There’s only one alternative to head covers to protect such a work of art. 8 different bags and a person per bag to carry them. 7 bags for the irons, 1 per iron, 8th bag for driver, 3 wood, putter etc. job done

They are all beautiful. I personally would not choose a set that looks like something that looks like a top commercial offering like a Titleist or Mizuno. I really like the dark copper Itobori's. I mean go big or go home right?
What amazing set of irons. Look and sound fantastic. Great video. These irons are my wish list now!!
The word "Himeji" on the club head gives me goosebumps! The history and heritage of metal forging in that area makes the name "Himeji" sound almost magical and sacred.

Thank you for this reply. A small town close to Himeji in the Hyogo prefecture is home to nearly all of our forgings. It's the nucleus of forging crafts and blacksmithing in Japan. Truly a sacred place!
They all look incredible! You made the right choice 👌🏻 look forward to seeing your first round with them 🏌🏻♂️🔥🇯🇵
You fella's are killing it on the editing these days. Cheers!
This is unreal! Super excited to see some footage of these around the course.

We are so happy that you like what our master craftsman are making.
Sir, more of this please. So great to learn about the Japanese irons.
Orions are stunning to look at. Love that simplistic look
Super cool irons. Love the demo ones you hit. To me my choice would have been the Makino 88 b2. The little muscle back looked so nice.
That call out for the iron having a smooth bottom hammered absolutely killed me off! I was crying for about 4 minutes of laughter! In all seriousness, if I had the budget to be able to afford these irons, I absolutely would get them in a heartbeat. An absolutely beautiful craft of irons!
Your final pick was the first club my eyes jumped to at the beginning. Aesthetically, excellent choice. I hope they play as well as they look!
WOW!!!! I've been a blade player most of my life Mizuno, Wilson Staff (vintage), Ram Golden Ram, Titleist and I wish these! Now I have never understood you UK players not using iron head covers. Why? I like my irons to be coddled. You know what they say a happy iron is a scoring iron and non-shanking! Great video Mr. Finch and Crew. Thank you "so so" much for enlightening us. 'Preesh. PS: I would have to pick the Itobori because each one is like one of a kind. Priceless
Liked your last video on Japanese irons so much, I purchased one of your “Japanese Steel” t-shirts to support the channel. Then by chance, saved last week’s podcast to listen to on my commute today. Finding out this video was dropping today, this was obviously a must watch on the big screen upon arriving home.
I got pretty excited when you mentioned this on the Rough Cut Podcast. I've been building up my own small collection of older (read cheaper) JDM clubs this past year. Have fallen in love with soft Japanese forgings, and researching all the different brands is a lot of fun.

We would be as well no head covers ;) In Japanese aesthetics and philosophy, wear marks and imperfections are detrimental to beauty but a sign of appreciation. You most used iron will probably be your favourite.
Those are definitely conversation starters! Can’t wait to see the follow up vid.
I have a set of nike vr forged pro irons from 2011 that are in damn near perfect condition because of iron covers. Everyone is always amazed at the condition when they see em, gotta protect your product so it lasts longer!
I love the look of the hand hammered irons. They should get the best turf interactions. That sole eliminates large flat area just like stealth technology on aircraft eliminates flat surfaces for radar detection.
I love the look of the hammer finish with the green lettering ❤
What an absolute amazing video of unique clubs and pieces of art. Great content
Very good choice, even if I would have picked the Orion... Regarding headcovers, I use them since I got a set of Endo forged s20c Bridgestone a few years ago. I tried to not use them on my current set of Takomo 301 but well... 3 months in, the headcovers are back. In 3 months my irons are more marked than the Bridgestone had been after 3 years, and honestly as a sunset golfer walking/carrying, the silence granted by the head covers is a real boon. Now, the internet ayatollahs may frown on me, but my iron heads smile on me, the silence follows me, birds and butterflies surround me (and I do hit my irons very very well if I may say so myself ;) ) One thing, though, not all headcovers are equal. Try to find some with an elastic band around the hosel: they stay in place yet get in/out easily. Most standard models tend to fall off the clubs, or if they don't, to be a pain to put on or take off.
I love my Miura blades, but the Itobori irons are on my dream iron list. I love the different design and the amazing finishes, this was a great video

Loved this video! I’m usually a bit of a snob and only really go for commercialised brands from ones used on tour, but some of those irons have to be the most aesthetically pleasing irons I’ve ever seen! So unique! Out of the three, 100% Itobori for me!

@dragongolf2929

Not all : ) But well spotted. The Kyoei Forge (not to be mistaken for Kyoei clubs) is mainly producing our raw forgings - but not only the KMC, but in total we are using more than 40 forging dies. Muscle Back, Cavity Back and even big heads with huge sweet spot. Their own brand is called Takumi Japan. The forging is amongst the first of many process steps. The look and appearance of the clubs are made by our grinding masters from the different manufacturers.
Ride on a rough course, with head covers... and after 18, tell me if you're in a better head space not hearing, SMAKC, GLING, CLANG, WHACKWHACK for 4 hours of a "peaceful" day on the range... LMFFFAAAOOO
The orion were stunning too Pete. I would've gone dark copper too. I really enjoyed watching that, great video guys.
Absolutely great choice!!
what is going on with your lips dude?
Pete, I haved been a viewer of your channel from the beginning, but I must say you have been through numerous sets of clubs, putters and etc. Even a tour pro doesn't go through as much equipment as you. I tell you the truth when you played with the wood clubs and just junk store clubs, You have shown that if you have the skill you can gold with anything!!. One thing that I have never seen is that you have a youngling that you are teaching and helping them to go from high school, college to pros. that would be a treat to follow!!
Opening credit hilarious, the production on the videos is going up a level, well done guys keep up the good work!
Gorgeous looking clubs. I love the look of the Orion though. the mix of polished and satin finish look is amazing.
That end had me dying! Love the content, those are some absolute pieces of art!
I can totally understand the analysis paralysis you experienced here. There’s no wrong choice, which also makes it feel like there’s no right one.
What an amazing whiteboard behind you too! Lots of exciting content coming 😂😂

Enjoyed this video, so many great looking irons to choose from, and hopefully the feel is as good as the looks. You're a lucky boy. Cheers.
Love this, really original video!
Incredible looking irons. I picked the same ones as you, but in silver.
I am using CGS o’rion himeji x tsubame muscle back irons and very satisfied with the performance and feeling ❤❤❤❤
That was the perfect choice, really hope these work out for you and can't wait to see more content on them. So glad this was in 4K...give Fryer a nudge 🤣SICK
Wow' the clubs are'epic , the itoboris are crazy love em
For me, as bespoke and unique looking as the Itoboiri irons are, they aren't something that I would have in my bag for regular day to day game play. To me, I see these irons as more of a display piece. Something to proudly have out for all to see, and once in a great while putting them in the bag for a specific round of golf. But again, that's just my opinion.
Beautiful works of art!
perfect choice Pete - love it and no head covers - ART IN THE BAG
Those Itobori irons look so absolutely beautiful. I would say too beautiful to actually play them. If I had the pleasure owning these, and decide to play these, I would put covers on them, but only if I can manage to get transparent covers which only pad the irons enough to avoid dings and scratches, otherwise I would only cover them for transport.
I love both sets of my Miuras but the Itoboris are works of art themselves. Most of the ones Pete tried looked to be Kyoei KCM forgings. I’m looking to get a Smoked Copper set of the KCM Heritage with the 5-cut sole someday. Since Pete’s will probably go in his Ogio Woode 8 Hybrid bag there won’t be any need for headcovers.

Well spotted. Nearly all our forgings come from the Hyogo prefecture and the sacred halls of Kyoei Golf (not be confused with the Kyoei Clubs). After the forging they are sent to our grinding masters at either Orion, Itobori. But not only MB but also Cavity backs etc are forged.

I got a set of iron covers for some Miura cubs I purchased 4 years ago. Main reason for covers is my clubs are in the back seat of my car and they rattle. I used to work at a sound studio and this drives me crazy. I also like the quite on the course. I constantly lost covers until I used this trick. I am short one so as I take that one off I put it on the one that is naked. Not only can people see the iron but it can’t bang around against the others . My wedges get a ninja twist each towel , if I used the same towel it will wear holes in the towel. The forged iron process is tough on the face but not on the back. Look at adam Scots clubs then Miura irons he uses show what will happen after a year of no covers. Cheers
Amazing looking clubs!
Yesterday I was quite content with my P-790s. Today I need any of these. Absolutely stunning.
