Hi Guys!
Welcome back to the channel! Today we are taking a look at my new mower. I sold my brush hog and bought a flail mower. Mowing ditches and banks. This is a early look at the unit, too early to tell if it will make my life easier. Thanks for checking it out.

    Good to see you got a flail mower. I've been using one for the last 15 years. I do not have a fancy one with the tilt and slide like yours. I could sure use it for around the ponds and road ditches. One thing I learned was that the majority of the weight of the mower should be on the rear roller. Don't try to carry the weight with the 3 pt lift arms and don't run it on the "Skid rails".) I adjust the height of the cut by adjusting the top link and pivoting the mower up and down on the roller. The side "skid rails" I call them are for protecting the knives from digging into the landscape if you go over uneven terrain. Good luck, you'll figure it out and probably decide that the flail mower is the way to go. I have 2 now a 71" Ford 918H (800#+) and a 60" Woodmaxx FM62 (650#). Paul-Ohio 🤠🍻👍

    I've used my Peruzzo flail mower with the hammers on grass many times. It cuts almost as good as my zero turn and much cleaner cut than a brush hog.

    Hi Mike, great new mower! 🤩 i like the hydraulic arms. I have a similar italian made flail mower but without the hydraulic arms. I am very happy with it. It is a very good mower for tall grass with little bushes in it. By the way: I bought a new old tractor 🤩 will send you some pictures. Have a good time on your property 🚜 🌱 🍻 Greetings Christian

    Nice flailmower, I just sold my 68'' offset flailmower from palletforks so I could order an articulating flail mower like this. I ordered it from Betstco in Oregon. It is 65'', so 3 inches shorter than my fixed position flail. But it's going to be so much better and cover areas to mow.

    Mike I have a general question about your tractor. I’m looking at the exact same one and people keep telling me you will wish you had gotten a bigger one. After having yours for a few years have you ever wished that you had gotten a bigger tractor? Love your videos. You show real life uses and not waiting until your an expert to show. Beautiful farm you have there too!

  • @tractorrookie

    @tractorrookie

    Жыл бұрын

    😊 Hi Wesley, I understand your concern about getting the right one. I’m sure you already know that “they” say you should get the biggest you can afford. I get the reasoning, but in most cases a smaller tractor can do the same job, it just takes longer. I personally have not had any regrets. For me, maneuverability is a big factor. I am able to get into tight areas and park in both of my shops. I can also transport it with a light trailer and truck. It has good lift capacity and I have been able to do everything I have wanted to do. That being said, if I were offered a bigger tractor it would be hard to turn down.😂 thanks for checking out my videos. Hope this helps.🚜🇺🇸🍺

    Great content! What is the recommended PTO HP for that flail mower? Do you find that your tractor bogs down at all when using it?

  • @tractorrookie

    Hi @M3rwin6 The PTO HP recommendation is 20-40. My Kioti CK3510 hits about in the middle. I do not find the mower bogging down. Here’s the specs on the mower; www.brabereq.com/3pt-offset-boom-mower-be-agl125f Thanks for checking out the video!🇺🇸🚜🌲

    @@tractorrookie great thanks! do you have any concerns with the DPF system? How has the filter Regen been working for you? I'm torn between purchasing the 25 or 35 hp model :)

  • @tractorrookie

    @tractorrookie

    8 ай бұрын

    @@M3rwin6 I’m at 750 hours. It has worked well. Lasts about 20 minutes e every 50 hours or so. I did have the tractor at the shop once because I thought it would not go into regen. Turned out they got it to go and I did not follow the instructions for a manual regen like I should have. I’m sure you already know that the CK26 and the Ck35 are basically the same except for that HP difference. Depending on what you are doing, that would be the deciding factor for me. Loader work would probably not be much different. Work off the PTO could be a factor. Best wishes on your shopping decision. Take care!🚜🇺🇸

    @@tractorrookie Well, I'm close to purchasing my first Tractor and am looking for the best finish type mower. I barrowed a friends tractor and bushog and didn't like how it kinda just beat the grass down mostly. I have a Gravely Zero turn which does a great job but I have 7 acres and it takes some time to get it all mowed.

  • @tractorrookie

    @tractorrookie

    Understood. It’s likely your friend does not have a finish blade on his brush hog which are available. Most people that use mowing machine attachments for large areas don’t do a finish cut. From my limited experience it will likely come down to the blade no matter what mowing system you decide on. Good luck with your purchase. Take care!!
