For stealth I stopped using my cameras on a strap, or carrying a backpack. For a while I used briefcase style bags and wrist straps. Now I use non-flap top slings like this Bellroy in 6L or 10L with a PD wrist strap. For EDC I take single lens 40mm 2.5 G on a Sony A7C or a Voigtlander 35mm f2 on a Leica CL (a great experience), with my GR3x in for real stealth. Thanks for bringing this bag to my attention.

Congratulations on your channel! I upgraded to the x-t5 from the amazing x-t2 for main reasons: much improved autofocus for fast subjects and face recognition for my kids; and IBIS... everything else was a big bonus! I prefer the 16 1.4, the 33 and the 90. The 18 although better for cropping and faster autofocus , the 16 brings something different. The 18 is like phone pictures with better IQ. You should check the wotancraft pilot 7L. I use it this primes, and with extra dividers I can fit another F2. And it can be expanded!

My setup as a hobby photographer is: Xpro-2, X-M1, XF 35mm f1.4, XF 50mm f2, ttArtisan 27mm f2.8. It's all I need for a day and night walk. The X-M1 with 35mm is usually my night-time portrait combo, due to its built in flash, or for unobtrusive shots of people due to its very small size. All of these fit in a tiny sling bag (Nutsac Stachel 11), although I don't pad it, since I don't go easy on my gear.

I personally like either the Turnstyle 10 or Turnstyle 20 sling bags, both made by Think Tank. They are both more customizable to fit your photography equipment than the Bellroy. I use my 10 for local area travel and the slightly larger 20 for more extensive travel when I want to carry more lenses and accessories.

At the moment I have quite a messy lineup of lenses, but I end up using them all on my X--S10 for different reasons! Apart from the excellent XF 18-55mm, I have the Fringer adapter from EF to X mount and I continue to use the EF-S 10-18mm (it's very sharp and was quite affordable), the EF 50mm f/1.4 I bought with my first photography gig and the EF 100mm macro. I also recently started using the 7artisans 7.5mm!

Roman! A while since watching you and happened to hit on this bag change, looks good and soft flexible, I have Tenba and similar but totally understand and accept the softer flex feel, I actually have a Mantaray bag that is fantastic for photography, comfortable and sectioned, doesn’t look camera oriented and I have looked for years to find another. Your photos are as always, incredible, I love the composition and lighting that you grab. You look a little harassed in this one and struggling on direction, are you overthinking, I remember the back button focus vlog and your workarounds, brilliant if a little rushed, you remind me of my son, don’t assume a persons level, great advice is a returned subscriber. Regards DG

💯 agree on the Bellroy bag - I must have tried every bag in existence but this one's by far the best I've used, the PD ones are far too rigid and actually not that much space in them. Costly but worth every penny 👌

love this setup. I just bought the X-t5 which is an ugprade for me from X-s10 which was an upgrade from my X-t1. I have been in love with Fuji for the past 10 years. Nice setup Roman! I found out that i love shooting primes much more than zooms too! And also I am finally very content with my setup. Been using X-T2 for 4 years though, now along with laowa 9mm, fuji 23mm f/2 and the old 56mm f/1.2. Been taking this setup with me on backpacking trips and 10 - 12 hour day hikes in a ProTactic Utility Bag 100 AW (it all fits!) strapped to my backpack or belt. Works really well for me, but im a hobbyist. :) Cheers and thanks for the video!

tried the peak and bellroy slings and ended up getting the 10l bellroy camera bag. liked it so much I ended up getting a second one for my edc carry. I keep my xt30 and two lenses and accessories in one and all my edc bag in the other. I can easily make room if I want to carry my camera with my edc stuff for one bag, otherwise I can carry my Fuji kit when I'm out shooting. luckily got them on Black Friday sale for almost half off!

I have a trip to Italy coming up so naturally I went overboard buying bags. I have the Peak Design 10L but felt like it was far too bulky to use for travel. I ended up getting the Bellroy Venture 9L sling (non camera) and it works great for carrying a body + lens plus other essentials. You can even fit another lens in there if you really want to, but I think it's best suited to just a body + lens. I still think I might want to pick up the Venture camera bag for more photography focused travel in the future where I might want to have an additional lens or two on me. I love how the Venture series don't look like camera bags and aren't bulky unless you fill them up. They seem to be built very well.

Looks good but what I use for a day of street shooting or travel is the Titan mini coolers meant for food & drink. I don’t know if these are available in UK but they’re cheap, sturdy as hell and insulated. It only holds camera with a standard zoom lens but you can fit an extra battery, cards, & cleaning cloth. They travel well too. Except for photo gigs I don’t use anything else.

Interesting to see your daily carry. For me the one camera that tends to be with me the most is a XT20 with an 18-55 on it. It's what I carry when I'm traveling usually, what I used in Portugal and does most of what I need. Professionally I use the XT 5 the most and for portraits if I have the room the 90 f2 is my go to. The rest of the time I fall back to the 16-55. Love the XT5, might have to travel with that in the future.

Great recs! Give that pocket Joby tripod a shot on the X-T5 - I've actually successfully used it for some long exposures in a pinch! May not work as well with those heftier new f/1.4s, but it even managed on the 18-55 when I wasn't zoomed in at all. It even works successfully on the bigger lenses if you add an S adapter like a Smallrig Magic Arm ($4-$8, either the 2157 if you add a female adapter or the 1135 which comes with one but is also a little heavier) which moves the center of gravity forward under the longer lenses; can be tricky to get right, but it'll be stable /enough/ for some quick long exposures or self-portraits when on the go for an extremely compact option. Also for a smaller sling I see you've got the 2.5L Bellroy listed, which is a solid option, but I just picked up a TomToc and wanted to throw that recommendation out there - it's a 4L but nice and slim profile, and it can fit my X-T5 with the 35mm f/1.4 attached + something as large as the 70-300 next to it. Most packed out I've gotten it was with the X-T5 with the TTartisan 25mm f/2 attached + the TTartisan 50mm f/2 (love having two pancake options) + the 18-55mm for video + an Instax Link Wide printer. The printer is a comparatively huge and unwieldy shape, but it fits in there nonetheless.

But when I receive the new Viltrox 27mm 1.2, there might be some changes in my sling 😅 I'm amazed by the quality of the Viltrox 75mm. Hopefully the 27mm will be just as good.

Pretty informative, thanks for this. Funnily I find a lot of my gear here. I also upgraded to the X-T5 (coming from a X-T30, so thing like the "cheaper feel" you mentioned in another video don't apply for me). I tested the Viltrox 13 mm and it is pretty nice but also way too wide for me. Guess I'll give the 18 mm 1.4 a chance. The 90 mm 2.0 is one of my favorites for quite some time now. Happy to see you enjoy it as well. For in between I got an old 27 2.8 dirt cheap but I can't get comfortable with it. Might give the 33 mm 1.4 a chance someday. For now the zoom will have to do in this range. And now you made me think about this kinda pricey but nicey sling bag...

I tried moving to a cross body camera strap, but am generally back to my wrist strap and sling bag now. The cross body strap just always felt in the way, even if (in theory) it only takes a couple of seconds to slide the camera into position - and I didn't like the camera slightly digging into my back as it bounced around. My X-T5 with 16-55mm is a bit heavy in the hand, on that wrist strap, but still carryable for an hour or two (then it goes in the sling bag to give my fingers a short rest). I am tempted to buy the 33mm prime lens, mainly to save 295g in weight. Having said that, I actually like how the forward weight of the 16-55 creates a nice tilted furrow for my fingers to 'get into' in the grip when walking. Whereas a lighter lens makes the camera tilt back further and require more grabbing from my thumb to stop it sliding out of my hand. It's possible to halve the weight on your fingers by attaching the wrist strap to the far side of the camera so that it starts to take a lot of the burden. But that then drags the wrist strap clip onto buttons and the screen. I feel that problem could be fixed by future technical designs - with an eye to attack a wrist strap further down the side of the camera and a wrist strap with less plastic at that end. (You can get the hand strap to take a little bit of the weight by attaching it to a piece screwed into the underside of the camera.)

Very i nteresting video, Roman, thanks. I nearly purchased the Bellroy 10 litre bag to replace a sling of about 6 litres as the extra space would be great. Just before pulling the trigger I did a size comparison, using the Bellroy website figures and found the internal dimensions 190x270x100mm volume calculates to be 5.13 litres which is only half the expected 10 litres claimed. It is deceptively smaller than my existing therefore didn't get one.

Roman, do you ever see scenarios in your carry where you would switch out the 90 or 33 with the 56 1.2? can you also touch on why you went with the 90mm f2 over the 80mm macro? i assume its because the 90 focuses faster, is lighter, is brighter, and you dont need the sharpness, macro and weight that the 80mm brings? Would you also ever bring the 70-300 over the 90? Sometimes I find that 70-300 lives on my xt4 when im out on the street.

Love this video, thanks for it. Can you speak to how your view has changed since a year ago? In your video on prime lens mistakes, you conclude that the simplest mistake you can make is taking all of your primes lenses with you and that “from now on” you would only take one prime lens with you. One year later, you’re describing here taking 3 prime lenses with you and no zooms.

I was lucky enough to get a barely used copy at a great price back in fall when all the new Fuji bodies and lenses were announced and people were selling "old stuff" to get new stuff! LOL! I'm still in that more affordable X-T3 and still really like it. Have a great weekend!

I think what people seem to forget that camera's image quality doesnt degrade over time. If you bought and XT-3 when it was the top of the line, it's still the same exact top of the line camera from a few years ago and is more than enough for just about every use case.

@@thepirateshoots It's a great camera. I was lucky to get a barely used one with the 18-55, non battery grip, and all the original stuff still in the wrapping in the original box a little over two years ago. You can't beat it for the price. I looked at others and the bodies alone cost more than I paid for everything.

I'm considering getting the xt5. I'm a serious amateur, not a professional; the xs20 would, in reality, be enough "fire power" for me, but I like the screen much better on the xt5 - especially for street photography. I'm not sure about getting the xh2, it's cool but I really don't do that much video. Does the xt5 work well as an "all around" photography camera?

I just can't make up my mind between the 18/23/33 I think the 18 might be better for indoors. I heard the 23 has the best starbursts at night. And i'm also afraid the 33 might be to tight for me. Decisions wich I have a hard time with.
