My HONEST opinion of the 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-class

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Mercedes-Benz has updated the E-class for 2021 but is it an improvement? Let's talk spec & tech and of course design. I'm also going to retro re-design the rear of the brand new 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-class.

My grandfather has a 2012 Mercedes E350 and I felt that the last E class didn’t look like had been developed from the past cars in the class, this new on I can really see the luxuries lines and slopes of the back that make me think: this is definitely a Mercedes.

I was never a fan of GLE/ML designs prior to the current one and if you look at all of them lined up it's not like the new one is vastly different in it's design components/themes but in execution it is far better than previous iterations.

8:03 so by solving the 'problem' you just decided not to sell e class in the USA anymore? because those lights in that small surface area cant pass the regulations. there is a reason why car brands don't let their designers to run wild. you did the same in the Ferrari video too and the result was a mix of a racecar bed and bathtub and don't forget by making the front sharper you violated another regulation(this time pedestrian) especially for the NA market. to be fair for the most of the time I agree with what you are saying and even coming from but in practice your answers to these 'problems' not really solving issues and creating new ones, costly ones. maybe I'm missing another point in your videos but by watching few ones this was the first impression I've got.

I like this new facelift better than the original 5th gen, but my modern favourite is still the 2013 facelifted 4th gen, it has some sharper bodylines, and is a bit boxier. Most current Mercs are too round and "melted cheese". This focus on more horizontal lights/graphical elements for the new 2020/2021 models is an improvement, but not a big step away from this roundness. Unfortunately, your redesign doesn't really help this, and doesn't remind me of an old E-class either. Props for giving it a go!

I think Mercedes design language is too repetitive, generic & boring at the moment. I'd love to see them go more retro inspired.

the rear is just so...droopy. The front...idk they need to make the headlights bigger or something...or make the grille narrower and elongate the headlights

German saloons are getting bold on the design front (except the vw group) hope this experimentation will bring us some fresh wonders

Personally, I absolutely LOVED the w212 facelift with the lighting package ESPECIALLY with the V8 (E550)! That was the last true E class in my opinion! It didn't look like a big C class or a small S class! It had a look all it's own and will be missed! 😔

Your retro design looks the part, but times have changed and I like the new design a tide better. I don't know they won't hire you for their next design?

It looks like a more rounder version of the W212 Pre-facelift - production year of 2009 to 2012.
