Can we be honest here for a second? Deji couldn’t have beaten Floyd because Floyd is simply just levels above him. I respect the mindset ksi has but it’s just not realistic when it comes to boxing. Also of course Floyd got a black eye, he had his guard down the whole fight. FairPlay to deji for getting in the ring with him but I think the result would’ve been the same if he worked twice as hard. That’s all I’m saying.

Yea I'd agree that deji never would have won but he could have showed it all in the ring like he did against fousey. Deji never threw big punches or anything, he was just a punching bag for 6 rounds. I do agree that Deji should’ve tried harder, but that’s not Deji style. He is a counter striker fighting a significantly better counterstriker. If he can’t find a way counter than deji loses the fight, that’s the down side to this style of boxing because you can’t rush an opponent or you would lose instantly.

It is very much possible, and a fairly common occurrence in combat sports gyms. Remember, Deji has trained a lot more than the average person too. So imagine what someone with years of experience could do in a ring to the average guy without even punching, just moving around. The other week, I made a peekaboo copycat in his third month of training trip over his own terrible footwork and injure his leg with a feint, not even ten seconds into the round. Didn't even touch him. A panicked or inexperienced man is an easy opponent.

I just feel like Deji gave no effort. He went back to his old ways of just circling the opponent throwing almost no punches just on the defensive constantly. I mean yes of course he couldn’t have beaten Floyd but atleast go out there and try if your gonna get in the ring with him. I don't get why people have a problem with JJ hyping himself up. Why is having confidence in one's self a bad thing ? If he gets in the ring and gets knocked out, as a fan you encourage him to go train harder and try again. Someone can beat Floyd, Floyd isn't superhuman, even Mohammad Ali lost fights. It isn't vain, it's having confidence in oneself, it's encouraging oneself in the face of adversity.

Now I'm gonna be honest, the take on Floyd isn't the best, and I'm putting that lightly. If anything, obviously Deji wasn't on the same level as Floyd, his fighting style wasn't also the best either. Floyd on the other hand had his hands down the whole fight so it was kinda expected he'd get shot by some punches or so. Not to mention Floyd is legit a master of defense and patience, realistically, if Deji was on the same level of a pro-boxer, he might've been able to put up a much better fight instead of being hesitant, but that still wouldn't be good enough considering how Floyd fights, weeving, ducking and rolling the shoulder while punching enough to score the points, which is the cement of his fighting style, and looking his fights versus Canelo and even Pacquiao (despite me being a Filipino and a Pacquiao fan), they couldn't touch him enough because of his defense and patience (the latter I think is what makes Floyd an amazing boxer).

JJ may be the one and only person in the KZread space who has continuously slowly and steadily gotten bigger and bigger every year throughout his whole time here
