My Journey to PA-C |My Story|Stats|Application

Фильм және анимация

I apologize for my hiatus, but I'm back!! This is a long requested video and I hope it helps you guys who are aspiring to get into PA school!
DISCLAIMER: I didn't really explain enough why my GPA was not the best in college. One of my really good friends passed away in my Freshman year of college, so that really had a huge impact on me that lasted a while (I believe I did mention that in my interview, I'm not positive). Also, with being on the dance team and working a lot, I didn't have much time to focus on my studies
I talk a lot in this video so if you just want to skip to parts here ya go haha:

I am a Junior in college majoring in Neuroscience and I have wanted to be a PA since finding out about the profession WAY back as a Freshman in high school. Back then, I had to explain to people what a PA was since the profession had little exposure but now, it is literally everywhere. People are shifting from medical school to PA school which terrifies me due to the competition.

I'm having trouble planning the exact prerequisites I'll need for PA school. What do you think is the general rule of thumb about that? (for example, I'm seeing that some schools need 8 hours of Organic Chem, but some don't need any at all. Or some programs require two psych classes as opposed to one) Thanks!!

Thanks for this video! I am a psych major at a well-known 4-year university and I want to be a PA but I only have a 3.0 GPA:( I am a sophomore right now, but I have the opportunity to graduate a year early next year, but only if I don't take my science prereqs at my university, but do it at a Community college after I graduate. Would this be a bad idea? I'm thinking it would save me a lot of money plus I could use that year as a part-time student to bring up my pce hours, but I don't know if it would look to leave my 4-year (with a pretty low gpa) to go to a CC where my grades would probably be better.

Sha'Chorace Phelps The most important thing when trying to go to PA school is getting all of the prerequisite classes done. You can really major in anything you want, as long as you complete all of the prereq classes that the PA school requires. You can find this by researching the PA schools you are interested in. If the Health Care Professional degree fulfills all of them and you are really interested in that major, then go for it. Otherwise, I would suggest you either go straight to a university, or start at a community college and transfer later. I hope this helps!

Great video! I'd suggest not looking at yourself so much and look at the camera lens instead. It's distracting to see you looking at yourself so much

Its human nature to talk to faces, and watch faces while talking, even if it’s our own it’s more natural than talking to a camera lens. Literally have to override instinct to force yourself to look into the lens, it’s not easy and feels awkward and unnatural as hell.
