I wonder why the young vendor said that it costs ₱50 while the older vendor said that it was ₱100. I hope they are giving the actual prices and not overcharging tourists. You offered to pay for the two ladies food, then they say they have other companions. It's ok to be generous but I hope that people don't take advantage of it. The red egg is actually salted egg. It is best eaten with tomatos and rice. You could also try eating kare-kare, bicol express, laing, chicken curry, menudo etc. with rice.

Filipinos loves to shop and mingle with vendors. They like to eat variety of stuff. I am very happy to see that you can negotiate with the shop owners. Palabok is a Merienda is a light meal Philippines. Usually taken in the afternoon, it fills in the meal gap between lunch at noon and dinner, or between breakfast and lunch. Thank you for sharing wonderful experiences with the Filipino culture. Be vigilant and take care always

Tama po sana naman wag nyo abusuhin mga foreigner kakahiya naman. Tulad ni ate ng kumain sya ng palabok, sinabi nya yung katabi lang naman lilibre nya aba si ate nag sabi pa na apat sila. Wag naman kayo ganun kakahiya kayo.
