    Simplest solution is to raise the section for feeding the ants by putting some books or magazines under it until it’s almost level with the other section, then gently separate them until the clear hose is nearly straight. Now the ants should easily be able to get from one section to another. Happy ants. 😊

    $300 for a tiny setup just seems absurd... You can get a huge reptile enclosure for waaaay less. Also the tubing being too slippery for ants to walk on seems like a massive design flaw..

  • @senseiwu7814

    @senseiwu7814

    First of all, let's not compare ant setups to reptile enclosures. They are completely different animals with different needs and requirements. And as for the price, again, it's all about convenience and quality. Yes, you can probably find a cheaper setup somewhere else, but is it going to be the same quality? Is it going to have the same features? Is it going to last as long? It's up to the buyer to decide if they want to spend a little extra for a product that they know is going to be good. As for the tubing being slippery, I'm not sure where you're getting your information from, but I've personally used this setup and have never had any issues with the ants slipping. It's made specifically for them and their needs, so I highly doubt that it's a design flaw. But everyone has their own opinions and experiences, so I respect yours as well.

  • @rickdeacon7819
    @rickdeacon78195 ай бұрын

    We shouldn’t be comparing ant farms to reptile enclosures. Ants are insects, reptiles are animals. While they are both creatures, reptiles and ants have far different needs, enclosure sizes, humidity and temperature levels, etc. which may be hard to maintain if you kept ants in a glass or wired reptiles cage. Ants are better off in thinner enclosures, which are deeper in depth. They need this to make nests, it’s essential. However some reptiles will need a taller enclosure for climbing or hiding. Other like tortoises for example might need thick substrate to Brumate and bury themselves. Thanks for your time

    im neither an ant expert nor a rocket scientist but wouldn't it make it easier for the ants to climb the tube if you where to raise the "outworld" area by a couple inches using any sort of spacer/stand? Something like a single wooden drawer(desk organizer) will probably lift it enough and will give you some decent storage while remaining aesthetic.

    Yo, what's up with this comment, man? You ain't no ant expert or rocket scientist, but you think you can just waltz in here and try to give advice on how to improve this setup? I don't think so. And what's this about raisin' the 'outworld' area with some wooden drawer? That's just ridiculous. Maybe try to actually educate yourself on the subject before you go spoutin' off half-baked ideas. And don't try to act like you're all about aesthetics when you're suggestin' usin' some desk organizer. That's just cringey. So before you try to give any more unsolicited advice, maybe try to actually know what you're talkin' 'bout. Regenerate response

    What about nest hydration?

    There’s at least a few places within the nest for hydration. You can use the two ports towards the bottom sides of the nest or the expansion port at the top side. The ants can also get their water from outside the nest if you use the feeders given to store water instead of just sugars.
