It is such a joy to have a clear slate after lots of committed reading, isn’t it! Although it also makes me excited to see a Read Good Challenge pick 😂 Late finishes are totally fine!!!

It must be lovely to move on from the women's prize now! I didn't read all of the list but it was nice to read other stuff now that I'm done with it. I hope you have a great reading month. I absolutely loved An American Marriage, and I'm sure you'll have fun reading Beth O'Leary, I always do.

Very pleased with myself with all the reading, but yes so pleased to move on haha and also not be bound by time pressure I guess! Aw so glad to hear about An American Marriage! I need to get back to it now that my mind is a bit more free!

Great to hear! I'm finding it so interesting! Although a bit slow to read, I'm in the milk chapter and I keep glazing a bit 😆

It's quite funny how you say you're finally going to read something other than women's prize books, and then the two first books you mention are other women's prize books 😂I'm on my final longlist book now, and also trying to get through most of the non-fiction shortlist before the winners are announced. I read Romantic Comedy with a group last year, and I expected not to like it at all but it was actually a really nice summer read. Especially the first half, which is set in what's basically Saturday Night Live, was really fun.

😆 you know I thought I was free, but I saw that I put these other reading pressures on myself. At least it's not on any time deadline like I was trying to do with the fiction longlist! 🤪 so impressed by your reading of the NF shortlist! It's reading so slowly for me right now!

I’m not a big romance reader anymore (I used to be years ago) but I did like Romantic Comedy.

How long does your library give you when you take a book out? The 'hot' in hot-desking doesn't sound very hot haha. However, my interest was piqued when you said fan fiction Agatha Christie haha, but it doesn't sound like one for me. It probably is worth sending Eve back and reserving it again haha, I did that for Kala and I got it back quite soon after (and still haven't read it). Good luck with your TBR for this month :)

It gives 3 weeks and yet it always seems to be only like 2? haha I think I'm never ready for my holds to come in! I actually went to the library and asked them if anyone was waiting and they just moved the due date to when I wanted 😂 totally worth making friend with the librarian!

@@hasteyebooks hehe I think it's 2 if someone has reserved it, that's what mine is like anyway. But yes, sometimes when I'm collecting my books and some are due for renewal, the librarian who knows me will renew the reserved ones for me haha, so I agree totally worth being friendly!
