I just wish that Trick or Treat Studios would stop lying to us. Because I've seen their H1 and H2 masks in person, and they look nothing like the product image! Mostly with the 2018 mask! Like come on! I own their H4, H5, H6, H20, Resurrection, and 2018, and all of them look nice. But yea! ToTs needs to get their stuff together and show us what we are really getting!

Its all marketing they worry if they show the real thing it wont sell and the bootlegs will so the show a false image so you buy it its not lying its just a marketing tactic and tots isnt the only company cuz funko does it too

If I was the ceo I'd offer blank masks too, and if I replied to someone's comment about saying the paint job sucked I'd link him to the blank variant (it would even be cheaper too).

From what I have seen is that Trick Or Treat Studios wants to do blanks for people, but rather it’s not a issue of them not wanting to do it but rather an issue regarding the licensing holders or the property owners not wanting to support that market for a number of more company reasons. Otherwise I think we probably would have had blanks by now. I think they gave some people that option though with the original Kirk mask where you could convert it.

You are the reason i decided to paint my mask, and even though it didnt come out anywhere as good as yours did i still love the way it looks compared to the original paint job.

I backed their Seed of Chucky doll and every review I've left of it has been deleted by them. They advertised them as being able to pose and intentionally flexible and durable foam. I barely posed him and in under a month noticed massive tears in his limbs. (Bootlickers would laugh at me saying they're SUPPOSED to do that, they thought about having the foam cut to avoid that, but like....why the fuck didn't they do that? It would avoid massive ugly tears in the foam if they knew this was going to happen.) I had it for under a year when I noticed that his foam, which is exposed because of the Seed of Chucky outfit having tears and such, IS SIMPSONS. FUCKING. YELLOW. None of my friends who had bought the original Good Guy doll have had these issues. My friend once emailed them about his Michael mask shedding hair severely and the CEO pretty much told him to glue it on himself and called him an asshole or something like that. The dude is the most unprofessional dickhead I've met. I feel bad for anyone who's going to get the Tiff doll because her foam is exposed and it's gonna look fucking awful within a year.

Yeah my original TOTs good guys foam under both the arm joints ripped completly from posing. I didnt realize it was so flimsy until I noticed something was wrong and looked under the clothing. The foam bodies are made with horribly cheap foam that rips easily. I don't know why they didn't fix the issue for the subsequent models?!

Great video and it's 100% true. Any Michael Myers mask you purchase from Trick or Treat studios will absolutely require a rehaul if you want it to look like the movie versions... that's just a fact and everyone knows it, even their most diehard followers. The production is rushed to meet demand and the product suffers from it. I recall comments made by Chris and all I can say is that his behavior will only damage their reputation in the long run. It's beyond childish and he needs to learn to accept criticisms without the need to clap back.

FYI, if you post a review on their website with less than 4 stars, they will remove it. When you submit a review, it gets reviewed by someone at tots before it gets posted to the website.

On point. I think things will get better if they just post the mask finish that is not artist rendering and just the product as is. I've had that issue with their Freddy Krueger glove when what they post on the website is artist handmade glove and not their own product. I really think Chris should better himself on how he handle criticism on their products tho I've seen some progress on his behavior, but it still need more improvement

My main issue with the 2018 mask is that it's really tight fitting on my head. The '78 mask fits me just fine, I have a 23 inch head and it feels like the 2018 mask was made for maybe a 21 inch head because it's just far too small for me to wear comfortably.

People have every right to speak their opinion ESPECIALLY on products doesn’t matter if it’s Halloween masks or shampoo...I live in the UK so I don’t directly get my products from tots but I do get them from Madabouthorror which is like the Tots of the UK so they do amazing work by me...But that’s because I know what I’m getting, and I know I can easily hire another artist to rehaul the mask and make it look like a $200+ mask, but regarding tots they really should take a random stock mask of theirs and they should put it up as the image people will see when they buy it, only seems fair and at the end of the day, they’re $60 $70 masks so people can’t complain too much about the amount of detail that goes into the masks, I mean for crying out loud the h18 mask we get from them is literally the same mask in the movie, but anyways they should really be showing people what they will actually get.

I don't even think it's a problem to ask more from ToTS, or hope for more, and the fact you are so so respectful about it and try to give a completely even handed context for your opinion absolutely puts you in the right. Yep they almost always have trash paint jobs I got lucky with mine but I still had it rehauled lol Talk to Steve at The Devils Latex in Ontario, ask him what he thinks of TOTS and what they do for the industry 😳 I know some of them got them early by the way from horror cons.

Agree 100% that almost every tots myers mask I own came with a horrible paint Job/horrible hair, but the sculpts were great. I repainted/rehaired them, and they came out well. I do think that the masks that come directly from trick or treat studios are better quality usually than from in store. Weirdly though, their other masks not of the halloween brand usually come with okay paint jobs and decent hair, so who knows 😏

I love Trick or treat studios, they're products are incredible considering the price and if honest like 90% if they're products have excellent paint jobs. It does seem they're Myers masks are the ones that lack a little accuracy. Since watching your videos I've been inspired to rehaul my masks however I don't have all the tools so use brushes and acrylic and liquid latex. When you do a rehaul of your kills mask could you do it that way so I can watch and learn?

Wish I saw this sooner! I purchased a pumpkinhead from H3 couple years back. I *thought* Trick or Treat was supposed to make superb and premium masks even at the relatively cheap prices. The chemical smell alone made me return it, but the material was horrible and the color was nowhere near what the actual masks were.

Yes you should add and mix latex to your colors it prevents the paint you apply from cracking , and always add a little bit water to your mix aswell

They are most definitely good sculpts. It's just the whole quality control with mass production. If someone is being rushed to get something done because they need 100 more before they leave work that day they don't have that passion or attention to detail like the hard-core fan is going to have... but then again they could have went with a burned tanned color on the kills MM mask 😂 we got yellow and green for burn marks. My 100% peeve is the way they cut the eye holes on the 78 Myers. The most iconic mask has the most inconsistent cuts sadly

I don't know if I'm the only one but I swear the masks I've tried on at stores feel smaller than the ones I've received through pre-orders. My head is always swimming in a pre-order mask and the store models always fit better.

I do the same. Between their pushing back release dates of products available for preorder, ridiculous shipping charges, and being able to purchase items in store before receiving the item you paid for months in advance. Good products, horrible company. 🎃

Even my favorite tots Michel Myers mask (H4) has its problems and calling it out shouldn’t make you a prime target for tots

Agreed, but to another point, there are so many people that constantly shit on the finish jobs on the masks for literally no reason? Like do you really expect a $60 mass-produced mask to have the same paint and finish as a $400 handmade mask. To reiterate your point though, TOTS should step up and take criticism better.

It seems as if they have adopted the idea or assumption that people will already modify their mask’s paint jobs so they put little to no effort into them. And I feel like that’s not a very good mentality especially the way the pictures look online

See I don't think you need to defend yourself on this because so many people complain about the paint. We still purchase the product. I love my TOTS 78 and 18 masks. And I have had no thought of having them repainted.

Okay the Halloween 4 mask no problem with it i love that mask with all my heart but one tiny problem the nostrils now you are thinking whats wrong with the nostrils well in Halloween 4 the as Michael Myers takes his new mask puts it on and tries to kill Jamie but during that i see that his nostrils are big and my H4 mask nostrils are small now no hate to Justin Mabry but i gotta ask why are his nostrils in the mask so small i rant about this for a while and im still wondering WHY i wouldn't even be mad if you just made them bigger because i can barely breath in the mask and its tight the tight part im not worried about i have a big ass head but why not make the nostrils bigger like come on man its not that hard.
