Meredith, I was a courier for FedEx in the states for 20 Years ( I have since retired )....Never did I ask anyone to show me something they were shipping....! NO, reason to...! I am so sorry this has happened to you..! Keep diligently seeking answers ...packages are tracked by scanners so they know everyone who touched that package/the vehicle it is in and the facility it reaches.... that person should lose their job and be prosecuted if the evidence shows they stole your contents...I always felt it a privilege to work for FedEx knowing that they trusted me and that I could be trusted to pickup and deliver packages everyday for them..without question...! We are (unfortunately) in a new day and age that TRUST is not what it should be...Praying that this has a good outcome for you..!

In 2019, my daughter was studying in St. Andrews, Scotland and had her books shipped home because they were too heavy to take home along with her luggage. She boxed them up and we arranged to have them picked up by DHL at her residence hall. I found out later after placing my order that whoever was to pick them up had to check inside the boxes to be sure of what was inside. This may have been necessary because we live in the US. I remember contacting the ladies in the hall because the two boxes needed to be open for inspection and feeling bad about that because they'd need to be retaped once more. My point is that in this particular situation, DHL did need to inspect the boxes. In Meredith's situation, I cannot say. It sickens me to hear of something like this happening.

Hello, I am sorry Meredith. I live in the USA. I have something stolen in the mail. I have had a package opened up and I picked it up from the shipper. It doesn’t matter thieves are always watching! I had something stolen off of my front porch, neighbors saw it happen. A $50 pair of boots that I luckily got refunded. People have NO shame! They will do it in broad daylight with witnesses, they don't give a crap.

The fact that the employee asked you to open your box and show him what’s in there just blew me away! Hell No. he won’t be taking my packages. Sorry about your violations girl, I feel for you 😢

Delivery driver did it. I had the EXACT SAME SCENARIO happen to me with FedEx. I got a lawyer and it turned out to be my delivery driver who opened the box and resealed it. Delivery driver was fired from FedEx

My heart goes out to you. When I moved 5 yrs ago, the mover stole 4 pairs of designer shoes. I never got a single penny back. The same mover also broke a very expensive antique mirror.

This is the first video of yours I have ever seen and I am so sorry you were violated in this way. No one is entitled to your belongings, no matter that you were going to sell them and I think your strength is admirable!

One thing I do is use marked tape. I will put a signature on it too. You can sign or “mark” the tape so that it can’t be resealed.

A local consignment store may be a more secure option, but every option probably has weaknesses (eg, a store could be targeted by thieves too). I have a friend who had a diamond watch repaired at a jewellery store in Melbourne years ago, and when they picked it up they noticed something different. They had their watch checked by another jeweller, and a diamond had been replaced with a fake stone. They had to sue to get justice. Wherever there’s money/value, you’ll find someone looking to exploit.

SAKS FIFTH AVENUE here in the states is using a red “Tamper Proof Tape”… plus signature. Much more difficult to reseal if opened. High end retailers here seem to be using FedExpress with a signature to receive. I always take photos of the box as I am packing it and after it is sealed when sending a high value item. Just sharing some thoughts. So horrible… I feel exactly the same as you do. Virtual hugs to you.

That’s really a good idea. When I sell my items I put numbered security tags on them so someone can’t claim they got a fake etc. There’s places you can order branded packing tape. I may just order some for all of my future sales.

I've recieved items package with tape that says "if this tape is damaged do not accept delivery" with the company logo (if it's not personal to the sender, then it's easily duplicated).

So sorry this happened to you Meredith! 😞 It’s scary too. I’ve never been asked to open a box to show what it is that I am shipping. I’ve been asked what is being shipped and I just provide a category rather than specifics. In the US, stealing “mail” or packages can result in jail time. I hope that everything will turn out.

I’m so sorry this happened to you! I have had problems shipping items to sell too! They weren’t stollen but the box arrived looking like it fell out of the trunk and then got run over multiple times and the big bags were misshaped. I’m so glad that you are fully pursuing this! Thank you!! For so many people this kind of financial loss would be huge since most of us sell bags to fund the next bag purchase. And we wouldn’t have the means to fight this and investigate it more. So thank you!!

This shouldn’t have happened, people are horrible. I’m so sorry this has happened to you Meredith. Connor will need to protect his sellers and start inspecting packages before leaving DHL (or any other shipping company). The argument businesses will always use is that they could have been stolen after it left DHL. Obviously we know this is not the situation, but companies will never assume the burden of proof. If he took video while opening the boxes then that can be used as proof that the items were stolen while in transit by a DHL employee. I hope you get justice! This is just so unacceptable. Oh Meredith, I am so sorry that happened! I can understand the feeling - anger and then the violation sets in. I am SO glad to hear you are going to pursue this to the end. Because it is only when people do this, that companies will tighten their in house security to ensure it stops happening. Most companies have cameras and other ways to check what goes on, so they must be able to follow the trail of who had access to your packages. I hope you get some answers soon!

Awww I feel like giving you a big hug. I know how passionate we all are about nice things but I've also had a similar experience with a delivery person taking extra interest in my packages. My packages weren't expensive but my gut told me never to trust him again. Also another person at a post office had a similar personality and I found out she stole things from my letters so I can't trust the same people ever again. I just pray and live in hope. There definitely needs to be strict regulations because packages shouldn't be so easy to just steal. Maybe they should have some sort of face ID for whoever handles the package or something. Good on you for looking for justice. I'll pray that you get your justice. 🙏❤❤❤

FINGERPRINTS ! does Conner still have the original box and the tape on the box ? Check for fingerprints on the new tape that would have been used on the boxes.

The police won’t do fingerprints for something like this. Plus that only works if the person has been arrested and fingerprinted previously. Sadly theft cases such as this are on the bottom rung for police.

I thought of that, but there will be many people who've legitimately handled that box. Then I thought of the inside of the box because there should be no innocent DHL employee leaving their prints there. Another thing is that if the box has been used previously, then there could be old prints that have nothing to do with the theft. ❤

You obviously do not shop from Farfetch. When you return items via DHL, Farfetch ask that you allow the DHL driver inspect the contents. Then it is sealed and scanned. That way the customer is 100% protected in that the receiving end cannot claim you send a dodgy item back to the seller. Makes perfect sense to me. that's the way it works from Australia.

Oh this is devastating to have happen and I can fully empathize. Yes, violated is how I felt too when I discovered that thousands of dollars of checks were stolen from within the USPS system and cashed. It was such a mess to try to get it all sorted and it seems often that these thefts are internal. I learned that the post office branch near me had had other cases of employees stealing checks from the mail and forging them at various banks. I hope you get this resolved quickly!!! xx

Oh Meredith, I'm so sorry. I've had many things stolen from me in my life that I worked hard for so I know what that feeling of violation is like. It's awful. You already know this (you mentioned it in the video) but the package weights are something that can be checked to show that there was a difference between time of pickup and delivery. Also, though you said you won't be shipping designer goods anymore, using tamper-proof tape could help. I'm going to start doing that now because of what happened to you. I hope there is resolution for you quickly.

So sorry this happened to you 💔! I wouldn’t completely quit on DHL tough - yet! It’s not an entire companie’s fault, there’s one/some rotten apple/s. It would be most important to me, how they handle the case now. As terrible as it is: they as a company can not garantie to just hire trustworthy, honest people - unfortunately there can always be black sheep. But it’s about the consequences they take now. Fingers crossed they‘ll find the thief and this will come to a good end for you - at least an end you can find peace with ❤️

Boy this made me tear up 😢 Wow how devastating, the violation is so much worse than anything, I am glad you are pursuing this because I am pretty sure the thief does this on a regular basis, stealing, and you nabbing this person may help others for the future. My son had $500 in car parts delivered to my house, said it was delivered, no picture of that delivery and I was adamant about figuring it out, this impacted my sons car repair business which amounts to more money than just the car parts, customers waiting for the jobs to be done and amounts to more money including labor, come to find out the driver had them, I had to track down to the actual boss of the driver to get results, luckily it didn’t get to another level of me contacting the police, and unfortunately it happened again with a different driver and after I cause a fuss those parts magically got delivered! So needless to say my son doesn’t use my address for deliveries. The car part sellers didn’t have the option for signature required 🤦‍♀️ I know this doesn’t compare to what’s happened to you but letting you know it’s a thing and I feel deeply for you 🤗 I pray 🙏 for a quick resolve for you 💗

Gosh I'm so sorry you're going through this! It's absolutely feels like you've been violated when this happens. I'm sure if they've stolen from you, they've stolen from others. I know using social media can be helpful to see if there are other victims out there in your area. That could also help narrow down potential issues. I would raise hell until the culprit(s) is found! This could easily be a group effort too. Makes me so sad for you! For me out of paranoia, I've started taping my boxes with special tape and I put notes in there that if the special tape has been broken then they should notify asap. If I'm selling to someone direct I ask that they take a video of the unboxing. The tape I have was a special edition kpop tape that I happen to have 2 rolls of and there's absolutely no way that anyone else would have it! I know that's not helpful now but for anyone selling anything something like this gives me a little peace of mind knowing that stealing designer goods is becoming more and more and more common everywhere.

I am so sorry that happened to you. 😢 I cry just seeing you so upset. Don't beat yourself so hard. This will make the thief win. Brush it off and turn into happy feelings, and tell the thief you are not beaten ❤

I’m so absolutely sorry this happened to you. You do not deserve this. I agree with everything you’ve said on this subject. No one has a right to take what is not theirs and especially in a professional capacity through a business in which you payed for a service. DHL should want to prosecute for all their customers. If they can’t be trusted they have nothing.

Had a similar thing happen once with UPS and it’s a devastating feeling. I hope they find exactly who has stolen the items during the investigation and hold them accountable

Meredith, I sincerely hope these people or person(s) is caught!!! And no one should be leaving nasty comments stating you deserve this….Thats almost worse than being the victim of theft! While I do hope you get your items back, I agree it’s probably unlikely…but charging the thief and seeing justice would be a huge step in healing. May I ask if all the items were in one box? Maybe filming yourself packing the items in the box would also be an option in the future. These are definitely uncommon times we are living in!

Oh Meredith I’m so sorry😢this is what happened to me 2 weeks ago…I bought a pair of Fendi earrings online…when I received the parcel it had been opened & my earrings stolen..now the postman did not ring the doorbell I got the Notification on my phone that my parcel had arrived…I went outside I could see instantly that my parcel had been tampered with.. I have surveillance cameras had a look just to make sure that no one had been on my property…it’s been 2 weeks & numerous amount of phone calls with Australia Post & still no compensation..they almost made me feel as though I was the one that had done something wrong..I’m absolutely disgusted how people think they can help themselves to other peoples belongings..I hope they get to the bottom of it & do something about it ❤

I am so very sorry this happened to you 😢 the feeling of being violated in this situation is very real and 100% understandable. I really hope you are able to come to a resolution and find out the perpetrator so you can gain some closure to this horrible situation. Please be careful with your home security as well. If your hunch is right, he/she knows where you live and likely that you have other designer bags/items in the home given that they are aware you’ve shipped them before on other occasions.

I put a thumbs up, but I’m so sorry that someone felt the inclination to steal from you. That is not acceptable.. I pray that everything works out and you find the thief and you are compensated for what you’ve lost. Best wishes, Meredith.!
