Ойын-сауық

Today I start making some changes to the LEGO room to better accommodate my parts... both sorted and unsorted! I have A LOT of unsorted bulk that needs to be dealt with! WOW! I never knew there was so much! Sooo in this VLOG I walk through the process of making the changes.

I’m the type of person who needs to have things organized and in order. A big part of the content I enjoy in your videos is watching how you continuously manage the room to keep the collection in check. It’s a lot of work to keep organized!

I could never see myself letting it get that far gone, but if I did then I would take all the unsorted bulk, run it through the big sifter, and put the different levels into different bins. That way you have a bin of all the same size pieces. It is still unsorted, but it is more sorted and more bearable over having a bin will all sizes of pieces.

Suggestion to help : Make it a goal to not buy anymore LEGO sets or LEGO pieces until all your stuff is sorted 👍🏻❤️ then you might be more motivated to get it all done quicker, hope this might help you. Love your videos

It's oddly satisfying to watch the progress of sorting and cleaning up, even motivating. You should do a vlog series documenting the progress sorting your bulk parts and putting those wooden Lego sorting bins to work. I know it's a daunting and overwhelming task but just work through it slowly, 1 bin at a time. Honestly, you could probably save a lot of money if you just take the time to sort instead of placing Bricklink and PAB orders, because you likely have a lot of what you need and you may even find some hidden treasures - rare and useful parts, especially in your childhood lot; I spotted the sails from 6274 Caribbean Clipper @13:40, such a great little pirate ship.

Soooooooo I am watching and taking notes on what works for my space & what I like etc- dude I feel your pain- idk how you have the energy to get it all done, but I can say I am quite impressed! I wish I could find the wide sterilite drawers for smaller pieces- I really do think they discontinued them- or have come out with something in its place- all I know is none of it works for what I need right now lol. Excellent job! I am thinking I’m gonna neee to take out a loan in order to get my space live able again lol

Rather than modifying the wall behind the rolling table you could just get some j hooks and attach them to the ceiling just in front of the wall. Then you have a sheet of canvas or something similar that you simply clip to that when you need it and otherwise roll up. Either that or a screen for a projector will do the same and let you keep the wall as is.

It's easy for folks to say take some time out to sort those bins, but being a full time KZreadr, husband and father (too two adorable twins I would add) that finding time is near impossible! So many projects, editing, making content, whilst maintaining a relatively healthy work/life balance is tough I bet. Not sure I could do it. I find it tough at times with just the one bambino. Wicked content as always Jordan. Really enjoy these kind of vids. Sending blessings to you all.

You can shift the dustbin from it’s place and place it under the table after this you can place another table with wheels in place of the dustbin and keep your winter college on it. When ever you want to open the drawers you can move the table.

@Bricksie - just systematically remove old build models. So have a rule - to build someting new - need to replace (destroy) something new. Also you can sell dissasembled stuff to fans. Also you can create pools - when fans decide - which structure should be repaced by something new. Lego sorting machine built from lego to sort unsorted bricks from boxes automatically?

My 10 year old daughter and I recently finished sorting her Lego collection (which includes my childhood collection from the 90’s, my brothers’s Lego from the 80’s, many sets she received as gifts, and a gigantic bin of unsorted Lego we bought at a thrift store). It was super satisfying to finish and we’ve been building cool stuff. We built the Lego Friends cat hotel and the 3 in 1 birdhouse using only parts we already owned. I recommend finding someone who loves sorting to help out. I find it relaxing.

For the cords, my first thought was using empty paper towel rolls and toilet paper rolls for each cord, labelling the roll on the outside. Now I want to do that for my own cords! Not the most attractive idea but they'll be hidden in the drawer anyway and less likely to get tangled. Another thought was to have Simon take maybe one hour per shift (or more if he enjoys it) to sort Lego and it will soon be done. You have motivated me to go do some decluttering so thank you!

Your Silly Heads, put them behind your carbage bin, in one or two towers. Then fill them with various overflow plant materials, that way you know, one tower has leaves, one has medium leaves, one big leaves, ect, ect. Could even go with a three tower, if so wanted. Think a bit. Like using them for your builds, while you are on the location, as a mobile storage bin or perhaps the sorting bins for separating sets for your MOC's. That would help you in the future, I guess.

15:00 I think that's your real biggest problem. You've got so much unsorted lego stored away, that you actually forgot about having them. When you're having a new idea to build really awesome stuff, like you usually do, you're in dire need of parts. But you forgot you already have them. So you go and order them - even though you already have them. And by doing so you're multiplying the parts you already have, don't sort out and forget about them again, leading to next time you've got an idea, you order pieces again... making things worse. (I''ve been there, too, so I understand the problem). TLDR: sort your lego bricks, seriously, damnit.

Briskie, an idea for organizing your cables is to get some velcro from a craft store and the wind up the cords and secure them with the velcro. It will allow you to place the cords in the draw in a more organized manner.

Random: a probable reason why that one drawer is taller is because of the carpet tack strip that runs along the outside of the carpet against walls. Since that’s a corner, it’s on top of a tack strip on the back and side of the drawer. Also why the front corner of that drawer closest to the other drawers is closer to being level with those other drawers.

For example, a couple of weeks ago there was a video about a massive sale of minifig inventory to generate cash…yet a few days later new random minifigs were bought.

You should auction the silly heads as mystery boxes on whatnot. Put some surprise sets, mini figs and pieces in there.
