You're spot on!!I was born & raised in the Appalachians too. I had to leave them for a job halfway across the country after college graduation. The first Christmas I returned home to see family, tears slid down my cheeks as I looked at them as the airplane flew over these glorious mountains in preparation to land. That was the first time I realized how much a part of me the Appalachian mountains truly are!! God bless and Merry Christmas to you and yours too. 🎄☃️🧑‍🎄

Watching Matt clean his gun reminded me of seeing my Dad doing that years and years ago when I was a child. I am in my middle 70's, and I think back to Dad telling me of a Christmas back in 1923 when he was 5 years old. They lived in the appalachian area of eastern ky. They were very poor as everyone else was in that area. That Christmas he got a pair of boots and he was so happy, that he sleepted with them on that night. I get tears in my eyes when I think about that. We have so much today and back then, a century ago alot of people did not. Merry Christmas Tipper, Matt, Katie and Corrie and Austin, and Granny.

Yes my Mom & her family from NC. Some up there by you & some towards the tri county area. Miss them all so much as most of them have passed. We spent a lot of time there throughout my life & my children & grandchildren as well.

So many people just live for the next exciting thing to happen in their lives. They don’t realize that life is made up of mostly common, mundane tasks of everyday. Being able to slow down and enjoy the little things like cooking a meal is truly a blessing. I never thought to use my biscuit cutter to chop garlic! That is a trick I shall remember, thank you. Also I enjoyed some of those crisp pickles on my burger tonight, yum. I’ll be making more of those come next summer. Have a wonderful evening my friend. Say hello to your sweet family. TeresaSue.

I have inherited 6 sets of China 🙄 I use it at Thanksgiving and was tired of me washing them twice every year😊 So I started wrapping all plates in Saran Wrap from dollar store. Put dinner plates all together salad, dessert plates, etc. Wrap them in and never had to wash them until after the meal 😊 Works great, and you don't have any dust .

The simplicity of your little hemlock tree speaks of the traditions of Appalachia in years gone by! I love it!

I think Gizzard and Giblet are fine names for the two grand sons that Matt has on the way! I love those names Matt great job coming up with those!

Tipper, Our lives cross paths in so many ways! It's basically the same! Mountain life is Simple but has it's tough times also. I love the way you decorated the little tree. It's so pretty! Matt made me hungry when I saw him making cornbread and cutting up taters n onions. I knew that y'all were gonna have a pot of beans, cornbread, fried taters n onions, and probably some deer or side meat of sort. That's a perfectly good Supper to me. Can't beat it with anything! He's quite the Chef ain't he? Lol. I love to see a man cook meals for his family. My husband cooked alot of meals when I was working laying block n brick! He was working but not nearly as hard as I did and he got home before I did. If it was gonna rain, we'd work late to get the job finished or get as much done as possible! The Biscuits n Gravy are always a meal you can have anytime! Whoop up a pan of biscuits n gravy with some meat on the side and fast simple but delicious meal. I've busted up alot of firewood in my life and hauled it to the house. It'll wear you out but keeps you warm. I adored hearing the girls sing at the end. My grandmother use to hang her Christmas cards like this and my mother did too years ago... Of course they are all gone now and I miss them deeply... Your videos remind me of those precious days with my mom dad and family members... We all lived in the Country... Ky then.. We have a casual set of Christmas dishes we use December 1 to December 31:for every meal - then for special dinners we use the Lenox fine china. A big part of our traditions. 🎉

I can remember as a child watching my Dad clean his gun he used for hunting brings back a lot of good memories of him thanks for posting this Matt

I've always saved my cards and used them to make gift tags for gifts the following year! They really dress up a present. I use both the inside greeting, cutting off with pinking shears the signed portion. You write "To:" and "From:" and tape it flat to the gift. The front of the card makes the prettiest tags. I write the "To" & 'From" on the back side. Then I use a hole punch to tie it with ribbon, twine or whatever. Everyone always comments on the beautiful tags. So much better than buying new ones and then throwing them right in the landfil. (In my opinion. lol) 🎁🎄🌲🎅

So dear the way you and Matt pinch up the biscuits before topping with gravy (instead of halving the biscuits and cutting off bites as you eat). Such a small thing, but somehow says how much you relish your food. And such food!

My mother always sets her dining room table with her Christmas dishes. Meals are ate on them all month.. washing and replacing after each meal. It looks beautiful and is ready to go each time. No need to pack away the regular dishes. Maybe you could try that too? It would be easier and you could enjoy your beautiful dishes every year. ❤

Am crying with happy tears to see you two sisters about to bring new life into this world singing this beautiful old song. What a blessing to this world your children will be. Merry Christmas to you all.

Seeing Matt load up the firewood reminds me of how my husband and I did that job. We split our logs in the side yard then transported the split wood to the front porch, where we stacked it, by stacking it in the bucket of our loader on the tractor then raising it just over the porch railing so I could grab it and stack it. I miss those days so much!!

Lots of wonderful scenes in this video! Tipper, I learned a neat craft years ago from a relative, on how you can recycle your Christmas cards into gift tags that you can use on future presents...Take all of the cards with pretty scenes on them, especially, and using a pair of pinking shears, you cut out the picture..Then, using plain white paper or card stock, fold it in half and put the picture on top, then use the same shears to cut around it...Paste or glue the pic to the card and inside you have a blank card to write To and From...They look so pretty with the edges cut and are so cute... I have made many in the past and love them!

I grew up around Grundy Virginia in the 1950's and 60's and something I always remember was it almost always snowed around Christmas . I will pray all you are blessed with a little snow this Christmas . Stay warm and safe .

Years ago Martha Stewart had a beautiful tree on her show! It was made out of white goose feathers i believe it was. And the ornaments were glass, antique, and eclectic even maybe. The ornaments were a beautiful light turquoise, and light eggshell blue. So pretty! I love Christmas cards! The beautiful scenes, and the verses,or sayings,poems in them.

I love that little tree! So sweet and happy looking. Just the right note.

Seems like a very peaceful place to live.

Great video! The drone footage was beautiful. Matt sure whooped up a good looking supper! It brought back such bittersweet memories for me seeing Matt cleaning his gun..I can't tell you as a child how many times I would sit and watch my dad meticulously clean his..and after I married my husband, he was an avid deer hunter, and I would watch him sit for hours and clean all his guns. Watching you prepare breakfast was just liking watching my mother fix breakfast! Breakfast has always been my favorite meal. I had had the great privilege of being raised in the mountains of WNC too, and had many of the same meals you prepare by two great women, my mother and her mother. Thank you tipper for taking me back to some great memories, even if did cause me to shed a few tears.❤

Really enjoyed seeing Mr Matt clean his muzzleloader. I was wondering if it’s not too much to ask if he would be able to do a video on his saddle tree stand? How he sets it up and how it works!! I’m thinking of getting one and I wouldn’t trust anyone else on video on how to set one up. Awesome video and God Bless.

I had a pretty good supper (chili and I recommend using beer in it, lager is what I use) but Matt's cooking still managed to make me feel hungry, felt like I could smell it cooking and it smelled great ! LOL You got so many Christmas cards, Tipper. Not the case here, people have kind of fallen off sending them (at least our people have, I guess). Everything there looks so beautiful. THANK YOU, as always !!! 🎄 💞 🙌🏼 P.S. The girls' "Away in a Manger" was such a treat. That harmony, so beautiful, and I reckon they've sung that one a few times by the sound of it. Really beautiful and I like thinking those little babies are hearing that and feeling their mothers singing and playing. That's got to be good for them, their development. Love it.
