Thank god that my son is now in the USA Airforce! I’ve been through the same b.s back in the seventies after graduation from high school in New York and saw my two too kids wanted to be independent after graduation 👩‍🎓 from from high school went through the same things. Those people (employers) take advantage of young people. My daughter worked for some of the biggest clothing department stores also my son here in Florida but never with Walmart. As a medical student! Try to see if you can get into a program by working at a hospital whenever you can when you’re here in the USA.

Hey bro, I went with SWAT. And don't worry, you get to go on the program max 3 times - so although you can't do it this year, there's always next year :)

I started my second job like probably a week and a half after I got there. And I got my SSN after like a month. I started my second job without my SSN because it was one of the few that would hire me without the SSN.

Well I didn’t have any relatives close by to where I stayed but yeah you could always request some time off to go visit friends or family (like for 1 or 2 days)

Just had to look in the area that my primary job was located in for other jobs that were hiring and I applied to them. I went with Krispy Kreme, showed them some documents and started working there. Honestly, you should run it by your sponsor and let them approve your second job before you start working there tho

@@tibbysclassic5951 first you'll have to find a reputable work and travel agency that is affordable and that you think is good. next, register with that agency. then, begin paying off your program fee. while you're paying off the program fee, the agency will give you access to a job list with all the jobs that their partnering sponsors are offering this year, and also allow you to upload all the necessary documents that they require. by the time you finish paying off the program fee, you'll receive ur work permit, then will possibly have to do a job interview, then do the embassy interview to get ur j1 visa and after all that ... you're ready to fly out in May

It's interesting fr ... I guess it's cause we get to pick, choose and refuse even after starting to work there - if we don't like the second job we can just leave and find a new one 😂 but we really don't have that luxury when it comes to the first job

I’d recommend SWAT tbh but that’s because they’re the only one I have experience with and my experience with them was a good one. It’s good to ask around tho because SWAT is not the most affordable nor is it the end all be all

Well it’s gonna be really hard to and chances are that the jobs you might have while up there won’t pay that much for you to save up 10k. But I don’t think it’s impossible-just very hard
