I am watching this video sitting in my living room crying like an idiot because I am so happy that you are making this movie. I so love this book. I taught Sunday School and worked in Children's Church etc. What really kills me about this book is that for 30 years I worked in the public school system as a Special Education Paraeducator. For 30 years the Herdmans, in one form or another, were my babies. I know you will do an amazing job on this movie. I can't wait to see it. I will be in prayer for you all.

Growing up in a rural pastor's family in the 80's, we LOVED this story and I still watch the old TV movie every year at Christmas with my daughters. Funny thing is, I'm now an indie filmmaker and I too have been researching the rights to this for years, wanting to remake it as a longer feature film (the original TV movie is very short, yet somehow still very powerful). Since the rights weren't available, I instead wrote a Christmas script where the main character says it's her favorite Christmas movie and then the guy brings a copy for them to watch when she's at a low moment. It's a turning-point for both characters and they start to see their own stories differently. I remember thinking, "maybe that scene will cause someone to track down the original book or movie" because I too feel like this story can change lives. Yet I too didn't want anyone else to remake it and screw it up, so I had to laugh when I heard that you (Dallas) were remaking it because there's literally NO OTHER living director that I would be okay with doing this. Then I see this video and realize that you've been preparing your whole career for this and, because of your platform, more people will see it than I could ever bring to the theater! God is so good and His plans are perfect! Dallas, you were "chosen" for such a time as this. Movies don't save people... only the Spirit can do that... but God is directing this and He's picked you as His humble A.D. so serve HIS vision and this film will plant good seed in so many fertile hearts! P.S. I'm now adding "Pray for Pageant" to my weekly calendar.

I love the Chosen, and my husband and I saw season 4 in the movie theater. Now we are showing season for to our adult children. They love it! Dallas, you will do well directing this. Can't WAIT to see it in November!

I Will keep watch for this new bit of your work to be released (along with the upcoming seasons of The Chosen). The Messengers & The Shepherd mix to come as well...🎄 I've always had a soft spot for Christmas stories myself. That you have a lot on your plate goes without saying...but have you considered a Christmas story/film as seen from the Wisemen's perspective? When I was young (60+ years ago) I remember one called Amahl & the Night Visitors. (I based a Sunday School pageant on it myself 20 some years ago). I'm sitting here listening to you & Amanda talking about acquiring the rights & all that's involved. But I've no doubt whatsoever that should you & your band of geniuses take on such a task...it would be something special...Keep up the good work & God Bless you all..~prayers are with you~
