Really enjoyed watching you working on this with your kids. I celebrated each of their victories. :) The last time I built a PC was over 20 years ago. My eyes got wide looking at your kids' motherboard layouts, OMG! The GPU itself looked HUGE compared to what I had to deal with, plus all the "tubes" (or were they cords?) going to different components. Wow! It was great seeing them get to post! Yay!
Addie and Chloe, you both did AWESOME!!! Woooooowho!! I love it! I have taught all my kids how to take apart or build a pc, laptop, tablet, pi, goofy little robots, etc. Whatever I have been working on, they have been working on. My oldest recently installed some new RAM in her laptop. (OH sidenote: ALL daughters here too. Just one less than you. 😜) We are looking at getting one of them a PC and she will build it. They all know a bit of programming and can navigate most simple troubleshooting issues on a PC. I LOVE tech and I LOVE teaching em tech. It's so worth it! Keep it up! Do more with them!!
You, sir, are an amazing dad. You have no idea how much you just inspired me. Thanks. :)
A) Amazing effort by everyone involved. B) My nephew made the same "surprise face" when I built a computer with him several years ago and said "now we test it by booting the machine" and proceeded to use my screwdriver to jump the two pins for the power button. Bravo!
That was an awesome video! I can totally identify- so much fun (and frustration!) building a first PC with your kids, but I love how it teaches them more about how a computer works and gives them that satisfaction that they did it themselves. Your daughter's reactions are so priceless! I built a PC with my oldest son when he was 9, and looking forward to building with my 7 year old when he's old enough. Such a great project and video!
Great job everyone! Great job Dad for teaching them a valuable skill and patience with the kiddos!
Chuck seriously very inspiring to see you getting your girls started in tech early. I hope to emulate this with my kids one of these days Cheers mate!
This is inspiring! I’d love to do this when I have kids one day. My parents never would have done this stuff with me. I can imagine your frustration but you did well.
This was so cool! I enjoyed watching them. I never thought about doing this, so I put it on the list for the things I want to do with my future kids.
12:17 I see both GPUs are installed in the bottom slots. The top slot typically has more PCIE lanes directly connected to the CPU and therefore work a bit faster. Great to get your daughters involved!
Oracle is taking over the company my mom works at. Which is cerner
I wish I have a dad like you who teach his children and support them. God bless you and bless your family.
WOW!!!!!! That was the coolest video that you have made to date.. Teaching your daughters to build correctly is such a great thing and they should be so proud of how well they did and i can tell how proud of them you are as well.. Good luck to them as they jump into the world of Tech and happy learning/coding/hacking..
Just loved this. Much love. ❤️❤️ Though she came 2nd, i just feel Addy will be the genius amongst all 5. You go Addy. 😀😀
I started my daughter with upgrades of her computer, later a complete build. She was 12 at the time. Researching and picking the parts, she was able to learn about the parts. Would I do it again? Yes!

all respect to this guy, this might be his hardest video ever, working on expensive stuff with kids is insanity. with one kid its hard, with two at same time id say impossible, but he did it somehow.
Awesome DAD, I like the way u teach them, hard to do homeschooling but worth it, for their brighter future. N the best part is, your daughters will be able to see their childhood journey and the efforts their parents did for them. Coz it will be always on KZread.
Man, I love your editor's skill in this video. Make sure to give him/her a raise....

I always love seeing another dude share his passion with his kids. I have my daughter and younger son on ubuntu. All my kids know how to terminate to industry standard Rg6 and 11 Cat cable with color codes for A and B This includes punch down and RJ cables. Gonna start the journey into networking with them. We will learn together.
Such a sweet video and a nice break from straight up researching/learning. I'm not a father yet, but I fully intend to teach my kid/s to code, both so as they can be more security conscious when online as well as always having a means of solving problems in life as they inevitably come up. Not only that, but also to give them a massive head start in terms of career prospects when they eventually graduate from high school. Physically/mechanically, I also want them to A: know how to put together a PC and B: either be able to figure out what's going on when something goes haywire and fix it or likewise find a way around the problem to achieve their goal/s.
These kids should get paid 😂 I really enjoyed their kid reactions according to their age, just so typical, hehe. And how they ran to go learn python at the end 🤣 Great video. My son was the first one to build a PC in the family, actually. Him and his sister were much older when we started building our own computers, but it was still a great experience to have together. Besides, it’s the only way you get what you want out of your machine.
I laughed, I cried, I felt your pain and their struggles. Great job girls! What’s a Robuck?

Wow! This is awesome, I'm planning on a similar approach with my daughter. It was really helpful to see the struggles you went through since all she cares about is Fortnite and Roblox as well. The way you raise your kids girls is amazing!
Woohoo - 5 kids! I've tried similar exercises with ours using micro bits / electronics, Raspberry Pi's, laptops et al. It usually ends in boredom, tears or both. Fantastic effort.
4:06 I've watched a lot of pc-related videos, and I just learned what MSI stands for.
I still remember the first time I built my own PC. It was more of an upgrade but this was back graphics cards were PCI-E. It was quickly becoming apparent that the computer I had recently bought needed a graphics card, but to my horror I didn't have the proper slot on my motherboard and I knew very little about PC hardware at the time so I turned to a friend who was not only working in the IT field, but also had his certification in PC repair and asked him what I needed and if he'd do the work for me. Well he gladly agreed and once I had the motherboard I needed I packed up my PC and the parts and sent it off to him for a job I figured would take no more than a week considering his schedule. Two weeks pass, no word. So I call him up and I'm told "I couldn't get it to work, come pick it up whenever." Well I did, and it was in even worse shape than when I sent it too him, drives weren't recognized, and I still have no graphics card. Flash forward a few months and I'm halfway through a non-certification PC repair course at the local college and I've been staring at this unused motherboard for months now but I finally feel like I have the knowledge it takes to attempt this myself. So I clear off my desk, break my PC down to each separate piece and I slowly begin the process of swapping everything over. Imagine my shock when I push the power button and it actually POSTs (Power On Self Test in anyone is wondering) on the first try. That was the moment I became hooked on computer hardware and the number of computers I owned began to multiply.
@skilz8098

I built my first pc when graphics cards were still AGP slots... pre PCI-Express. Hard Drives were Ribbon Cables with Master and Slave jumpers instead of SATA ports. There was no ethernet jack as modems were still RJ45 phone jacks for dial up modems. The era of operating systems was Win 95/98. I'd rather build my own than buy prebuilt bloatware machines.
hey, Network Chunk I am from Kenya and I must say you're really amazing especially when you engage your family it not only indicates love but passion for what you're doing..I admire your work from day one. keep up bro
This is a great idea and a moment that the entire family will remember. Great job at being dad and having buckets of patience. Your lucky to have 5 children. Great job!
Gimme the parts for free, I'll assemble 'em in an hour. 😂
A+ to you and your daughters! Way to stick with it and get through it as a team together! Maybe we will see them learning Linux in a future video or something.

Really loved this, true life challenge balls and all. My kids have, and will be experiencing this. Miss 17 (1 of 4) is passionate about her IT cert 3 course, loving it. That’s why my hair is so grey. Focus is a fleeting thing, and good Dads are up for the challenge because they really want to teach their kids, it is a complex social family exercise, the kids are not always invested but the memories last forever and they gain confidence. Your “trauma” will settle, eat chocolate, drink coffee. LOL I relate to this so much, it is an everyday event for me, thank God.
Wow they did such an amazing job and they seemed so competitive to win at the end! Such well spoken young girls with a great father in their life! Awesome video, really put a smile on my face :)
I did this with my brothers in law (17 and 15) at the time and the mere fact that you got two child sub teenager to learn all that is impressive. Massive respect xD
My Son and I rebuilt my old (2004) gaming machine with modern components a few years back. It was a lot of fun and it's great to see my old modded case still being used today. Unlike a lot of newer gaming machine this one still has a DVD/BD drive and it still has the cool two line Matrix Orbital LCD screen in the front as well. The old cold cathode lighting has been upgraded with LEDs.
Much respect, I'm surpriesed they sat long enough to build them.

My daughter just turned 4 and is obsessed with my computer, and helping me with tech projects. Yesterday she ambushed me as I came in the door from work, asking to help me fix a bad punchdown on the patch panel, so Mom could hardwire the TV. As a fellow girl dad, I just melted seeing their reactions throughout this video.
