My new apartment
January 22, 2022 I moved in today - It is winter time now. 3 months winter started here from December 21st and it is going to end on 20th March. Nestled in a lovely residential neighborhood in prestigious Plano, you’ll find The Westside Apartments Homes offering beautifully upgraded apartments and townhomes that are light and bright, with designer details throughout. They offer amenities like pools, outdoor kitchens, club-quality fitness center, bark park, and iLounge.
The Westside apartment is located in Collin Count in Plano. This area is served by the Plano Independent School District attendance zone.
February 1, 2022, after 10 days slowly started getting delivery of my furniture one by one. Somehow, I managed to assemble it following the instructions provided by the seller. I ordered white and gray color furniture to match with the interiors.
3rd February, Thursday we experienced a heavy snow fall in Plano area. It started with rain in Wednesday 2nd February evening and turned to sleet falls in night and to snow in Thursday morning till 12 noon.
The National Weather Service’s winter storm warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. Thursday for most of the region in Texas.
Winter storm warnings are issued when the weather service highly expects significant weather such as snow, ice, sleet or a combination of those elements. After freezing rain late Wednesday night and just after midnight Thursday, most of the region has transitioned to sleet, which is expected to continue until midmorning before turning into snow.

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth issued a wind chill advisory from 9 p.m. Thursday to 9 a.m. Friday.
Although sheet of ice blanketed North and Central Texas after a night of freezing rain, sleet and below-freezing temperatures, state and Dallas city officials say the impact of this year’s winter storm was not as severe as last year’s major freeze.
Reports of downed trees, power lines and burst pipes were manageable, but ice paved the way for slick roads and more concerns in the coming days, officials said.
Sleet that arrived Thursday morning turned into snow just after 10:15 a.m. near Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. About 1.5 inches of snow and sleet accumulated at DFW Airport, according to the weather service.
The National Weather Service’s winter storm warning is set to at 6 p.m. Thursday.
On 7th February, I got another item delivered. As it is winter, you can see the dry landscape around. This is the visual from Hackberry park just opposite to the apartment.
Another furniture, night tables got delivered. It took long time for assembling these tables. But it was very interesting. I have ordered all these from Amazon. Delivery was delayed for few items due weather and covid related issues.
22 February, Nanda’s Birthday today. Nanda and Shemmi are in Bangalore, first time we are celebrating her birthday remotely through Whatsapp, they are in Bangalore and I am in Plano.
23 February, next day, Winter storm warning was there from the National Weather Services in Collin County. Witnessed thunder Strome and freezing rain during that night.
By first week of March, I got the bed and mattress delivered. Now I am expert in assembling any type of furniture.
Today March 20, 2022
Spring season started. It starts from March 20 to June 20.
Plano will be very beautiful during the springtime.
Temperature is relatively warm during this time. With a low of 50° Fahrenheit and a high of about 90° to 95° Fahrenheit , it can get chill or even hot. It is primarily chilled throughout spring, but it can get warmer and hotter by end of the spring season. When those warm days come, make sure to get outside and enjoy the weather!
The weather during spring is very different. It will be cloudy in Plano during March, April, and May. Precipitation is actually more common in spring than during summer. The highest chances of heavy rain happen in the middle of May! Of course, Daylight Savings Time happens every spring, so the days will start to get longer, and the nights shorter.
Finally, the cold can be over, and the sunny, long days are here.
April 15th Vishu, considered as new year for Malayalee’s. Even Vishu also celebrated online through WhatsApp this year.
End of May 2022, Finally, I have completed 5 loneliness months. The most awaited day has come.
During weekends, we go for our regular grocery shopping. We will surely plan for some trips and upload some new episodes with Shemmi and Nanda shortly.
It is Summary now. In Plano, the summers are hot and humid, the winters are cold and windy. Summery started on June 21st and ends on September 22nd. #lifeinamerica #plano #texas #indiansinamerica

Its a very interesting vlog with all the important developments since the time you landed in US. The birthday celebrations of Nanda was a really emotional one. The furniture setups done by you independently is really praiseworthy. We are so spoiled by the help and assembly done by an expert here in India or middle east, Europe and US teaches us to do our things on own or spend a huge sum for getting it done by the experts. you did well in all these fields. These 5 months made you more stronger and independent with regards to cooking and setting up the home. Have a wonderful time with your wife and daughter.
