Few months ago I've read Daniil Granin's book, a Russian ww2 veteran and writer. He describes one event that occurred during ww2: group of Russian soldiers were walking in forest road for scouting. Then they suddenly struck with German group of soldiers of almost same number face to face, who were also walking same road. Both sides were taken in shock and will jump to 2 sides of the road. But one young German soldier who was walking last was not aware of what happened at first and when he sees red sign of soviet soldier's helmet near his shoulder, he screams and within 2 big jump joins his comrades on the other side of the road. Then one of the soviet soldiers laughed on him and then laughter broke out from both sides, soviet and german soldiers laughing on poor inexperienced young german soldier. "Then the strange thing happened: both side did not fire a bullet-it was simply impossible to do it, that's where i learnt that smile and laughter has a force to kill fear, killing intent. Both groups hesitantly continued their way". Sorry my poor english, english and russian not my first languages... Just wanted to say very close encounters in forest during ww2 were possible sometimes.

I watched the movie for 20 minutes before I gave up. Horrible acting and poorly made.
Considering this is a private movie I'm impressed.
I think it looks great, I don't understand why people are complaining. It's not a mulit - million dollar Hollywood film. It's a low budget film about a interesting, overlooked subject, and by the looks of the trailers it's pretty well done. Just take it for what it is and enjoy it. The only thing I will say is that it seems to attract the Neo-Nazi, holocaust denying cretins like flys to shit. But obviously the film maker has no control over that.

+jugend lover They would probably be amazed at how pathetic they are. Considering the original Nazis survived the horrific fighting in the first world war, then the unrest in Germany, great depression and conquered nearly all of Europe and got to within sight of the Kremlin. While a lot of modern day Nazis only action for the cause is to post comments on youtube videos.
Very impressive. Congratulations Alessandro. Only thing missing is you on screen, even as a cameo like Alfred Hitchcock.

Vielen lieben Dank für diesen tollen Film. Mit besten deutschen Grüßen.
Cant wait to see the whole movie. My complements to the producer. I read some of the comments here which I find are quite hostile and unjustified, probably because the victors who write history have demonized everyone in Germany during WW2 through propoganda. Keep an open mind. Telling an unpopular truth may be hard for many to understand. I have met former German soldiers and hear a very different story than what I was taught in American movies and American schools. None of us here have the right to criticise these men on both sides unless they were war criminals. Unless you have been there, you cannot fully understand what they went through and why. There were atrocities on all sides. That is war! Its not fun, its not humane and its not glorious! Its just death. Maybe we should look at the true criminals who orchestrated the war in the first place. The bankers and rich industrialists that have never been brought to justice and their families still are in control today. Maybe the next world war will have the same traits or origins, but there will be a new scapegoat! Probably a better movie than the communist brainwashing crap that comes out of Hollowood today!

Indeed!
I would say bad special affects, but to be honest, for a low budget movie its pretty damn good, only thing I have a problem with is the dust kicking up, and how quiet the gun sounds are, besides that pretty dang good.
One of my favourite movies. Must own it on DVD/ Blu-ray soon.❤
i've just seen the movie recently after my dvd order came. amazing story. good topic. nothing like this i have ever seen. the sound track is amazing! the equipment is impressively accurate. Panther tank and many other cars trucks and so on. Of course... it also has everything that comes with the fact that we're talking about a low budget independent movie. So, if you're looking for an action movie, go watch some american big budget movie. But if you're looking for a story like you haven't seen before i hardly recommend it. I might say it can open your eyes in many ways.

Good to see a film about, wss soldiers no matter the budget.
awesome
As a video editor/producer myself, may I give some constructive feedback? + great use of props and uniforms. The ground work was done right. +good use of film grain effects, although slight adjustment on a few frames would make it look more 'intense'. -Improvements could be made on the bullet firing effects. It was quite unrealistic. -improvements on sound effects could make the movie seem more immersive. I suggest get in touch with a few fps shooter video producers for more tips, watch their guide on cg effects on weapons/sounds. Hope it gets better in the future.
I was very interested in this movie when i saw the trailer. Now watching this video i lost interest. it does not look a movie but an home made video. A bit bad special effects and some errors, like for example, the mg42 guy, he is firing, balancing the ammo but then the camera goes to the other side and you dont see the cartiches flying away. And some other errors. Yet its a good job overall.

+Airsoft Vending Zone It is an MG 34, not a 42. Also, the MG 34(and the 42) eject brass from the bottom, not out the sides, though you can see the links coming out the right side of the gun. Also, the rate of fire on both the MG 34 and the MP 40 were quite accurate.

+PapaPlays because in italy blank weapons are illegal unless you get special permission. these permissions are very very long. Without a proper production it would have been impossible to use them legally. anyways, many scenes of the movie were shot in France and Slovakia and we used blank weapons over there.

Guy is looking through the binoculars... "oh russians".... they are walking 5 feet ahead of them. wtf Russians come from the flanks... just screaming not shooting. And I mean they play SS-troopers, they where very well trained back then. Aaaaand "Steiner" (cause it sounds german) forgot about the grenades.

+Der Wolf funny stuff. the flank guys are expendable guys with single shot bolt action rifles, so not a lot shots to be had there; but yea, i get it. it's a tad clunky. however, i'm pleased to see a movie finally where the germans can actually fight something other than defenseless civilians..

Look at the movie Fury for instance. As far as we know this was not based on a true story. Though I liked the movie, the scene where a whole company of SS or more was defeated by one Sherman tank that was non operational and its crew are also very unrealistic, not to mention the message portayed that the SS was incompetent or an inexperienced fighting force. Compare the hollowood budget and you will see the twist im referring to in heroic propoganda, even 71 years after the cease of hostilities.

+Sigmaster40 Agreed! Especially when the soldiers they were fighting were from "Der Fuhrer" a regiment part of 2nd SS "Das Reich" Division. Not to mention Das Reich was not fighting the 2nd Armoured Division at the end of the war. The end was too painful too watch haha!

What is realsitic! Ask those who were there! Realistic is that hardly anything goes as planned. Mistakes are made in the heat of battle, with excitement, fear and adrenaline getting in the way of all that training you had. Not to mention being shot at, shrapnel flying around you, concussions from explosions, losing your hearing, being tired or exhausted, sleep deprivation and hunger and being cold. Easy for people here to criticize from an arm chair when most of your experience is with hollowood films where usually all the actors wear clean clothes, look pretty and have all there wits. Just a thought.
The camo parkas and helmet covers are the wrong pattern / model for this time period.
