Thanks for the video. I have a Koenders Windmill and am currently working on a pond care video myself. I was not getting enough pressure to push to the air stone and followed your troubleshooting. It turned out that the nut for the check valve was loose so I didn't have to go too far, will have to give you a shout-out. Thanks again Steve.

Very helpful video. We have the older pump (one of your right in the video). There seems to be two diaphragm kits available. Which diaphragm do we order? Also, you mention replacing the plastic elbows on top if the unit - can you give us the specs on what we need (before we go up the ladder)? Thanks

I have the older model too. I’m having to fix it myself. Might you have some resources you could share? My serial number is 7112. Which kit did you get?

I’m disappointed that koenders doesn’t make any supporting videos for rebuilding, troubleshooting or routine maintenance. Koenders DOES make a lot of marketing videos.

Great video! Do you know why a windmill would not freely spin to pump? Mine trys and often cannot complete full turns to hear the baffle except on really windy days when it is forced around. Been this way since new. Do you think I built it wrong? Thanks

the piston rod may need adjustment , there is a jam nut that has to be broke loose then the piston assm. can be spun to adjust for clearance . the top plate has to be removed to do this . the plate the diaphragm sits on should be level with the top of the housing if it is too high it will cause it to contact the top plate and bind up and do what you are describing. normal operation at low winds will do what you have too ,as pressure builds the wind mill pump has to over come water pressure . one other thing to check is that you don't have the stone deeper than 12' and have a problem with too much head pressure

What if you cannot lay it down because the last owners cemented it at the base? They also put cement on the screws at the base!!!!

@@fendersfishhatchery560 Yes I see what you mean now. Tried using a puller and heat and it just ripped the outer race off. Ended up cutting them off with a grinder with a cutting disk. Worked pretty good. Thanks for the tips man.

I have the new model and its creating air but not able to build the pressure needed to make the airstone bubble. Any advise? Its about 4 years old and stopped building pressure about a year ago. Thank you ..great video.

Mine is the earlier model on the left. My family took over a property that has a Koender model 7112. It’s not been used for years. The last owner tied it off so it wouldn’t move around because it was making a loud noise. I am wondering what that might indicate? I would like to see a video that covers the older model being repaired. Our pond needs the air desperately.

I have an old one too and I bought the kit when I purchased the windmill years ago; it has not pumped air for 5 years or so and I'm ready to fix it. Mine too started making noise this year. It's got to be a bearing that doesn't want to turn any more. Take it down and replace. That's what I'll be doing.

Do you have an idea what the occasionally squealing sound is? My unit is about 15 years old. Does that seem like a bearing? Great video.

At 15 years you probably have a bearing on it’s way out Watch the tail fins and if they start to shake that is another indication that a bearing is bad
