    Add a DNA or BMC air filter and FuelX lite or pro and the low end torque and stalling issue solved and will be much better. and a Prospec Easy clutch upgrade will make the clutch easier and soft . ADVinjapan channel have a very usefull video on it :).. happy riding :)

    I haven’t found stalling to be a problem and seems to have enough power down low for slow technical stuff but I’ll see how I get on as I do more off-road miles and maybe look into it later if it becomes a problem. Thanks for the tips

    @@nrdbikes that's good.. one main complaint for 390 adv was the lack of torque in lower rpm for off road and higher gear take off from low rpm because it is the same engine and gear configuration as duke 390 so the powe band is in top rpm range 😊. So many 390 adv owners reduced the front sprocket to 14 tooth from stock 15 tooth. Which ofcourse sacrifices the top end performance. The fuelx pro and lite kind of solved that issue without the sprocket down grade 😊

    @@Hkmmotologs I used to ride a 390 Duke a few years ago and I loved it but as this ADV model is going to be used off road quite a bit I’ll see if it’s up to the slow technical stuff as I go along. I may change the sprocket but that’s probably the last mod I’ll do if it needs it, I’ll see how I get on for a bit. 👌

    Very nice changes you've made to your bike. Mine has almost the same things, although I had 22mm risers on mine then took them off again. After a while , I found the bite on my clutch lever moved after adding the risers, so I replaced the cable with a venhill clutch cable with an extra inch on it, and it's fine again. Might be worth you getting one, they are not expensive, and the clutch pull is definitely smoother and lighter to use. Glad you mentioned the honeycomb headlight guard, I was going to get one, but I'll get a clear one instead. Enjoy the bike, cheers.

    @@nrdbikes How you enjoying the 390 after a crf300? I had a 250l, and the 390 owns it in pretty much every way I reckon, especially on a twisty back road, where it is a wee weapon.

    Love the 390 SW I had a 300 CRFl and sold it to buy the KTM..... yes the CRF was better off road but over all the KTM is a better bike to me.... I have done a bunch of up grades on the 390 and looks like your on the way on yours.

    Not in this video I don’t think but when I changed the pegs (see next video) I did move the leaver up slightly, same with the rear brake, the new pegs made that necessary as they sit horizontal so the toes are up more than on the stock pegs.

    You should get the powerparts chain protector it is super fine. The raisers are working good with the cable or did you had any issues? What about the foot pegs? Do you trust them? The bush guard is it any good?

  • @nrdbikes

    @nrdbikes

    So far with a couple hundred miles I’ve had no issues with the bar risers, the cables are working fine with free play on full lock each way, the foot pegs are so much better too, I have loads of support for my feet, they feel very durable, I love the horizontal angle, much better off road. I’ll look into the chain protector, I’m probably going to get some engine protection, the ones that bolt onto the lower end of the engine just incase/ when she goes down, not going to get crash bars, too much added weight, I’m also fitting a lithium battery to cut some more weight. Apart from that she’s perfect for me now. Oh and the bash plate is doing a good job, I’ll have to test it out a bit more soon as I haven’t hit anything hard yet but seems very tough.

  • @nrdbikes

    @nrdbikes

    Жыл бұрын

    I’ve done about 500 miles so far, some off road but mostly road riding, the reason I sold the CRF for this was to do road miles more comfortably but still get my fix off road, obviously it’s not going to be as good as the CRF in deep ruts and some jumps due to lower ground clearance but I’ll just slow it down in those situations, the suspension is very good stock and it rides effortlessly on the road. I’ll be making some videos going off road in the next week or two once I’ve had it’s first service done. Looking forward to see how far I can push it off road!
