My number 1 supplier here in the UK, @metropolitanleathercoltd9200 have just started to stock some AMAZING new pieces from the Conceria Il Ponte Tannery in Italy. In this video, I get a hands-on look at how great these leathers are, and how they changed the way I look at leather bellies.
I hope you enjoy the video.

They are both so nice! I also mixed some of the saffiano with some mid tan lamport leather I have and it was 👌

Glad you enjoyed it! The leathers are so nice, haven't made my decision on what ones I want to stock yet, for me that they are dyed through is a game changer 👍

@@JHLeatherAbsolutely agree - dyed through removes one more step that I can mess up on and in my opinion having the same colour on the edges looks so much nicer.

Thanks for posting, Jo, and Metropolitan's shipping rates to the US are very reasonable. I've always bought directly from Italy, but these rates seem a bit better. Also: 🥶🤣

Thank you Jo! I’d seen these on the Metropolitan newsletter, but dismissed them because it’s belly. I’m impressed though and will give them a try!

Loved the added humor! Not sure I can get these in the states at a reasonable cost but we’ll see. Can you recommend a text that describes the areas of leather, what they are like, and how each is best used please.

What would you say about using MS Paint to create 2d templates for leatherwork? So much CAD software seems overly complex for what I need.

Is the deeper pinky red called Bordeaux? And is the blue called Turkey Blue? They look different on the website.

Hi Jo, having trouble beveling the saffiano as it ripples as I try. Sharpened the tool first and pressed down a metal ruler a couple of mil from the edge but beveller kept jumping. I'm not the most experienced leather worker but most of my edges look fine. must be me as Jo's edges look good . Any help from anyone would be great. Thanks all. Andy
