I knew this was a great villain song. It may not be my favorite in the franchise -- that would be Open Up Your Eyes -- but you just showed its importance in not just the narrative, but also in its narrative. Not something I even came up with in my own re-re-relook at the film, a couple months ago.

This movie really did show how fear can change your view on the world. I can't get over how good this movie was.

One of my favorite movies of all time, it definitely shows it like it is, fear can make us hate things and want them gone or never want to be around them again, it’s where racism comes from, out of fear and hatred.

You’re absolutely right Addy. We get so wrapped up in fear and hatred towards each other now that a lot of times we lose sight of what is important. I got so wrapped up in trying to defend my hatefulness a week ago on this channel that I let it consume me and become a bully and for that I apologize. You really are a great person but some people in the comment section are just not respectful as they should be sometimes. Remember positivity and respect goes a long way. 😊❤

Fear can make one do things they normally never would do

I love you. I wonder why they made them look like tennis balls instead of being furred.

As much as i like Opaline and her songs, i have to admit there are no deeper messages in her lyric. In TYT song she just threatens ponies with fire and in MYM she's just unpologetic in being a villain

That's why I have such a distaste for her. G5 was about something meaningful, and it introduced a super generic villain instead of continuing to write real characters

@@AddyLovestar Well beside her, we also had Posey as temporary villain in the first MYM special and Allura seem to be an unwilling villain who does bad stuff because she believe she can only count on herself and her brother.

It always bothered me how the movie bent over backwards to absolve Phyllis of guilt. Like, her company basically runs the town, she actively profits off of all the fear and paranoia (and presumably has a hoof in all the propaganda films and posters). And yet, she's seemingly implied to have no ulterior motive for pushing Sprout to take charge. Sprout becomes a warmongering dictator without any influence from her, _and_ the decision to start making weapons was done (supposedly) without her knowledge. She doesn't even catch any flack for having raised Sprout to be a paranoid racist, or for enabling his regime for so long when she literally could've ordered him to stop at any moment. It's just weird, 'cause she's way more directly involved in stoking hatred and fear than the other leaders, and is directly responsible for everything Sprout did. I understand that reconciliation and coming together was the point, but it just feels weird when one character is treated the same as everyone else despite being _way_ guiltier.

Well they completely erased Phyllis from TYT after one episode and Sprout from the beginning, i guess this is their punishment

Phyllis is seen at the start of S2, if I recall, and Sprout reappears a few times in MYM

@@AddyLovestar Yeah one appeareance in one of first episodes and then no Phyllis for entire TYT, Sprout only appearead in TYT on Wanted posters
