It'll work. Engine timing covers sometimes use a similar design. Though I would suggest using an anaerobic sealant, such as Ford TA-29.
I would use permatex anaerobic sealant. Volvo uses it for their oil pans and upper heads (there is no valve cover, the head splits in half to reveal the cam in its entirety), and that stuff almost NEVER fails. You will pop cam seals and crankshaft seals and every other gasket and hose on that engine before you spring a leak from the seal between the block and oil pan or the upper and lower head.
I use "the right stuff" because it hardens to rubber in about an hour.
his only problem is his lack of finesse ?
Don't see a reason you couldnt use a normal gasket with some rtv on the cover side if that doesnt work

I’m sure will work just fine. High temperature was just the only thing I had laying around.

@@harperbrothersgarage5840 should be fine, I think it's Nissan, but at least one of the Japanese manufacturers avoids gaskets if they can and says to use sealant just about everything. I trust rtv more then I trust me not nicking an o-ring lol. Also, in case you need it in the future, you can buy o ring stock and use super glue to basically make your own in whatever length you need
