Boring is working. Same for my hair, consistency is key. I don't use any crazy stuff as I don't put my faith in no hairline products. Shampoo, deep conditioner, shea butter and protective style once a week. Extra step : massage my scalp. I think it's counterproductive to be obsessed by our hair. Just give them proper care and let them alone! I love your channel 🧡

Aww thank-you so much :) True, I found that when I was obsessed, nothing ever happened lol I guess it's like the watched pot analogy

The more “boring” the regimen, the better. All the naturals here on KZread with the longest, healthiest hair have boring routines. It’s because they found what works and stick with it! My own routine is boring too, all I wear is braids and twists. Thank you for sharing, we need more simple naturals like you.💜 Btw, we’re wearing the exact same hairstyle!!

When I see all the grow your hair in five minutes using blah, blah, blah, I keep it moving. Since my hair is tailbone length, and I got there with a simple routine and being consistent I mostly watch others who have done something similar. Personally, I shampoo, condition, and style in a WnG most of the time. This has freed up time to watch videos on topics that interest me outside of natural hair. I don't find your hair videos boring at all. I enjoy them for their consistency.

I also have a natural hair channel (not this one) and this is why I only post like every six months. I do the same thing every week, and I don't venture out and try new things very often either. I feel like there is definitely pressure to try a bunch of new stuff all the time to go viral, and my hair suffers for it lol Love your channel

Congrats on 12k subbies!! I'm like that when it comes to my natural hair just keep it simple. No need to try every new product. Just got though covid ( my hair got tangled it wasn't in a protective style) so that was a set back but I'm on a better regimen now so thats a plus. 💖

You eloquently expressed very good points. It’s refreshing to hear a content creator resist the trends and stick to what works for them. That example is going to help many others do the same thing. Time and again we are shown in various areas of our lives that consistency and dedication yields results😊

I've also found the more I settle into and repeat things I've known have worked for me in the past--as opposed to trying something new every week/month (on occasion I do learn something valuable)--the more my hair thanks me by growing and thriving. Thank you for sharing 💛

When I was transitioning from heat damage I tried all the trends, banana in the hair, porosity test in a glass of water.. Now, my routine only changes as needed. I wore wash and gos for a while when I was in an era of needing to see my curls everyday (which I think is normal after heat damage). Once I got past that and started focusing on health, I found some great staple products. Eventually, I noticed my ends tangled too much in a WAG state and I changed my routine to wear my hair stretched and now I do that and I’m focused on length retention. At the end of the day…Simplifying my routine has always been the best route. I don’t think it’s bad if people don’t do it, natural hair can be a lot to learn especially if you’re new to it and I’m grateful for all the stages I went though.

I so relate with this. I've always strived to keep my routine simple. Sometimes too simple which was actually a bit of neglect lol. But my hair has definitely thrived more with just really doing what works best for it which is keeping it in twists or tucked away most of the time, along with keeping it moisturized and having a good regimen. I'm basically waist length now and really looking forward to see how long I can grow my 4c hair. Thanks for the great info ❤️ Your hair is beautiful

I love this! My regimen I would say simple but never boring it’s like watering my plants and being excited for the growth that will soon happen. I always look forward to my simple regimen because I’m seeing small results from the little treatments I do to it. Simplicity is key but it never has to be boring 😊

Same here! Lol. I don't do all that stuff. I don't use deep conditioners either. They are too thick and have too much oil in them. I just use a regular one. i don't prepoo. It's a waste of product to me.

Love this and I agree... We can't jump on every new trend. It might be boring but it works... I do have a question for you. How long would you say it's been since you've been on this current regimen of weekly(ish) washes, butters, plaiting at night etc? And would you say you've seen the most growth and health from this current routine compared to past routines you've had?
