Ahhhh what a busy reserve month! With my seniority (after 6 years of flying) I am only on reserve about 3 months out of the year so I wanted to document this past month all in one video. Thank you so much for being here, for taking the time out of your day to watch this video & I hope you stick around for more 😊 If you have any questions about being a flight attendant please put them in the comment section below and I will do my best to answer them here or make an entirely separate Q&A type video! JJ ❤✈

I've been lucky enough to have a good job in phx az, working at sky harbor airport. I was part of a team that cleans the inside of airplanes. I've seen Michael Khare doing challenge accepted video. She went to be a flight attendant. So I have a basic idea ❤

I was on an AA flight last night. I was sitting in economy but travelling "premium" because I'd been rebooked from first class. The flight attendant gave me a beer at no charge. Usually when I'm sitting in economy I'm charged for a beer. Was this just the discretion of the flight attendant or was there a reason it was free?

In my teens I really wanted to be a flight attendant. I had flown many times to and from European airports, plus 2 return long-haul. I thought it was such a great job and the flight attendants always looked so lovely in their uniforms. My parents got the daughter of their friends to come talk to me. She, whilst enjoying an excellent salary and free flights for holidays, brought me down to earth by explaining what the training and everyday working was like. I went to university and found my ideal place in life. I love flying and, having been raised well, have never been a Karen on a flight. I can see why you are so good at what you do. You have a calmness and personality to handle what can be a very stressful job. So glad I found your channel.

Julia I gotta say, your channel brings a sense of comfort to me. I’m not a flight attendant, but I work crazy hours/shifts for my job & I can work up to 6/7 in a row. And sometimes we get notified about changes just a few hours in advance or whatnot. And I’m also about an hour away from work like yourself. So it’s definitely comforting to know that I’m not the only one who has a grind like this haha. Keep up these awesome vlogs!

Hi Julia. What a crazy time you had. I'm not a flight attendant, but know the airline industry very well as I'm a travel agent. Have been for the last 32 years and our job is crazy and underpaid - as well. Imagine dealing with all of these delays which mess up clients trips and trying to navigate in between all of this. The times when the airlines paid us commissions included in the ticket price - are long gone, since right after 9/11, so we have to charge service fees for issuing airline tickets. This video shows clearly how hard you guys work and how important for the passengers - is to have a trip cancellation/trip interruption insurance. Greetings from Ontario, Canada 🤗

We have four dogs and our oldest looks just like Luna. Her name is Sandy. There's no better love and comfort than that of a four-legged child ❤ Your airline is very fortunate to have someone as dedicated as you are. I hope they know that. Take care, stay safe, and keep smiling, it's contagious ❤

That first trip you had with all the cancelations, changes to the trip, and uncerntinty is exactly why I would never be a flight attendant. Not that I even have the right personality for it lol but holy moly not knowing where you're going or when you're arriving or even if your trip can change at the drop of a hat is so much. Kudos to flight crew and pilots because that is too much for me.

My sister was a "stewardess" for United in the 1960s based in SFO. It was a more glamorous time, but was regulated, and therefore she had a pretty regular schedule each month. Aviation has really changed since 1978, with both positives and negatives. You have a wonderful attitude and I know it can test your patience. Stay safe!

In the eyes of the general public, flight attendants appear to be enjoying a “glamorous and fun” job. However, as a retired aircrew member who has accumulated over 10K hours of flight time; I know that assumption is not accurate. To be an aircrew member; including pilots, flight attendants or stewards; you must be totally focused on your job and have a Plan A, B, C, or D in place in order to cope with an ever changing working environment….additionally, you’ll need to deal with the “Circadian Effect” that affects any crew member who transits multiple zones during a typical workday….Have a good one!!😅

@@kellyjones3431 I used to be one and know the facts about flight pay. No one in his/her right mind thinks a Flight Attendant gets $40-70 per hour when nurses, etc. don't make that. That high flight hour pay is supposed to compensate for all of the "unpaid time" boarding, etc. Flight Attendant engage in.

Were you able somehow to get your mom’s Mothers Day presents to her? More seriously, the last part of April and all of May has been real rough weather wise, especially in the Midwest, “Tornado Alley”, and along the Gulf Coast; I can’t remember such a stretch for such a sustained time period since at least 2011 or ‘12. I can only guess if you were still posted at Dallas-Fort Worth the delays may have been more numerous! Hope that the weather-and your travels-calm down the rest of the summer!!

You guys don't get the appreciation and respect you deserve. Last time I flew was in the late 90s. What I remember were not the nice landings or punctual arrivals or visits to the cockpit (totally normal back then). What I remember most was the commendable service I experienced as a kid while being on quite some flights with many airlines around the world. In the end, if the service is bad, the flight will be bad, period. While on the other hand, great service can even save an otherwise bad flight. It also helps that you gals always look impeccable. :D

I also watch Mentour Pilot. He tells about problems they have with planes. Like trimming too far or an engine quits and the only way they can stay in the air is by using the rudder so it doesn't roll. Mayday situations! But he also demonstrated making an ILS landing. It's a great KZread channel. 👍

It's funny. I absolutely understand the flight limitations. I worked in IT and really loved long hours. And I was not paid for them either. You can do and learn things about networks, servers and applications when there's no one around. So it was work those hours, learn things and become better. But of course, I did not have other folks lives in my hands. So I am very happy that flight and cabin crew should be well rested.

AA fly to Halifax from PHL during the summer schedule, and especially in July/August there can be some great things to see and do on the city’s waterfront and some unique shops and restaurants downtown. That said, not sure if the trip would only be available as a turn as they turn the aircraft around pretty quickly when it gets to YHZ.

It’s cool you did one of those vids for those who are curious! I like watching Swayne Martin who’s a pilot for delta I think who explains the ins outs of scheduling and what he does, how he bids etc.

Very interesting to see a day....err month in the life. Can you tell a little more maybe about the model aircraft you enjoy flying on the most? How about talking about health regimen to stay healthy when always being around travelers who are sick etc... or from having to always eat out or at horels etc..

I was stuck in ORD at the end of May due to weather, too, and got put up in a hotel. Man, that was stressful and it was only the one time (ever) 😅 Have to say that the AA staff in ORD did their absolute best to not have me stuck somewhere in the middle of the night on my own (thanks, Anu) 🥰

As a flight attendant for Lufthansa, the only thing that stopped our flights, was fog. We took off in snow and rain storms.

Very informative. I think if I could have a do over, I would have been a flight attendant. But, I do see you have to flow with the changes!

Hi, I'm glad you liked the book marker we got you. We are flying on August 12th at 6:45AM. We are hoping you are one of our flight attendants.
