Cool I did same thing on my nova with front end painted gloss black.but I put straight axle up front.now I used solder to build my big tube headers with 22 bullet shells for header collecters.with of coarse cragers and ladder bars.thanks for sharing very cool.im subscribing to your channel.thanks

Thank you for liking and subbing. I have solder for headers, but I haven't felt the need to use it on any of my builds yet, but very soon. Thanks for the tip on the collectors, I will have to try that out. Do you modify the casing in any way?

I built this kit years back because my wife loves that era Nova and I couldn't afford the real thing for her. Not a bad kit, but (plastic rear axle, ill fitting front fenders). Thanks for sharing!

Yes, the thing that makes the kit rough is how poorly the fenders fit. I'd love to see them make a new mold with the fenders attached.

@Model Cars Yes, me too. I'll just sand and bondo (model putty) till I'm happy, then paint it.

I always wanted that kit to put in a garage diorama as an "in process" build. I agree on the extra parts/options! Hence why I'm a big fan of AMT because of their 3n1s. May be a love/hate with AMT in general sometimes lol!

I think I was spoiled as a kid, it seemed like every kit at that time was a 2-n-1 or 3-n-1.

I love fact that fenders come off on this kit iv freind who picked it up for me b4 doing so he mentioned fitment issues but I want it for in my garage I'm adding on another kit shop so it's 2 wanted nova been worked on ye know so can't wait till iv time to get it build it with extra garage to add onto one in channel pic on my card so be cool with lift added and couple cars in shop side to display showroom side ye know,👍cool

That sounds cool. Hpiguy's built the Old Pro with one of the fenders off, to look like it was being worked on. I think he had the fender off on a sawhorse like it was having body work done to it. Thanks for watching.

I have to agree with you. I also have a love/hate relationship with that kit......mostly hate these days. I've built that more than a few times over the years. Now I steer clear of it. I have enough gray hair. 🤣

I have the Street Burners Nova in my stash...at least I think it's the street burners Nova. It's a Revell...that much I remember. Lol.

It’s built without fenders because it shares most of the parts with the Pontiac Ventura kit

That is a kit I have only seen built. I have never seen a boxed Ventura kit, but I haven't been around much of a variety of kits either. I talk a little bit about that in my newest video. Thanks for watching brother.

I'm almost 58, and have had that Nova more times than I could count. That missing chunk missing from the rear window mounding, wasn't a issue on the first few I built, in the late 70s, early 80s. Then, later issues, especially when it had the Ertl logo, and was molded in black, that's when they all seem to have that issue.

That's really interesting. Were they molded in something other than black before then. I've had 4 kits, all in black and from different time periods.

@@modelcars2978 I had a lot of white ones. I currently have a white one here, and a chunk is missing from the rear window. This one appears to be from early 80s ? As it's AMT on the box, not Ertl, but also has Lesney AMT corporation, Baltimore Maryland kit T365. I guess at one time, this kit was the Novacaine. It had separate front fenders the stock pair, and the altered wheel base "funnycar" version. That's what a lot of these had that windshield with the scoop opening.

The only kit I ever stomped with steel toe boots.

I picked up another one a couple weeks ago and it was the worse one yet. The driver's side door was misshaped. I wanted to stomp on it with my work boots. I've got a plan for it. Thanks for watching brother.

Got recommended over from other modeling areas (40k/gunpla). Besides the odd childhood kits, I’ve gotten a little entitled and used to Bandai’s crazy tolerances and no-glue kits, hundreds of pieces that snap together for a fully articulated model. Rarely any mold or seam lines and tons of undergating, certainly no warping. I don’t know what cars they make though, apart from the turbine 80’s Batmobile and the new musclecar Batmobile from earlier this year (1/35 scale). Very apropos of ‘murdered out black’. There’s a lot of tools from our side of the hobby that might be interesting feom ‘Gunprimer’ and DSPIAE, like glass inverted files, tungsten drill bits, sharp single side nippers and a ton of other ‘luxury’ hobby equipment (had a ‘Glazer’ nano spray handed over for review purposes today, which is a final surface treatment). Happy hobbying, I hope your channel grows and that you finish your projects!

Thank you for watching and commenting. You're right on about the Bandai kits. I've gotten some for one of my boys that is into Lego and Star Wars. He's older now and I thought he would enjoy building them and the parts were so clean and went together beautifully.

Thank you, it seemed the only option with that passenger side fender.

The reason the front fenders are molded separately is because there was a Pontiac ventura kit also based on this mold

I love the IDEA of the kit, but they really should have been better quality.. Those fenders NEVER fit right and take a lot of work to make look good.. I traded my last build of that one to Jeremy Strickland almost completely finished because I was so burnt out trying to build something really nice with it.. Best of luck to you brother 😎👍
