My mind-blowing meal planning hack - plan a week in 5 minutes!

If you take more than 5 minutes each week to meal plan, you spend too much time on this (not very fun) task! While scrolling through Pinterest and cookbooks can be fun, it's not efficient and can be exhausting. Instead, spend your time on other things by using this amazing hack.

How much is it supposed to be per year with your discount? If I use your link and then download and use the app, it says $39/year but if I clink on your link but don't go through the app it says $49/year

    So it's $49 a year full-price, but then I guess $39 with the discount?

Yeah your link is not working for me. I just used the app to get the free trial (it seems you cannot buy it without first going through the free trial) and now that my trial is up, it is prompting me to buy the subscription, but it is $49/year which is the same price as when I look up the website without using your link. The link just takes me to the same page that you find through a quick google search, and signing up for the free trial does not show any discounted price once that trial is up.

Oh okay. I figured it out. Your link doesn't seem to do anything, but when you complete the free trial and then go to select the yearly plan, there is a spot to put in a referral code. I input "thriving" and it applied the 20% discount.

I dunno, Michele, that seems like an awful lot of work to input at that data, add a bunch of tags to everything, categorize everything, and photograph entire cookbooks. And shopping lists that include ingredients you already have in your house, so now you have to go through and edit each recipe's shopping list, feels cumbersome and annoying when I could just write down what few things I need. Maybe I'm just in a mood. 😕

Hey, it's not for everyone, right? I personally would rather spend a few hours setting it all up and then adding to it whenever I find a cool recipe that I want to try or like and then only spend 5 minutes a week after that planning. To me, planning was becoming this onerous, at least 15 minute, if not 45 minute task every weekend where I'd have to search through multiple cookbooks and blogs until I found things that met my time constraints and needs. If I didn't have time to do that I'd resort to the same meals over and over. So for me it makes a lot more sense to put the time in up front so that I can reap the rewards for years to come. It's like 3 hours up front so I can spend like 4 hours total over the year planning (approx 5 min x 52 weeks) for a total of 7 hours on the task vs 13 hours total (and that's on the low end, estimating for only 15 min a week x 52 weeks - it was probably more like 26 hours a year that I spent). So for me, WELL worth it. But if you enjoy spending the time planning then keep doing it - no one says you have to use this. And a note - I don't photograph entire cookbooks - I usually only like or want to try 5-6 recipes from most cookbooks anyway, so I just pull out the ones I've cooked before and liked. If I'm just going to try a recipe to see if I like it, I just make a note instead for in dinner spot in PTE and point to the book and page. It doesn't actually get a placeholder with photo or even ingredients in my PTE dashboard until I've tried it and decided I want to have it again.

@@MicheleSpring, thanks for your reply. I can see how it saves a ton of time if you're primarily using recipes from the web. And you're right, I hate meal planning and often find myself making the same things over and over. But what do you do about recipes you've saved from Instagram or KZread? Do those import? I'm sorry for coming off negative. I'm going through a very difficult time with my medication not being properly adjusted, my mood is all over the place, and that's having an effect on my perception of things. I sincerely appreciate you bringing this tool to our attention and offering a discount on it as well. Perhaps when I'm not feeling quite so overwhelmed, I'll give it a try. Thank you, Michele. You're the best.
