Simplest solution is to raise the section for feeding the ants by putting some books or magazines under it until it’s almost level with the other section, then gently separate them until the clear hose is nearly straight. Now the ants should easily be able to get from one section to another. Happy ants. 😊

Great video man! Been so long since I’ve seen these nest in use! Nice to see a video not made by them self 😆 my ants never decided to dig but maybe I under watered it 🤷🏻♂️😅
@LightsCameraAnts
Жыл бұрын
Yeah I don’t see them used as often as other nests. I’d assume you did everything right as some species might not like the feel of the digfix material. The ANTCUBE Camponotus and Messor colonies seem to like the material so I guess it’s a little species dependent.

Thank you so much for being... Normal. I've been looking for a good ant KZreadr for a while and they all seem to need some sort of gimmick, in their voice, in their content, etc There's no need for all that I'm just interested in ants! So your content is very much appreciated
Tip for slippery tubes: use a hemp string or something natural that’s good for a string😊

$300 for a tiny setup just seems absurd... You can get a huge reptile enclosure for waaaay less. Also the tubing being too slippery for ants to walk on seems like a massive design flaw..

@Maria Perez hard to make does not equal $300, especially when you can buy something 3 times the size of it for $200 To even argue it's worth $300 is a complete joke just because it's made out of glass doesn't equal it can charge 4 times the price of other companies it's a complete and utter joke.

First of all, let's not compare ant setups to reptile enclosures. They are completely different animals with different needs and requirements. And as for the price, again, it's all about convenience and quality. Yes, you can probably find a cheaper setup somewhere else, but is it going to be the same quality? Is it going to have the same features? Is it going to last as long? It's up to the buyer to decide if they want to spend a little extra for a product that they know is going to be good. As for the tubing being slippery, I'm not sure where you're getting your information from, but I've personally used this setup and have never had any issues with the ants slipping. It's made specifically for them and their needs, so I highly doubt that it's a design flaw. But everyone has their own opinions and experiences, so I respect yours as well.

Your actually very wrong a tank for an adult male ball python costs 400$+ not including the 200$+ for the snake depending on albino or not😊
We shouldn’t be comparing ant farms to reptile enclosures. Ants are insects, reptiles are animals. While they are both creatures, reptiles and ants have far different needs, enclosure sizes, humidity and temperature levels, etc. which may be hard to maintain if you kept ants in a glass or wired reptiles cage. Ants are better off in thinner enclosures, which are deeper in depth. They need this to make nests, it’s essential. However some reptiles will need a taller enclosure for climbing or hiding. Other like tortoises for example might need thick substrate to Brumate and bury themselves. Thanks for your time

@LightsCameraAnts
Жыл бұрын
Yeah they are definitely on the more expensive side of the ant keeping realm but worth it. Idk if it’s possible for them to be produced with lower cost but it seems like for now the prices will have to stay at what they are.
I WATCH THIS 24/7 THIS IS NICE
the ants: *steve do you know why we're in this flat world*
As a german person, I know that Carebara Diversa do well in the Antstore Germany nests (AntCube)
You could have just put the outworld on a small stand to even the height difference a bit.
I don’t know why but my family kinda hate ants but I love them when their not crawling on me
If the tube was left at the original length you could probably flatten the climb by twisting it into a 360 degree spiral and move the cases closer together .
This is so obviously an ad it's hurting my brain lmao
this has inspired me to build an ant farm in roblox. not exactly ants inside, just normal people. thanks for the inspiration man! :D
I love your channel ❤ 💕 ♥ 💛 💖 💗 ❤ 💕 ♥ 💛

Wow a sand ant farm i known it's cool but if you need your ants to dig faster try with plants and cocofiber
The one thing that concerns me is that the nest seems to be exposed to light for long periods of time. Wouldn't this cause stress to the ants?

Ants can get used to light and not get stressed from it.
Elevating the shorter enclosure would alleviate the climbing difficulty within the tube.
did you think to elevate the forage box ? set in on something to get the tube more "climbable" ?
@KINGK20092009
Жыл бұрын
I had the same thought as they'd have no problems with a leveled off tube
Very Interesting
A jar inside of a jar works extremely well. (Save your utz's cheese ball containers!) You put their food (sugar) and water on top of the cap of the inside jar. And poke pin holes in the lid of the big jar.
I’d just raise up the smaller box up so the tubing was flat so any species could go back and forth
What kind of sand is it? Seems so clean.
imagine raising the feeding area up a bit so there would be no stipe for them to struggle with
I got the same thin ant farm for just 12 bucks
4:10 you could of also elevated the foraging area so the tubing was straight, ya know.
This Man will do anything for his viewers🤩
I would probably like this a bit. I like being able to “play god” and what I mean is being able to watch over small creatures and do whatever
I got a RAID ad for this video, lol.
AWESOME
Where do you get the ants? Do you catch them or buy them?
For a moment i saw the full 60 fps shot and had a dopamine boost
Awesome
I thought this would be a video for glass ants in a farm and not a ant farm made of glass. I was hoping there would be cool see through ants or something but still a good vid
Since installing the Ant Cube ant farm in my living room women have been FLOCKING to my apartment non-stop. Highly recommended.
It looo like a snail at the end
You could have saved so much time by raising the glass enclosure with a wooden box to make the tube level with the farm
there so cute 🤗
I got the dig fix insert.....It did not last long with Solenopsis Geminata at all........
Awsome
im neither an ant expert nor a rocket scientist but wouldn't it make it easier for the ants to climb the tube if you where to raise the "outworld" area by a couple inches using any sort of spacer/stand? Something like a single wooden drawer(desk organizer) will probably lift it enough and will give you some decent storage while remaining aesthetic.
@LightsCameraAnts
Жыл бұрын
Yeah I think I saw another comment just like this and I agree. If I had an off set desk then it would have been the perfect place for this nest.
@senseiwu7814
Жыл бұрын
Yo, what's up with this comment, man? You ain't no ant expert or rocket scientist, but you think you can just waltz in here and try to give advice on how to improve this setup? I don't think so. And what's this about raisin' the 'outworld' area with some wooden drawer? That's just ridiculous. Maybe try to actually educate yourself on the subject before you go spoutin' off half-baked ideas. And don't try to act like you're all about aesthetics when you're suggestin' usin' some desk organizer. That's just cringey. So before you try to give any more unsolicited advice, maybe try to actually know what you're talkin' 'bout. Regenerate response

Hey i want to start ant keeping but im not sure where or how to start any tips?
*Ignores your warning* why did you cut the tube
For some reason I have a strange obsession over ants... At home, There is an ant nest outside, I didn't know at first but, I accidentally dug up their mest and saw ant eggs. The ants were running all over the place! I would love to get an ant farm, but, I don't even have $300! But When its my next birthday Im getting an ant farm.
Put a box under the other box and make the tube level
Would you test antscanada gear??
i have a question what if we catch queen ant with her eggs will she take caro of them or should i throw the eggs out
Cool
Bro, you have such an amazing camera! It focuses so good like a microscope ❤😂
You should put books below our world so it levels out the tube.
I had an ad about spray that kills ants when I clicked on the vid😂
Cool Yes SIR
Can you set a book under the outworld to raise its height so the tube is more level and not such a steep climb upward?

How did they put their logo in the dirt
you can buy that tubing at home depot
I'm looking for a cheap ant farm to Easly manage do you have any suggestions
Have you ever tried making your own ant farm
he should make one him salf❤❤
why didn't you just put some books under the first nest to elevate it or something and make the incline less steep?
i captured a alate and then traped it in a box and puted holes and puted rice for food then i wanted a idea to get a big box so i can put water then i waited for 2 hours and then wanted it to lay eggs then it didnt still

What about nest hydration?
@LightsCameraAnts
Жыл бұрын
There’s at least a few places within the nest for hydration. You can use the two ports towards the bottom sides of the nest or the expansion port at the top side. The ants can also get their water from outside the nest if you use the feeders given to store water instead of just sugars.
I decided to draw the rainbow for and at my drawing skills
Why didn’t you just lift up the box on the left?
