Because of that, Reddit tends to gather more of a bias for those toxic people. Here's an example of how those toxic biases form: there are statistically less abusive fathers than there are abusive stepfathers. A major reason for this is that a minority of single mothers are jumping from one toxic relationship to another attracting the majority of the abusive stepfathers.

It's because the children are not their biological children, so they don't have much of a parental instinct towards them. And they feel like they shouldn't be taking care of another person's child. It's rare to find someone who is willing to accept them as their own, especially if they don't have children of their own. And single moms jump into toxic relationships, but there are mostly negative stories only because they usually get more attention?

My older cousin who was also born in March (not on st Patrick’s day tho) is named one of those names. I would never tell her but when I think about it I was like why would my aunt do that to her.

Luis is a king!! Best character in this story. While this MIL sounds like the biggest monster in humanity, in the first minutes I agreed with her. I'm brazilian and I've lived in Ecuador and other spanish speaking countries, and Toribio is quite a funny name, even in latin languages (maybe it's just my experience idk). However naming a kid Patrick after the holiday would definitely be way worse lol. Hope MIL is resting in stress in hell

Well so far I think YS is Youngest Son and MD is Middle Daughter, not to sure what OH stands for unless it's a Spanish English mix like, Oldest Hijo perhaps? I think Hijo means son.

I know a lot of people that don’t believe some of these MIL stories but I assure you my father’s mother was terrible to my mother. I grew up loving my granny so much but in my teens I began to see who she really was. My mother was a saint to have put up with her and taken care of her as she did.

Yes, Catholic children usually have a saint's name (not so much in the USA, anymore, I think). My younger sibs and I have saints' names for both first and middle names. Foreign variations count -- mom's name was the Spanish version of Agnes. Dad was born and reared Protestant, so his first name is merely Scottish.
