It is good to know there are other people like me. My wife always ask me what i'm doing in the garage and I would say "I'm making something" then she leaves me alone. Excellent video.

I do the best I can and have been doing mechanics for a while now. There are more of us than you know. Keep on making the stuff you need to do what you got to do. I'm not married and I hope your wife will understand but we are men and the garage is our place. Thanks.

You've made quite a few useful tools Pete! Some of the tools I've made: 79-87 SAAB 900 front brake caliper piston wind back tool. The factory ones kept falling apart. A hole flaring tool to flare the holes where the nerf bars passed through the door panels on a Chassis Dynamics asphalt modified. A hand step flanging tool from a set of old locking pliers. A slide hammer. A small hobby vice that was to be used to shape and file string slots for guitar nuts. A set of scales to weigh an asphalt modified that used multiplying levers and 4 bathroom scales. They were pretty accurate and we couldn't afford a set of electronic scales. A fixture clamped to wheels so I could use a magnetic caster/camber gauge for racecar setup. A tire scoring tool to score lines in the center of racing slicks so we could measure toe out. A wheel puller to remove stuck wheels on a Craftsman riding mower transaxle.

That's a lot I wish I could see your homemade tools. A Chassis Dynamics asphalt modified I need to know more? I was at one time going to make some scales using hydraulic cylinders but was having a hard time finding really short cylinders and then I would somehow convert psi readings to lbs. I currently have a stuck wheel on the kids go-cart I haven't decided how I will get it off. Very cool Lieser.

Yes, I did that the other day I stopped in at a garage sale the there were these things with a wide radius aluminum pulley and some thin cable I didn't know what they were until I got home but they turned out to be some fishing trolling apparatus that bolts to the back of a boat. I will make something out of them someday for sure. Thanks

I love that fact that some of the tools you made where made long b4 you could ever buy a tool to do that job of that tool. But that's what we need chop and bend tools to make them work.

My Ace Hardware will replace the china made craftsman. I despise the new craftsman because the steel is brittle and breaks easily.

Do you have a specific brand that you stick with? I have craftsman, snap on, harbor freight, and a some willy nilly found or aquired stuff.

No I have them all. Mostly I have purchased my tools individually. I prefer the USA Craftsman but the china made stuff isn't any good, the screwdrivers are brittle and the 20v cordless is junk as well my drill has a loose chuck and both smaller batteries have broken cases. I have MAC, Snap-On and Matco stuff I also have some Harbor Freight, I like the Braun lights and I have a Merlin tire pressure gauge that I use. I have a Launch scanner, my TPMS tool is an Autel and I have a Hantek scope but plan to get an old Modus Snap-On. Thanks for watching.
