Some people HAD money and now they have a VR SIM racing motion cockpit... Lol❤ I also think the tracking fidelity or the rift CV 1 was underrated. I got far less occlusion with it (because I had 4 cameras) than I do with my current 2 version 1.0 lighthouses. Especially if your play space is small and has a lot of stuff in it like mine. I probably should get some more lighthouses! But I'd need all version 2.0 ones to run more than 2.

The full shabang? Yeah that's gonna cost you a lot. But me, I bought the original Oculus Rift and it only cost me a few hundred. If you've already got a decent PC then it's really not that expensive. There's also the Quest which isn't that expensive. But if you want the best headset, with the best controllers, a haptic suit, multiple trackers, etc. Yeah it's gonna cost a lot.

My Oculus quest 2 is in super rough shape but it still works, I bought it with my pandemic check during COVID-19 when I was homeless, in a shelter now lol I still use it almost daily. Edit: it's not able to charge any more because a Temu c cord shorted out and melted my charging port

If you plan on doing mostly PCVR a good budget option is the Quest 2. If you want to do mostly stand-alone (no computer) you should get either the Quest 2 or Quest 3.

The vive Pro costs about as much as an Index. I got it used as a full set for like 400€.

I thought the vive pro wye would be like $400, but it's $1,400!!!

Why did the video cut off when you were talking about the last VR so you can feel someone touching you if someone else has it too? How do they all work like do you hook it up to a console or is there games & what not built into the head set? Have you ever tryed the PS4 VR? That’s a good one too for games & watching movies on it. I’ve gotten it to hook up to my pc so I can watch movies on it.

Would you recommend a quest 3 for a new vr player?

Me personally, I would recommend a quest two to start on vr. Is cheaper and if you don’t like it, you don’t lose so much money, I know some people that like the idea of vr but can’t be on the headset for more than 20 minutes… so take that as you will

Right now quest 3 is a better option because for the most part it’s better than a lot of high end PCVR headsets from 5 years ago

My setup is a quest pro and vive 3.0 trackers. Had an index but sold it was super uncomfortable and didn’t have face and eye tracking. I’m looking to get rid of base stations completely when I can I don’t like the occlusions they get.

Im curious. I use to stream and play a LOT of vr. A lot of vr chat. But now vr chat is sort of dead. What do you actually play on vr now?

At my work I have used a bunch of headsets but I own the quest 1 and 2.

Can you try the next worst body tracking suit?

i actually prefer those old vive controllers, joysticks are far too slippery in my experience.

I still use my OG Vive. Improvements haven't been significant enough for me to upgrade. Also the rift had no controller tracking on launch. Just an Xbox controller. Though I never did like the touchpads on the Vive either.

Have you been running into problems with Skyrim vr since the new update messed up a lot of mods?

I have both the vive pro eye and quest pro, and the quest pro is soooo much better. If you have the chance upgrade to it. Its like a game changer. Attach a tracker to it and use it with your base stations.

How much was your daily driver setup? I’m looking into going all in on vr and am looking at the bigscreen beyond currently, but the lack of eye tracking bothers me. I’m planning on building lucid vr gloves, looks like a fun afternoon project.

Quest pro is good for PCVR. eye and facial tracking. Good size FOV. Controllers are the best in the meta quest line. Passthru sucks major ass tho.
