Yeah I wouldn't think Tom was thinking about Samson either but who knows. Subliminal disses are a way of making a point but with plausible deniability. So Samson may have been talking about Tom just in case Tom WAS talking about him. Of course Tom isn't the only "quantity over quality" rapper out there but he's the first one a lot of people think of. And Samson reiterates "if you think I'm talking about you then I probably am" (paraphrased).

One thing to consider. A lot of people will group Samson in with this subjectively labeled "right wing rapper" group, along with the likes of Tom MacDonald and others. But right now the Daily Wire (a conservative media outlet) is a point of division amongst conservatives, libertarians, centrists, free thinkers, etc... and Tom basically endorsed them by sling that track with Ben Shapiro. Just like the non-leftist crowd is divided on the issue and non-leftist rappers would probably be as well. I definitely see this as a factor.
