What x pipe did you have on it before going to muffler shop?

I live in the state of Maine Northeast and you can do pretty much anything to your exhaust in the state troopers and police usually don’t really bother us but we do have to get our cars inspected every year but if you know the right people you’re all set

fight the ticket.. got stopped with my sc e39 540i and got state reffed too. 90%.of the time the cop won't show up and the case will be dismissed

What happens with a state reefed ? Im from UK... can you not insure your mods over there ?

It sounds better with stock xpipe to me. Xpipe are the same with comp and non comp…… mufflers and tips are different. Less fiberglass in comp mufflers that’s it and black tips.

Same thing happened to me in the Bay Area I have the same car btw. The judge ended up giving me 2 choices..either put my stock exhaust back on and get my ticket signed off by the state ref or pay a $280 fine. I just paid the fine and still have my modified exhaust lol. Hopefully they give you the same option just wait for the letter in the mail before contacting a state ref and putting your stock parts back on.

@@anthonyulloa4004 I just waited lol took like 2 months for me to get the letter they just want your money bro. But it all depends on the judge..if you get a crappy judge then your gonna have to get the ticket signed off by a ref to close the case

Bro , you need to move to Florida you should see the stuff we get away with over here I even have my windshield tinted 20% almost everybody have their windshield tinted never got a ticket big loud exhaust MST intake manifold on my 535 thecops don’t mess with you down here like that ,those cops over there have nothing to do that’s the problem, they need to go look for some real crimes and do their job rather than messing with innocent people just trying to make it through life I can’t stand cops 👮‍♀️ some of them think they run the world and they don’t !!

Basically. They mark the car as illegal to drive &’ you gotta put it back to stock. Get it inspected by a state referee &’ pay fines.

Smog is easy to pass. You can mod your car just keep your stock parts so in 2 years when smog is due you can swap back to stock to Pass smog. Ppl don’t keep the stock parts and then try and sell there cars not passing smog
