Mary, my Dad used to always sing a song called Yellow Bird, so I bought your Yellow Birds and framed it and gave it to him as a Christmas gift last year. Then at the end of February my Dad was admitted to the hospital. He was having such a hard time. He was up all night and I left the room for a few minutes to talk to the nurses. It was about 5 in the morning and I came back into the room and the nurse and I were relieved to see he had fallen asleep. Not wanting to wake him I went and laid down by the window. The sun was coming up. I decided to watch your vlog to unwind. It was March 2nd. It happened to be the vlog where you were practicing singing Hallelujah for your friend who had passed. I listened to it over and over until I fell asleep. An hour later the nurses woke me and told me my Dad had passed. I now realize he was gone when I came back in the room and thought he was asleep. You were singing Hallelujah as he was on his journey into the arms of a loving and gracious God. As sad as I am and as much as I miss him you touched my life in a way you will never know. Thank you.

I have a 1970's octagon end table next to my bed. There is an IKEA mini-dresser on top of it, with my test strip pill refills. My APAP machine, hose and mask are in the bottom of it. The APAP replacement supplies and extra syringes are in milk crates on the shelf in my closet. I have a bathroom/snack tote from the Dollar Tree that holds my combler, my inhaler, my blood pressure wrist meter, my glucometer, and a small cosmetic type container which holds my open insulin vials and enough syringes for one whole day. It also can hold a bottle of water... I have a "secondary" station, which is in my living room, where I have a container of loose syringes, a little less than a weeks' worth, to refill my little container. The tote has a spot there, too. When I need to go out for errands, I can just grab my meter, combler and syringes, and inhaler, and put them in my purse or pocket . I put them back in the tote when I get home. It works. Considering the small space you have in that room, if it were me I'd get some of the wall-mounted Lack shelves from IKEA to put things on. They don't take up floor space. Then I'd try the nebulizer and vest equipment on the rolling cart, if it will hold them...

I've seen people use spice racks to organize their meds. I have yet to find one that fits into our med and formula cabinet. My kiddo with a J tube is non-verbal. It's been interesting to hear your perspective, Mary, as she can't tell me when she's in pain or how it feels. Thank you. I have told people in the past I think she's hurting and I'm told oh it shouldn't hurt and here you are saying sometimes it does hurt.

For all our meds and medical supplies I use the concept of "a place for everything and everything in it's place", keeping them where they are most used (bedroom dresser) AND, I also made a habit of either putting everything in it's place immediately after use OR I have one day a week that is for putting things away. Looks like you have a place for things, stuff just piles up with use, so maybe setting aside one day a week that you put things back in place (but you were doing that on this day ;) )

I put l my meds on a shelf that hangs on the wall. You can make them easily with a couple of pieces of wood (if you have the measurements when you buy the wood, most home improvement stores will cut it to whatever size you need for free) some wood glue, screws, couple of brackets. You can paint them, leave them plain, whatever makes you happy. Then you can have a shelf with whatever length, depth or height you want/need. if you add an extra, smaller piece of wood to the front of the shelf to form a "lip" so the bottles won't fall off the shelf. One down side is you can see how many meds you take which can be stressful at times but it also helps sort the meds out and you can easily find whatever you need.

YES! An empty shelf always fills up full of medical stuff!!! My storage is-I do shelves (like book cases), bins (like the clear tote/storage bins), and “smaller” storage caddies (like 10 or 12x6 inches approx.-some smaller, some a little larger-like the storage caddies you can put 8-12 pill containers in, that sort of thing), and of course boxes of heavy and bulky stuff like catheter night bags, sterile procedure packs-(they go wherever I can fit them!)-which are SO bulky-and have to stay in the box until I need to use them! I work it similar to you!!

To organize your meds, what about a tall, narrow shelf (like from Ikea or even a bookshelf?) Then you can put your vest in the bottom of it and get some of the bins to sort your meds and other items. Then label all the bins to help you remember what goes where. :-) As I was watching today's video, something else stood out to me, and I wanted to comment on it as well. Mary, I don't know how you stay so positive when you're in pain and not feeling well. I live with chronic pain, and I struggle with remaining positive. I try, because I know my attitude affects my family. But, it's still so hard when I hurt so badly so much of the day. I very much admire your ability to stay positive. And, I love the way Peter supports you. The two of you both exude the love of Christ by the way in which you genuinely care about other people. And that is such a beautiful thing to see!

First of all, I want to say that I have tried to organize my medical supplies for years, but have yet to come up with a perfect solution. My meds are primarily in my bathroom, set up on several shelves to keep them organized. My braces (I have dozens for EDS) are organized in my closet, at eye level so I don't have to rummage or use a step stool. My nebulizer is set up on my nightstand with the supplies inside the nightstand. Annnnd my other supplies are just kind of tucked in random places, usually where I use them the most. It's hard to keep it all in one place! Second, I got my whale shirt, 8×10, stickers, and wall decals-- and I love them so much! I've gotten so many compliments on my shirt from complete strangers. Then I get to talk to them about where I got it and what CF is. Awareness win! Lastly, I am so glad I found your channel! Thank you for letting us in to your everyday lives. It isn't easy, but helps so many people for many different reasons. For me, I like to watch because I am inspired to thrive despite chronic illness, and to keep showing God's love to all. It's exhausting to spend your days feeling like you've been hit by a truck. But, after seeing how you guys live your lives with joy and purpose, I feel like I can do it too! I pray that I can someday find someone like Peter! For now, I am just trying to follow your example. I have been blessed beyond measure in my own life, and I focus on that rather than my hardships. I guess I like to think of my illnesses and struggles as something I can use to share God's grace. Anyway, thank you for your channel! You guys are awesome!

I finally had to convert one of our guest rooms into a medical supply room. When I just had tube feeding, we supplied all of the supplies behind the couch near the kitchen, but when I was put on TPN and tube feeds my supplies like tripled. So there are some three shelf shelves in the guest room right next to me, so I decided to put everything in there in a nice organized manner. On the top of the shelf, I have a bucket of my medications and my daily pill organizer and my liquid med. Right next to I have a bucket with my sharps container, TPN mat, and hand sanitizer. On the first shelf of the unit I have all my boxed products like alcohol wipes, heparin and saline flushes, and gloves. The second shelf has in the first bucket my IV tubing, needles, and syringes, in Ziploc bags. The second bucket has dressing change kits, IV extensions, claves, bio discs, and PICC line sleeves. The last bucket has batteries, charger, a thermometer, and some other miscellaneous TPN items. The last shelf has 3 buckets as well. The first has formula all lined up and ready to grab, the second bucket has syringes, face tape, and skin prep, and the last bucket has 500 ml feeding bag. Then right beside this unit I have the extra 1000 ml bags and 500 ml bags in the boxes they came in and the extra formula in the boxes they came in all stacked up. I also have the extra backpacks I have right beside that.

I'm thinking just a small bookcase beside your bed would help you clear that cart up. Just have more space to spread it all, it doesn't need to be organised. Would that be good enough? Another idea I had would be to find some sort of table that your vest machine can sit under and put a storage drawer/small shelf system on top of the table?

I currently take 9 meds daily (more if I have pain). I keep my bottles in a zip lock bag in a drawer and refill my daily meds container every Sunday. Only 1 bottle stays on my nightstand, and that is the med I take at bedtime so that I remember to take it. It stays right side up on my nightstand until I take it. Once I've taken it for the night, I turn the bottle upside down so that I know I've taken it. Maybe for your pill bottles, since they are so large, you could get a vacuum sealed bag to keep them in. I also have a separate box for my pain meds and antibiotics. I know what it's like to have to store medication! I bought pretty boxes at Michael's (I'm sure Hobby Lobby would have them, too) and that is where I store pain meds and antibiotics, and everyday pain relievers (Advil, etc.). Maybe something like that would be pretty in that corner. Love you, guys!

I just have one designated spot for everything, a corner in the kitchen. The below cupboard for all my boxes of bags/syringes and other bigger misc items. The drawer for all my feeding tube extensions, little syringes, gauze and tapes, small medicines like triple antibiotics, and other misc items. Then the top cupboard is just all food and a few bigger medicine bottles like my motrin and my allergy meds. Also travel insulated bags I use for packing up food for an outing or trip. And then I leave my inhalers for my asthma on my desk by my phone charger so right when i get up i check my phone and take my meds. And then my oxygen concentrator just sits in the living room with a long tube that reaches all around the house. CPAP just stays by my bed.

when my mom had cancer (she's in remission now) she had so many drugs! about as many as you do Mary but our system of organizing them was a giant bag. it was a big fabric produce bag that we called the "drug bag" probably won't work for you guys but it worked great for me when I was taking care of my mom ❤

What about incorporating a desk top from IKEA into your office desk system? They have them in white so it should fit in and give you more leg/work space.

Mary, can you update us on your feeding tube situation? It seems like you are taking more and more days off. Has your weight/appetite been good? You seem to have a lot of extra formula too! Wonder if you're not consuming it as much as I guess the home care company expects/pays for?

At first I thought the people complaining that she had an eating disorder were kind of out there, but they caused me to pay attention and go back and watch some old vlogs. She really seems to have a problem. I hope someone helps her before it is too late. She scarcely uses the tube.

I think everyone has their own perfect organization method for meds and medical equipment. I have a basket for all my meds on a shelf under my nightstand and keep my daily vitamin gummies on my nightstand (because otherwise I'd forget them) I also have random lidocaine patches in my guest room closet haha! I also have comblers but I always forget to refill them. I should do that after I finish this video. I think Ollie was tired haha 'my humans, go to sleeeeeep'.

I keep medical stuff for my family in one of those storage bin dresser things. i don't have quite as much as Mary does but i use one drawer for the multiple meds i take a day and a drawer for my son's allergy meds that also has tyelenol and cold meds and all of that kid of stuff and then a drawer for my daughter that has ADHD and all of her cold meds and stuff since she is in a different age bracket than my son. its really helped keep everything together and organized so i'm not searching for things
