assume mold. I was advised to use 10% bleach and water and rinse, rinse it off. It this safe??? Thx in advance!

Smokey is an exemplary parrot. May I request a tutorial on how you made Smokey's perch stand used in this video? Especially the kind of wood used and how you fastened the platform to the base of the branch? Thanks so much
