My Koenders Windmill Review - Jim's Story

Ғылым және технология

"Leaving More to the Land Than As We Came To It"
Jim is a conservationist with a 40-acre preserve and a 1/3 acre pond. He has a Koenders Double Diaphragm Windmill and uses Nature's Pond Conditioner Ultra Concentrate and Nature's Pond Dye.
"All in all, I hope people can feel my sincerity of the Koenders Windmill and my “Preserve” project. It has been a dream since I hunted on a gentleman’s 40 acre “Preserve” some 44 years ago as a teenager. I was inspired and so I hope my “Preserve” serves to inspire others also, leaving more to the land than as we came to it. [Maybe you Koenders people can do something with that slogan?] " - Jim Langer, Wisconsin

Can you tell me what diameter the concrete was? I have a 6 and 9” auger. Thanks.

@@imsteveb Hello! Here is a response from Jim. If you need more information, he also left his phone number. You can reach me at marketing@koenderswatersolutions.com for me to privately pass it on to you. Response: I have heard of towers blowing over, so I would recommend a solid mounting to the ground, especially for high towers or a shorter one like mine on top of a hill. I initially put my 8" diameter concrete columns into the ground because my site had some slope to it. You can buy the forms at building centers if covid hasn't limited the supply. Or, I used some disposed plastic paper roll cores from a paper packaging company that my neighbor gave me. I had a 10" auger and drilled them in at least 36" deep, to ensure below the frost line. I believe 6" diameter would adequately work, as you still embed the pipe stakes down through the concrete columns, then fill in around the concrete footings with clean fill. Make sure you drill the holes several inches bigger to allow for the crooked drilling and being able to plumb the columns vertically. Another advantage to being able to level and secure the tower by pouring concrete columns is that you avoid the unknown possibility of hitting a buried rock if just driving the pipe stakes into the ground. That could cause a big problem deflecting the stake in the ground... I had LOTS of rocks!

@@naturespondcare7566 Thank you! I apprciate the reply. I have a 9" auger and I am going to go with that. I feel more confortable with 9" vs 6" though I agree 6" diameter would be fine. Again, thank you for the information, it was very helpful.

Is it just me? I didn't see any aeration in the pond? Does it work?

Hello Mark, yes the windmill creates the aeration in the pond using an airstone diffuser. It wasn't a very windy day when Jim did his video.

No it does not. Search the forums before purchasing this. You will see they do not work as advertised. I have not seen any good reviews except the testimonials they post on their own website or people they pay.
