Late reply, sorry just found your channel. I have the same Vocab book (はじめての日本語能力試験N1単語2500). I'm aiming at N2 this year, but I'm using that book series for N3 and N2 vocabulary (my N3 score was passing but not good). That book series has free audio (words & sample sentences) and even JLPT-style vocab quizzes at the ask-books website. Even before I found the audio files, I was shadowing the sample sentences for getting a feel for the word usage. Not sure if you're doing that stuff (ie listening, quizzes, shadowing) already but it might help, or at least give some repetition that's not writing-intensive. Now to check the rest of your channel to find out how your N1 went.

Reading Japanese news is great! I am nowhere near N1 level (maybe N4 or a little higher) but I use several apps that give the news in Japanese. I read them through, like you do here, and make notes of all grammar and kanji I don't know yet, then read it through aloud. I then listen to it being read by Japanese journalists and try to replicate the way it is spoken (which also reinforces the kanji and grammar points!). It is a great way to study and also learn about the news (I don't watch television at all and I do not read newspapers, so this is a good way for me to learn about important news and what is happening in Japan while learning!)! I highly recommend this to any student of Japanese! P.S. I have an eidetic memory ... however, I have no control over what my brain decides to remember! I can tell you exactly what I was doing on a certain day when I was 6 and what the weather was and where my family and I ate ... I can tell you the configuration of every single classroom I have ever been in and where everyone sat and how the teachers dressed and how the weather was ... and I remember conversations in horrific detail. I wish I could put that to good use learning Japanese! If I am talking with someone it does help because my memory likes to remember conversations ... but the rest is up to my brain to decide if it wants to remember it or not! I got through high school not knowing how to study because I would just re-write everything I learned and my brain would remember it (even in AP Physics I would always finish tests first and I would use a spare sheet of paper to write piano music and my physics teacher was like ... ... "you can write music without playing it?!?" and I told him yes, eidetic memory + absolute / perfect pitch!). This doesn't work so well with languages that are not "Romance" languages, however, but I am fortunate in that some of my studying does just go into one of those "perfectly remembered" files ... but not nearly all of it! I wish I had an eidetic memory that remembered more "useful" things like this!!! Oh I also have that White Rabbit Press - if memory serves! - posted in my office above my computer (I am visiting my parents now!) and it does help to have it there because there are some that do just seem to absorb into my brain with no further issue! Everyone learns so differently!

Thank you so much! Firstly, being conscious of your own pronunciation is really important and also making sure you expose yourself to proper Japanese is crucial! (Don't only listen to those textbook recordings.. which are incredibly slow paced and aimed at language learners. Don't just use anime either!) I consumed so much Japanese content/media on a daily basis, especially in the early stages of my language journey. This included Japanese music, dramas and radio programs. While listening, I would make sure to take careful note of how native speakers would pronounce their words and I'd try my best to remember/copy their sentences. I'd also incorporate a little bit of the shadowing technique, but in my case this was more for the purpose of remembering phrases and improving my speed. I believe all of these things really helped with my overall accent. Hope this helps :)

@@seerasan thanks the only drawback of this way is that it's too time consuming watching a lot of dramas and shows in a second language without the help of a native speaker explaining to you the correct way to use the words or phrases.
