I just bought my 2020 R dynamic V6 Range Rover Velar I love it! It is just freakin gorgeous and drives so smooth! Love your videos! That Velar is of course gorgeous!

This was one big lump of pure klass... Take a bow guys.... You've hit the nail on the head with the simple but Oooh so effective first person shots when getting into the velar and then open up... Great work, GREAT WORK... We salute you😉

I'm not a fan of the air but seems to be like the world over. BUT, look at how many times Volvo vs. Range Rover gets into a workshop with expensive repair costs. So in Sweden, state-owned independent organizations are called: Motor men. So, Range Rover's all models are highly overrepresented. Furthermore, we have Swedish car tests that ensure road safety is safe. Even there, Range Rover is the one who is most wrong with the car after just two years (when a car turns 2 years old, they will be inspected). I like Self Range Rover, but one can not ignore the facts.

surely Sam you want the RS3 Saloon, you did a video on it, you couldn't wait for it. I love a RR, but really, Just RS3 Saloon. Simple.

Sold! Get it bought. The polar oposite of a manual 360. Perfect. A daily doesn't need to be sporty. It should really be anything but so that your 'weekend' toy shines brighter....and lets not forget you drive a shed load of special stuf that isn't yours... so a bit of high riding, tech festy, graceful, comfort is JUST what the doc orders...

The good thing about buying a Velar is that contrasts nicely with the 360. One is a comfortable, stylish and luxurious daily and the other a supercar for those precious moments to trash it. As for covering all purposes, spot on I'd say.

Was that Sam's original goal? I know that was/is the goal of Paul from SoL but I wasn't aware Sam's goal was that - I thought he said it was just because the Abarth is such a bare-bones uncomfortable daily driver he wanted something better and the Ferrari is just because he's always wanted a Ferrari. You sure as shit don't buy a 360 to save money... unless you'll save the money by never driving it and thus not have to worry about the constant repair and maintenance costs. There have been so many different videos of him discussing this stuff maybe I missed one or have forgotten about it.

I never thought I’d recommend an suv, but this looks the bizz! Inside and out!

This is my dream car! I've loved the Velar since first seeing it online. I live in the States and haven't seen one, in person, yet. Hopefully, at next week's car show. I vote Velar!

Cancelled my 1st edition, it's too low and not big enough also overpriced, will stick with my RS6 performance

What about the new BMW X3 m40i or audi SQ5? Not as cool as the velar but defiantly got some performance

The E60 M5 is a horrendous daily. Horrendous fuel economy and a maintenance nightmare. If Sam thinks a Ferrari 360 is going to be a money pit, an E60 M5 will be a money crater.

Honestly, you can get good fuel economy if you don't have all your settings in sport lol. I get pretty good mileage in my E90 M3 when Im in all comfort settings, I've dropped down to about 9.7L/100KM which is better than the Toyota Highlander Hybrid we have. (That has a V6)

I'm not sure of actual policies in that regard but I don't think many manufacturers officially will sell newer model cars without an engine to individual customers however there is a guy I know around here I've done work for in the past who's a huge gearhead that has managed to get 3 newer model vehicles without engines by contacting the manufacturers directly and talking to the right people - he had custom built engines he wanted to toss in them. Those were not "high-end" cars though, if I remember correctly it was 2 Fords and a Chevy and they cost almost the same as with having engines because the companies added "special order" fees to the price(but the labor savings of not having to remove the engines made up for the $$). It wouldn't hurt to give them a call and ask them about it though, the worst thing they could do is say no. If you were a company that was looking to buy a large number of vehicles to customize as a 'special edition' type deal then I'm sure the manufacturers would be happy to do business but for individual sales I have no idea what their policies are.

Edit: in fairness to my stupidity his wording isn't the best, 'with a different engine' would have been better than 'without the engine'... but yeah, I misread it.

I absolutely the Velar!! It’s one of the best looking Land Rover products ever and is the car you should buy!! Makes me want to look at one for my next car!

Love the drive and commentary, excellent vehicle and well showcased. I know that new vehicles are generally exciting to be in however you need to be mindful of keeping hands on the wheel at al times, even at slow speed, especially when presenting to the public as you are doing, but it does not detract from a great presentation, well done.

I AM going to give you a huge 'leg up' on this vehicle. I test drove this today as I am looking to replace my 2006 XJR which has been magnificent but sadly deemed a total loss as it was hit in front of my house in October 2017. As far as the XJRJag went (and I think you are interested) it was my most lustful drive, not without shortcomings. It got looks and compliments almost every day through my ownership. It was NOT the best drive in western Canada in the winter...even with winter tyres! Still---used it, loved it! I get where you are coming from... you have some sort of emotional attachment to the dealership because of your parent's loyalty to the dealership and brand. From where I stand, the Velar was BEAUTIFUL. Loved the tech!!! The drive and engine was not to my expectation in terms of power/impressiveness. 6 cylinder/ supercharged... it is WAY less than 8 cylinders/supercharged of the XJR. In Canada, the Velar will stand out. The tech is amazing! Would I be bored with it in 2 or 3 years? yes. The tech is changing as we speak--- the only thing left is the performance--- boring. Here is the deal: it is expensive! In Canada at this price point, we have lots of competition. Range Rover is is all about exclusivity. It is not about performance with the Velar. So--- this is the part I am gifting to you, my friend. Given your apparent age and the climate you live in (assuming 'snow' is not your average climatic condition), you are going to love and appreciate the Jaguar F type way more than the Velar. It will thrill you every drive long after the tech of the Velar has worn thin. I loved the the Velar. BUT... at over $100,000 Canadian, maybe not. Anyway- those are my thoughts. Victor

It basically isn't though. I'd say it's more similar to the RRS, but not remotely similar to the Evoque. That's a strange observation though.

It's actually mechanically identical to the Jaguar F Pace. This particular one even has the same supercharged V6, it's just that the Velar is geared more towards comfort and off road ability, whereas the Jag is aimed at sportiness and handling

It was interesting to see your thoughts on the Velar as I was able to get my hands on one last week for a short but sweet drive. I drove the HSE with the 2.0 litre diesel and it's a lovely place to be, but it's not my sort of car. The car definitely has a lot of appeal though and I think it will sell well.

A superb elegant drive....the British are reinventing their game -;)
