This video contains only artwork I made, but just a note:
For the part about the detailed brushes, I used a rather strong cameo
to the movie "My neightboors Totoro" owned by the studio Ghibli.
Derivation of this material should take this point into account and
consider this part possibly under "fair-use".

man thanks a ton for being such a positive influence in the art community
Good god you're a life saver. So many hours of overthinking reduced to minutes thanks to you. Give us newbies a much better idea and feel for the ground work of learning digital illustrations. Thank you.
This will honestly help me a ton. I've learnt a lot about drawing over the past few years, but the most difficult part for me has been understanding how to use the brush tools of digital art. So having instructions on how to use yours will help me improve my art a ton.

I have same problem ! Its very difficult to use brushes very well. I'm good at drawing but I dont manage brushes (I have a lot of brushes so its hard to choose good ones !). This video is very usefull to know how to understand this tool :) (David vous êtes un bienfaiteur pour les artistes auto-didactes comme moi, qui patauge parfois avec tous ces outils ! Merci infiniment pour vos vidéos !)

You're such an inspiration! Not just the artwork but also your attitude, dedication etc. Thank you so much for sharing those brushes and putting so much work into making them easily usable for everyone from beginner to pro. Hello David. Been using your brushes and tutorials for years. Very excited to see this new pack. I'm always really impressed with your passion for art, technology, and open source philosophy! :) You've made me much more conscious in all of these areas. (If it weren't for gaming, I'd try Linux lol)
Merci pour ce partage et tes explications sur tes brush.
I think these are exactly the brushes i needed! I've been kinda struggeling so far only using the main brushes which probably caused a lot of effort, as i was trying to create textures with the casual paintbrush presets drawing over the same place over and over again to achieve the right look. On the other hand these brushpacks often feel overwhelming and i don't know to use them as a beginner. So this video was just perfect! Now i wanna jump right into painting :)
i gonna cry thank you !
your brush are always very good, love seing your new work flow every time, I thinks that I would try your brush soon ^^

thank you i am new to drawing, I am learning basic in krita but there are so many brushes I am confused what to use lol, thank u for the bundle and video explaining each !😀
I've been struggling with trying to use the brushes in krita, as none of them would feel easy to use. This is a fantastic brush bundle! Thank you for sharing something so fantastic for free :)
You are such a good man David. I hope your cats doing well)
You are an absolute godsend!!! Krita is not as popular as say photoshop so finding decent brush packs can be a pain in the ass. Honestly such a pretty and useful brush pack. Keep it up and I hope to see more from you!!!
Hi man, is a pleasure to see how you use your own brushes. I notice your brushstrokes are really short and with energy, like oil painting. interesting. good bundle. Do you remember when we were defining the first brushes for Krita? i still keep the originals from 2011 in a hard Drive. IS beautiful to see how everything evolves in Krita.
Thank you very much for explaining how you use this brush pack of yours, mr. Revoy. ❤👍😄 I'll tag you (on Twitter/ Krita forum) when I finish a drawing with it if that's alright with you.
really helpful, I downloaded the package, Ill give in a sub and a like. ty. ty.

hi david i need your help! i got a new notebook and i want to move the brushes i have in the older to the new, how can i do that? in krita obviously. i cant find them on my downloads and i dont remember where i get them.
How did you get your brush layout like that?
Thank you so much for this my friend, you are really doing God's work. My best wishes to you David.
Hello sir , I have a question for you , first of all I do appreciate your patience and dedication towards art and accent . Are those brushes can be used for commercial purpose ? Example : if i draw and paint a picture by utilizing your brushes and uploading on youtube or any Nft secondary market ? Is it safe and copyrighted free ?
@DavidRevoy
14 күн бұрын
Hey, they are just a tool: your creation will always be yours. So, don't be affraid to use them to make your commercial paintings, even painting things that I wouldn't approve, it's ok, it's your art. The only exception I have on the license of the brush concerns the brush-pack themselves. I just ask to not redistribute the brushes (the brush files) under another name, and in case of modfication of them , to just indicate they are modified version from my pack at origin. I hope it clarify everything !
Hey loved the video! Someone can tell me if its possible to make that brushes work on mouse? they start and end as the same, in the video his brushes start and end thinner
@DavidRevoy
4 ай бұрын
Hey thanks! For mouse, they only have X and Y axis, they don't have pressure. A stylus has the pressure sensitivity, going from 0% to 100% the most you press. That's what you are seeing in the video. It's not possible to do that with a mouse.
On your website under the Brushes tab, I see multiple brush packs. Does this brush pack include or supersede the contents of all previous brush packs (or updated versions of them)? Or is each brush pack unique?
@DavidRevoy
22 күн бұрын
Hey, it's an evolution. While drawing my comic and doing my illustration, I fine-tune my brushes to be closer to effect I'm personally looking for. Each two years or so, they often mutate very far from the last time I shared, so I make a new snapshot. You'll find a lot in common with previous brushkit, sometime 1:1 for the brush who doesn't evolve. But also new one, big changes. They shouldn't collide for the name of the files: I take care to rename them always.
Hey! I fell in love with these brushes but my school only lets us use Photoshop... Is there any way to upload these into photoshop? or do you have it available in PSD format?
@DavidRevoy

Hey, thanks for the brush. No, it's not compatible: even if they have million in $ benefits and hundreds of devs; Ps still hasn't took the time to make their brush engine compatible with Krita. A shame, because the spec of Krita and the code is open. They totally have the manpower and resources to make an import system of Krita bundles, but they don't. As a Ps customer, you should go to the platform of Adobe and tell them how it is important to you. Maybe they listen now their customers. In my time, they weren't listening and I left for this reason.
A bit hard to find krita brushes, thank you! Also what size canvas are you using here?
@DavidRevoy
Жыл бұрын
Hey! Right now, the type of canvas I like to use on my computer are 3840x2047 ; and on my laptop a bit same ratio but rarely over 3000 large for the performances.
@Bmystyle
Жыл бұрын
@@DavidRevoy Hey, thanks for the reply! Was curious because the brushes looked a little different for me, but most likely because I was using a larger canvas! O.O
Question: Is this set meant to "replace" the stock brushes in Krita or do you personaly use them both in tandem? I'm asking this because some of the brushes, (like the crayon ones, for example) seem quite similar to the ones Krita already has.
@DavidRevoy
Жыл бұрын
Hey, it's because I made the base set for Krita (with exception and nuance, because more brushes were plugged after by Ramon Miranda, and the base set I made for Krita 4 was a mix of my set and many community proposed brushes, the full credit is in the "resource manager"). It is not meant to replace the default, but on my side, I use it as it is only. I just made this brushkit to clean my own workspace with the brush I used the most.
