My Jeep Wrangler is BACK for Another Round of Upgrades!

What should my next project be..... Another LJ build or a CJ build?
My Jeep Wrangler has been sitting in a field for almost 2 years! Life got busy. I recently got the Jeep running again by replacing the alternator and charging the battery. I pulled it into the shop and replaced the intake, we think the old one had a small crack causing a vacuum leak. I installed a new gen intake with a larger throttle body, larger fuel injectors, and aftermarket fuel rails. We also had to swap to a different drive by wire harness for the Holly EFI since the throttle body had a different style connector. The Jeep was due for a new set of fender flares from KBD. They look AMAZING, I should have replaced the flares much sooner! I really like the DIY Highline fenders the previous owner did, and updating the flares is a good mix of old and new. I added a link below - they are budget friendly, durable, and will hold up over time. From someone that paints everyday, 100% focus on the prep work. Better the prep is, the better the finished product. I'd take the LJ fenders & Hood off focus your prep work on getting that clear all off, everything smooth, prime, get some blocking in and then seal everything up. Seems like most of the attention will be on fenders/hood. Maybe even spray the hood/fenders off the jeep on stands. Same red will just make life easy with not needing to do your jambs and other areas that you could just back tape. Excited to see you guys back on the LJ, and excited to see the steps in your process for prepping/painting.

Appreciate the advice!!! A lot of people have said prep work is key. I’m leaning towards keeping it the stock color after doing more research - much easier for a beginner like me 🤣

Heck yes! I’m a bit biased but I’m voting for LJ content. I’ve been working on mine so my wife and I can get back out. Doing a bit more camping oriented on our end.

I've had KBDs on my JK for about 4.5 years. They've held their shape great.
I have a '99 TJ with a paint called Chili Pepper Red. It's not bright red but it's not maroon either. If you want a not-as-common stock paint, this would be an option. I believe the paint code is a PEA. I would love to see a nice CJ build next.

Raptor liner looks pretty good and holds up to trail scratches. Best part is you can mix up small batches to do touch up. My wife and I spayed our JKUs and love it.

Swap those rear fenders from side to side. The should fit better
Pro tip....leave fuel rails on intake for removal or install. NEVER HIT SPACER ON ALTERNATOR BRACKET WITH HAMMER. Ask me how I know. Great job! Thanks for sharing

Those may be the AEV high line fenders. Not sure if they are DIY. May want to look into it.

Please do the CJ7 project first but don't change the suspension to coil over. Leave the leaf springs. The technology was fine as designed.

Most likely will keep the leaf springs. But this is why I am nervous about going with the CJ7 🤣 the cj crowd will either love it or hate it.
