My OWN pouring medium like Artist Loft Ready Pour / Acrylic Pouring / Fluid Art / Wreck a Ring
I have been on a quest to make my own pouring medium that has similar qualities to the artist loft ready pour paints. Why you may ask?......I have no idea LOL. Really though, i love how glossy it dries and i love the translucent effects it has and i love that there are no cells! I am still perfecting this process, bur i think i did pretty well for my first try! What do you guys think?

Pouring medium: 1 part liquitex pouring medium, 1 part gloss medium and varnish and 1/2 part liquitex high gloss varnish. mixed 1 to 2 with paint and then more liquitex high gloss varnish to thin to desired consistency. I am still playing around with ratios.
Hope you enjoy the video! Thank you so much for watching. Happy painting!
I am so happy that I found acrylic pouring/fluid art a few years ago. It has helped me in so many ways and it just keeps getting better and better. This visual arts creative outlet has made me so happy. I am loving this abstract art! I hope to keep doing this for years to come! I have always been fascinated by modern and contemporary art. There is something about it that is so freeing and expressive. I love acrylic pouring because I get to experiment and really join the creative side of my brain with the scientific part! There are so many different fluid acrylic pouring techniques out there, so much more to try and have fun with. Make sure you are subscribed to my channel so that you may learn and be creative with me. I love hearing all of your comments. Great idea! It WILL allow for endless color choices and I don't know about other areas but, around here Michael's cannot keep Artist Loft ready mix in stock. I'm metering mine out.

Curios, with the glossy finish do you still intend to varnish the painting?
I so appreciate artists like you, who spend the money to experiment and then share their knowledge with the rest of us. Thank you Molly! Have a very Merry Christmas!

Can you come up with a pouring medium that doesn't require the selling of all my teeth to the tooth fairy, but still has a sheen to it? I wish I could afford all those, but I've just been saving up for artists loft medium!
I love this piece!
This is fabulous!
Thank you for all the research you do and share with everyone! You're a fantastic artist! Love the painting.

I am a Liquitex pouring medium queen. It is my absolute favorite to use.
Beautiful painting Molly. I love that you experiment with products for the look you want. Glazing medium is another additive that I have found that will increase transparency.
Genius!!!
It's awesome! Thank you for being so thorough. You are an inspiration! I poured my first little canvas today and I'm pretty proud lol. Tree ring pour I couldn't do it first 3 times I tried. so I didnt try it for a while next time Bam I cant believe the improvement! Lot of thanks goes to you. You are a good teacher. 🤩 Oh I love this so much! I really like The Artist's Loft ready to pour paint with some of my projects, however, I'm in Orlando, and you cannot find it ANYWHERE. The only thing they have is the starter kit, no full size bottles. Being able to make a medium that gives similar results with my own colors makes me a very happy girl 😊 You're the best, Molly!
Beautiful! I’ve only managed to buy one red bottle of AL ready to pour paint in August , the Micheal’s in Ottawa have been out of stock of every shade since. So happy you’re coming up with this PM 😃
Love the aurora boreal is look around the translucent areas🙏🏼👩🏻🎨🎨🦋💚
Love the layering affect! Gives the painting definition and w/o cells your eye can go to so many more places. When we move back to the states from a Italy, we are moving to Florida, so I want to visit your shop.♥️
10.36 pm Fabulous Molly😊
Beautiful 😘👏🏻👏🏻🐇🐇
Wow Molly I absolutely Love this it reminds me of "River's & Valleys" we have here, absolutely love the colours!!! Gee watching your Art Work fascinate me you could see the high shine as you were moving it & how accurate you were with the amount paint you needed...😀
Looks awesome Molly. I’d buy your version of it. 😊
Real purdy Molly! ❤🌲❤🇨🇦
Muy bello👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Yeah that would get costly ... I only use my liquitex high gloss on paintings that I really love . Check out the new Pebeo pouring medium also if you get a chance . Its a little expensive also but works sort of the same with no cells and a super shiny finish . Christina Welch has done a few with it but she prefers cells in her pours & uses the silicone also but I do not so I ordered some of the medium and a few colors and can't wait to play with them . I think some Michael's may carry it but of course mine does not so I had to order from Blick. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Thanks for sharing Molly
WOW
It did turn out very tropical and Florida-ish. Had me worried at the beginning, it looked like UF Gators colors 🐊. I love how it turned out.
This came out so cool. I love the artist loft ready mixed pouring paint. The best way to get them at Michaels, when they have them, is with a coupon. Every time I go to Michaels and I see a color/colors, I purchase them. I get hubby in on using the coupon too. 😁

Beautiful! Sorry this post is going to be so long, but it's just how I am. I can't seem to describe things without a lot of words. With all the comments you get, I'm sure you don't remember me specifically, but I originally hesitated to even TRY to start painting, because I've always been sure I'll screw up anything I try to do. With your encouragement, I forged ahead and have kept trying. (thank you again). Some of my paintings have been okay; just kind of interesting. Some are kind of pretty. Recently, I attempted a technique I saw on another channel: pouring a ring, leaving the center empty, then stacking colors on top of the ring. Then using a stick (or whatever) to drag the ring out a bunch of times to make "tendrils", sort of making it look like tails from a spinning ring. After that, she worked in the center, adding color and playing around in there. Hers looked amazing! I wanted to make 3 rings - small, medium and large - and it was really bad, LOL! Finally, I scraped all the paint off and quit for the evening. The next evening, I tried again and discovered I didn't have enough white so I mixed in some brown to make beige, but it still wasn't enough. But it was already on the canvas, so I thought it might make a neat effect and continued. I was wrong! It was bad, very bad. And the more I tried to fix it, the worse it got. So, I gave up on that one. But I had paint left over and didn't want to waste it, so I started a different one. Chapter 2. - - Sorry this is so long, but I can't help it and this is a MUCH better chapter! The next one was going to be my first try at a ring pour, so I used black for my base, got my colors "stacked" in the cup and dove in. It was immediately obvious I had way too much paint in the cup, but it was too late. I can't seem to ever get the paint to come out just a little at a time to make rings; it just all blops out in more of a waterfall than a thin stream. So, I just poured it on the canvas and hoped something good would happen. It did!! At first, it just looked like a layer of mostly black, but then the colors started showing through and THEN cells started popping up! I was so excited I was jumping up and down and freaked out my dogs, LOL! So, I stretched it out this way and that and ended up with a painting that I love! It's just too cool; can't believe it! I had been using DecoArt paints, but had to stop at Walmart (ptooeey) for some and they only had Apple Barrel, so this one was a mixture of the 2 brands. Could combination of the brands have caused the cells? Or maybe Apple Barrel brings about cells more than the DecoArt? Interestingly, yesterday Walmart hardly had any paints left so I ended up at Hobby Lobby and they only had 2 brands and I ended up getting Anita's. Should be interesting to see what a combination of THREE brands does! (I forgot to get pouring medium, dangit! I'll just have to do without)

Hahaha, you are quite the story teller! Thank you for sharing this was fun to read. Just be careful with apple barrel white as it can crack. Yes i think mixing different brands brings up cells. And when you are trying items paintings and it doesn't come out like theirs, so what?! I bet yours is awesome for different reasons. And get some pouring medium soon lol!

@@MOLLYSARTISTRY Oooh, the only Apple Barrel they had at WallyWorld was white and I got a good sized bottle of it. Anything I can do to lessen the chance of cracking? Actually, the one I love is, I think, the only one I've done that hasn't had any cracking at all!

@@jennydrumm7223 some people don't have issues but I just know almost every one I did with apple barrel cracked when I first started. Gloss more than matte. Yes supplies have been scarce!

@@MOLLYSARTISTRY Oh, yes! A lot of the colors are empty on the aisle, but white is almost non-existent! Any chance a pouring medium might help tone down the cracking? Or floetrol?
Hi Mrs. Molly, I miss watching your videos but this painting is pretty. Merry Christmas 🎄☃️
There’s a Slimer in there! At 10:53 I can see him on the right side of the painting. If you orient the painting so the green is on the bottom you’ll see a blobby figure with what looks like Ray-bans over his eyes and a big goofy smile with some aqua-green teeth in a portion on top of his mouth. Almost as cool as my golden Grinch 🤪. Loving the colors. Very bold. Like a pre-psychedelic array. That one weird patch? I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Just draw attention to your Slimer and nobody will notice it.
I’ve been using Floetral, Liquitex PM, and water 1:1:1 for a little over a year now. I make my consistency thicker for flip cups and thinner for straight pours. My paintings come out smooth and glossy. It’s really hard to beat.
Love the way this turned out. I also don't want the cells from Floetrol, so thanks for figuring out this medium. In the formula, is it one part paint to two parts medium? Thanks for all you do!!
Love your careful tilting. I'm glad you are so pleased with your first successful pouring recipe. Just wish you didn't have to use 4 chemicals. I care about your skin and health. Very glossy, glorious painting.
If you don't want cells and don't want to spend a lot of money (Golden fluid is the best brand to not get cells but damn are they expensive) all you gotta do is not use Floetrol and not mix brands of paint in a painting. Mixing brands (ingredients) helps create cells and I believe Floetrol does too. Some brands create cells easily like Artist Loft. I would not use that brand if I didn't want cells. I find that the Liquitex basics don't create cells easy so just a little p.m. and water, you're good to go :) Sometimes you just gotta simplify!

Hahaha, thank you! I agree with above, I just love how gloss medium keeps the colors so bright and I love the glossy finish! You are right golden is very expensive, as are the mediums I used here. I don't know if you can get it in canada, but creative inspirations gloss medium and varnish is my go to gloss medium that is relatively inexpensive compared to others. I use it in a lot of my mediums depending on the effect. Happy holidays to you and your family melissa! ♥️

I love what the green did, looks like a face profile futuristic ailen type humanoid figure. From my perspective on my phone, at least..
Can you explain why my pour paintings dry with lots of tiny bumps. I do torch for air bubbles. Maybe not enough? are there impurities in the paints?
I’ve just started watching this and I love it. What do you mean by , cells, and what are you using to blow on the paint and why is it done? Thanks

Hi! I used a torch to pop the site bubbles. Cells are a term for circular shapes in the painting, this didn't have any in it
Try epoxy resin works for me I mix it with paint pour paint on top of it wile wet can use ink in it or drop ink on top can also be used as a pouring medium but its shiny add corn starch to bull it out. Glue works to.
I love Marcy's videos too! I'm amazed your orange didn't take over. Orange and I do not get along for some reason!?🤔🤕 I just love this painting! Very tropical banana leaf feeling to me! Doesn't Mina put the liquitex varnish in her paint too? I can't remember...dain bramaged!🤕😂 Love this!!!
