FROM OZ .When I had horses and ponies , I noticed that they would not eat grass growing in horse manure. I would find a very fresh manure , making a soup of it by stirring in a bucket of cold water . Taking a branch from a bush would splash the mix on anything I didn't want them to eat, rails and my favourite trees .

My horses have been chewing wood for years. One started and taught the rest. They do it out of boredom and it’s the most aggravating problem I’ve dealt with! They are in hot wire but even chew the fence posts between the wires, some of them right in half. I’ve tried every trick in the book to get them to stop, including multiple types of trace minerals. The vet pulled mineral panels on them and nothing is amiss. I’m at a loss honestly!

Horses don’t chew wood strictly out of boredom?

Answer: Get the horse out of the closed stall. Provide a herd setting for the horse. Allow the horse to graze. Let the horse be a horse instead of bored out of his mind.

I use DAC products. Can you provide the name of the DAC mineral free choice? One of my horses has been eating wood -- they are on good pasture and are fed well, but just one of them may need some extra mineral. Thank you.

I am in Oregon and can not find free choice trace minerals anywhere! Can someone please point me in the right direction? I went to feeddac.com but all of their minerals come with scoops and directions are given as top dressings. I am confused.🤔
